View 2 RepliesHow can I copy and send the information available at the bottom of drwtson32.exe for application errors? I can access the info, but I want to be able to send it to the software vendor so they can determine the problem. It doesn't make a mini dump. I guess that is because the is no BSOD, only an application that has to shut down.

Guess what? Still happening. Whenever I bulk send (and we're only talking c 50 emails here), I get a Symantec message
saying the server was interrupted on each message, and then my outlook crashes so that it can't send or received anything! I have a Netgear router, but it doesn't make a difference I use it or not, and I also use Norton Internet security.
Tried to use her wireless adapter on my wireless network and ever since that day I've had printer problems. What happens when I say print is the printer icon appears in my taskbar, hangs around for about 15 seconds (as if printing is occuring) then it goes away but the printer never prints. If I open Control Panels and go to Printer, it too breifly shows one document printing for a few seconds, as if it is printing. It is as if the file has been spooled, but the spooler doesn't send the file on to the printer. My desire is to print. My question (hopefully on that road to printing): Is there a print spooler in Windows XP? Any way to monitor it other than control panel printer?

I installed the Fax Services and shared the Fax on the Win2K3 Server. I was able to see it and install it on the WinXP Home PC. The only time I saw an error was when I was accessing the Send Fax Wizard on the WinXP Home Fax Client PC. As soon as I clicked off the "Welcome to Send Fax Wizard" intro page I got the message: "Send Fax Wizard", "Fax server information can not be retrieved" The Local Fax (Modem) works fine on the Windows XP Home/Pro PCs and the Windows Server 2003 PC The problem is the Windows XP Home/Pro PCs can not send a fax to the shared fax on the Windows Server 2003 PC. I noticed that on XP Home/Pro PCs in the Fax Console there is a red "X" in the middle of the status bar at the bottom.
Is there some place that I can search to see if windows files/commands are legitimate? I have Zone Alarm and it has programs on it trying to access the Internet that I do not recognize. Another one was: Microsoft Out of Bounds. I have Windows XP Home Edition with all updates.I have ZoneAlarm free and McAffee AntiVirus.Nothing has been detected.

Whenever I go to my computer/win explorer and try to right click on any item, i get an error in Windows Explorer with the send report and dont send option buttons. Im not able to do many things due to that. and this is not a virus or something I guess because I have a good AV software and I was using my PC throughout till yesterday evening when I shifted it from 1 room to another. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a fairly new computer running Win XP. On it, I had an older Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse with appropriate software. The keyboard died, so I bought a new cheapie that connects via USB. And I still have the wireless mouse. Since the change, my computer has slowed horribly, with keyboard and mouse commands, in particular, taking too long to register. I have removed the Logitech Itouch keyboard software (not the Mouseware),and installed the new keyboard software. I have defragged, scanned for viruses, and used Ad-Aware and Spy Sweeper to see if I had some clogging spyware.

You know how sometimes in cop shows or shows that have police investigations in them, they look somewhere on a computer to find out where the user has been on the internet or what he/she has been doing. I know about (but it doesn't show everything, seemingly):C:Documents and Settings(owners name)Local SettingsHistory
The procedure is as follows:
Right-click databases -> Restore Database
I mark 'from device', click the '...' button & select 'File' in the dropdown, then brows to the file itself. Under 'select the backup sets to restore' I check the only checkbox there, then in the 'To Database' I select the name of the database in the file (a new DB name appears there as you select the file).
XP Pro SP2, all latest updates. When I reboot, I can correctly sync to a time server, but after an unknown amount of time it goes back to saying "The RPC server is unavailable" instantly after clicking Update Now, regardless of what server I tell it to sync to. I also noticed that if I view my nForce Networking Controller status, then click Properties and go to the Authentication tab, everything is greyed out. If I hit OK without changing anything (I can't change it even if I wanted to), a message pops up saying "An unexpected condition occured. Not all of your requested changes in settings could be made" and just goes back to that window. I have to hit cancel to close it

1. I've got to set up a Terminal Server Licensing server and was thinking about putting this on my second domain controller. I was wondering what would happen in this server dies, though. Is there some way of having resilience in this scenario? Perhaps a second Licensing server or something, the way you have 2 or more Domain Controllers?
I had a ton of problems with my computer (corrupted files, registry, etc) until I found out that the hard drive was the responsible. (70ish bad sectors) I bought one last week. The computer ran fine. Last night I got some errror about a DLL being corrupt (I think it was sxs.dll) and I had to run CHKDSK. After a while I turned the system off. Today I turn it on, CHKDSK runs automatically, then the system fails at starting up: the mouse arrow appears, but nothing more.It can't be the hard drive, as it's new. Bad RAM maybe? Could it be some software? P2P, games, virus, anything? Is there a way to fix it? I'm not gonna format, there's too much data at stake. I'm using XP SP1, with AVG.

My operating system, Windows XP, comes up with several error messages when I try to open up system files or programs that concern the "Computer Administrator". I then checked in the Control Panel to make sure that my name is in fact the admininstrator, and it is, to no suprise. But whenever I try to open these programs it either says this has been disabled by the administrator. The administrator has turned off this feature.
I don't know why this happens. I find out a way to fix it and then when I close it, it won't let me reopen it without fixing it again. Some programs that I have tried that don't work and give me this or a similar error message are, System Restore, Task Manager, Regedit, and Windows Update.
At random occasions, my mouse will get all jumpy on me. Another way to describe it would be laggy - the pointer is laggy. I can drag the pointer across the desktop and it'll get 'stuck' a few times. Sometimes it even gets stuck for 10-30 seconds. Sometimes although very, very rarely it gets stuck and won't move until I reboot. Logging out of Windows and changing users or something like that doesn't help. I have to shutdown or reboot.
And sometimes the computer will beep when the mouse is getting stuck. The beep isn't coming from my speakers, but from the motherboard (?). The mouse is clean, I'm sure of that. It has also been taken care of, so I don't understand why it would start failing on me. And the other bizarre thing is that.. sometimes the mouse will work okay for two straight days, but then it'll start to screw up, and stay a little jumpy even after a reboot, such as right now.
i have a laptop (windows xp) and when i close the lid it goes into stand by automatically, and successfully, but then starts back up within 2-10 seconds for no reason.same case with hibernation, as soon as the computer is in hibernation it starts up again. i went to windows website but it suggests this has to do 3d screen savers which i dont use. this seems like a common problem and supposedly has to do with winfixer, sysprotect or winantivirus spyware. my computer had had vundo trojan.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Windows XP home SP2 computer that has a Sony DVD RW DW-D22A that supposedly supports both -R and +R. Well I bought a stack of 100 Blank DVD-R and less than 1/2 way through the stack they turned into lousy DVD's. Both for DVD movies and data storage they wouldn't work. I would get this CRC check sum error message. I contacted the manufacturer and sent in a few samples and they replaced them - sent me two stacks of 50 - nice company. Well I just burned a data disc and my computer doesn't recognize anything being on the disc - I even get the "You have inserted a blank cd/dvd window" thing on my screen. I then tried to burn a dvd movie using a different program and that program doesn't even recognize a disc being in the drive (yes I did put in a fresh dvd before I started the program).
