Every time I start up my computer the settings in my ADSL connection is altered to nr;
004366098974893 Other settings in my dial up is also altered. I have run Spybot and Lavasoft Ad-Aware free spyware but they don't solve the problem. I also got icons called Lip Game, PORN DVD and Dating which I removed.
I am using aol right now because IE6 won't let me go anywhere. I tried going to a couple of sites and both times it took me to the Yahoo home page, weird that AOL works considering they are on the same platform..or is it? anyway may I please post my HJT and would someone take a peek and tell me if you see anything I am not seing anything, I did the unthikable I d/l from an untrusted site for fonts

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running XP Home Edition on an HP home PC. I keep getting warning notifications that my computer has been infected with the "Blackworm Virus." I am then routed to a WinFixer purchase website (I haven't purchased or installed anything). In addition, there seems to be some other "bug" that will takeover my browser and route them to other sites. I have run AVG, Microsoft Spyware, Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware 6.0, and XoftSpy Scan - all to no avail. Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware and XoftSpy detect the cookies and allow for immunization but this action is obviously not getting to the heart of the problem. AVG hasn't even identified the items. I have also tried de-activating the restore points and rebooting in safe mode

View 13 Replies View RelatedWhen I came home from work the other day, the display on my computer was screwwed up. The first thing I noticed was that the text for the icons on my desktop was off-color. Instead of being the usual icons and black text, everything looked strangely shaded with blue and pink... They all still function properly, but look strange. Also the start menu at the bottom and all the selections under the start menu are the same way. Second; when I open Firefox and try to view videos, the video is covered in red lines and boxes, and is unviewable. The video is still playing, but so distorted that I can't make it out. i ran windows troubleshooting, and have been searching the internet for hours now to find a solution, but have had no luck. The only changes I have made to the computer that I can think of, was to delete some of the unnecessary folders in the My Documents folder. I didn't see anything that would have caused these issues.

Firefox, I have tried setting it as my default browser in the settings option, and in "Set programs access and defaults". It works quite well... But can I get MSN Messenger to open up in that browser? When I click on my e-mails or MSN Space Etc. It opens up in Internet Explorer. Is there ANY way to open it in my default browser?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe high level instructions and still have the problem. I've got a hijacker (I think) problem. When I try to start my machine, as it's loading the icons in the system tray, I repeatedly get "explorer.exe has caused errors and will be shut down" and it generates an error log. Then all desktop icons disappear, and it starts over. Only way I can get it booted is in safe mode. I've run the current versions of spybot s&d and adaware 6. After I ran these applications and cleaned my system, I still have the problem. Reboot in safe mode and run Adaware and spybot again and they find registry entry problems again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI made a mistake when I moved into a house that doesn’t have high speed Internet. I signed up for netzero to get me through the months that I will not have high speed. I installed their software then their software downloaded some more software that is still locking my computer up on occasion, even after I have uninstalled their software. It doesn't lock it up totally it just doesn't let me run any other programs and it doesn't let me log off (even through CTRL ALT DEL). It also runs a program in called ipconfig.exe that never seems to finish running

This virus i driving me crazy, my flash usb create folders that i didn't create by my self and i can't delete the folder's even the folder's i create by my self. I click on folder and i go SHIFT+DELETE the folder hide ones and in 5 seconds he show again.

I am using Windows XP. When I download certain things to the desktop, they don't actually save to the Desktop, but rather to a folder called "Recent." When I search for these files using the Windows search tool, I can find them, but I don't know how to (a) open the "Recent" folder or (b) re-route it so they actually download to the desktop.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi did a virus scan today and had to delete 5 files which are infected with something called Trojan. i cannt really remember all the file names, but im sure 2 of them called rundll32.exe and notepad.exe.now i cant open anything. whatever i click on, it will show up with a big error sign, saying cant find the perspective exe. eg. if i open explorer, it will say it cannt find explorer.exe.

I have used it for many years in Windows 98 without problems, both in my home and at work. Recently my office updated the OS system from 98 to Windows XP2 Professional edition. The "Find it" program does not work with the Windows XP2. I have 2 laptops with Windows XP Home edition. "Find It" works fine in those laptops. I tried booting in safe mode and that worked fine a minute ago, but now I am trying safe mode again and it hangs at a file called Mup.sys and will not proceed with the boot.

When I open Internet Explorer, my home page (www.google.com) opens.When it is finished loading, it automatically redirets to yahoo mail login page. The catch is, all my browsers windows that are open will be changed too. If I hit "stop" before the page is loaded, then hit "refresh", this action does not occur. Although I am the administrator of this computer, I am unable to access "Documents," (I get this error message: "C: Documents and Settings All users Documents is not accessible. Access is denied" )and furthermore I am unable to change the folder's setting in "sharing and security" to "share" this folder. Additionally, I am blocked from access to the Shared Music and Shared Picture Samples that come installed on XP Pro. Please tell me how I can restore this folder to its original capacity as a "shared documents" folder. I am currently unable to set any of my folders to be shared. I am using XP Pro.
