I have hundreds of photos in subfolders, the photo names being prefixedwith a 4-digit sequence number.I would like to be able to create a text file containing all the files
sorted by File Name and then showing the sub-folder that they are in -is that possible?
Folder on my external hard drive will not delete at all. it says " the filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect". i have also entered the file an tried to delete the things inside but they say " cannot delete file: cannot read from the source file or disk". It happen wen i used the file(temp folder) for emule. it is a virus i suppose but the folders say it has no bytes to them but wen i see the size of the whole folder it's 24.5 GB of space.

I've walked her through the process of clicking on View at the top of the Outlook Express Interface and setting the Layout items so that her Contacts and Folder list should be on the screen, but they are not. I've tried everything I can think of to rectify the situation and I've run out of options. The way it is without her folders list she cannot access her deleted folder and her sent folder and cannot delete anything from those folders. Is there anything else I can do to bring up those her contacts list and her folders list?

I want to print a list of all the top-level folders; I don't need to list second-level folders or even what files are in the top-level folders. The only way I know to do this is to open a DOS window in that drive and Go to File/Edit/Select all/Copy then paste it into a Word doc. But then I have to edit out all the date and size info.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe registry on one of my computers is corrupt and if I try to copy the files from the WindowsRepair folder using the windows system repair tool, I'm told the files cannot be found. One possible solution I thought of is using the registry files from my other computer running Windows XP. I don't even know if this is possible, but if it is, how can I transfer the files. I would put them on a CD but the CD drive won't open when the system repair tool is running, and they're too big to fit on a floppy disk, even one at a time (the system and software files are both over 2mb.)

You can customize a folder with a "folder type" - Documents, Pictures, Music, Video, etc - which comes with a default view and a list of default attributes most relevant to the type (artist and album title for music, dimension for video, etc). You can also setup so that the settings are "memorized". However, the memory seems to be quite short term for some of my folders. They tend to randomly reset themselves and there seems to be a consistent but unrecognizable pattern. i updated my windows XP home edition to service pack2, but i recently found out that my system32 folder is missing from C:WINDOWS.I also use search to look for it and i couldn't find it anywhere on My Computer.I have also been getting an Application error recently and i have noticed this after i deleted my AVG anti-virus (I'm not sure whether deleting AVG was the problem).The error says:"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application.Sometimes the application is rundll32.exe, explorer.exe and when i turn on my computer it says that the error is userinit.exe at the welcome screen.
