So a long time ago, my computer crashed when i was working with a folder I had made on my desktop. Now, no matter how many times I drop it in the recycle bin, and then empty the bin, or right click and delete it, or delete it from windows explorer. It keeps coming back It will be gone for a while... and then even within minutes. it just shows back up.

My computer had a file that I wanted to remove but instead got this message:Cannot delete file: Access is denied.The file is in use by another program or user.I was told to install unlocker to remove the file. I right-clicked unlocker on that file and it said there is nothing to be unlocked so I deleted the file through the unlocker options. I checked the recycling bin to see if it ended up there but that file was not in the recycling bin. I thought nothing of it and assumed it's gone for good but after I restarted the computer it came back. I also scanned and removed all the bugs from my computer but still no use. It keeps coming back. Although the file keeps coming back it contains nothing and takes up 0 space.

So now when i click on uninstall on it in the 'add/remove programs' window, it does nothing but stay there. This must be because its still in the registry. The program is called 'Micrografx'.

I ended up with a blue screen whining about not being able to load a registry hive, C:WindowsSystem32ConfigSOFTWARE in particular.So I google searched on my brothers machine for a way to fix it, which pretty much involved loading up 6 annoying Win XP boot floppies that takes days to load (Ok i'm exagerating a little there....) and getting into the Recovery Console to perform some copy/delete commands to get myself back to previous registry files.
Which to my dismay, I found out that it took me back to the stone age (like when XP was first installed, infact to me it seemded like it had gone back even further).
I think my computer has a worm. I've been using A2 and Ad-aware to try to clean it up, unsuccessfully. It says it found trojan horses and eliminated them but they're always back.
- My automatic updates are shut off, can't fix it.
- My service Pack 2 disappeared, along with the firewall.
- Sophos became disabled.
- My CD drive is only recognized periodically
l lost my shared folder any way to get it back..it was in documents and settings

The file transfer proceeded, however, after a couple of minutes a message appeared saying it couldn't move the folder as it was currently being used by another program. I closed notepad which was the program involved. I then went to the partition where the folder was originally kept but the folder was not present. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had this program downloaded but never installed for quite a long time already....I asked a friend of mine the other day to use the program to back up her computer drivers using it so we could determine how exactly it works, and if the results were what I hoped for, she could then burn the folder to a cd. The reason I had her do this was because she had put in a new harddrive that I had already installed windows to for her on my system, which meant that it was configured for my own hardware and not hers by the time she got the drive in the mail from me, and once installed, no amount of playing with the drivers including new downloads would work. So I had her hook up her still available old drive, run this program and burn the files to a cd so once the new drive was hooked back up again, those drivers could be used since they worked fine on the old drive.
I was massively impressed with the outcome and saw the real potential for having all working drivers available for any new installations for anybody in that kind of situation of having to format the drive and starting over....
In winamp, all my songs that are in my music folder all have the same, incorrect album art unless they are in another subfolder with their own album art.I narrowed down the problem to the fact that when I put my documents folder into thumbnail view, the art appears on my music folder, rather than the default my music folder icon.I have looked everywhere in this folder for this image, which was originally on some music my brother was downloading and deleted a long time ago and cannot see a way of restoring it back to normal.
This is what it is like in my document and the album art on the my music folder is on every song inside that isn't in a subfolder:gured out why. I had to turn on display system files and delete them manually. I guess I shouldn't have just tried show hidden files

Looking under 'properties' it says there are 0 bytes, 0 files, 0 folders. But when I hit delete on the Milk Drop folder I get a message saying the "Directory is not empty". I've uninstalled, reinstalled and uninstalled Winamp to no effect. The main problem is that it prevents Norton Systemworks running properly. It gets stuck when doing the system (registry) checks and when running Windoctor Wizard it stops as soon as it reaches the MilkDrop folder.
I have a folder that I can not delete. I had a bunch of folders with music files in them. I was re-arranging, renaming, and deleting them. At the end of the day, there was one folder that I could not delete from the recycle bin. When I tried to empty the recycle bin, it would delete files until it got to this one. Then I would get the message:(Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk). I would then have to go into the recycle bin and delete the remaining files manually. But this one would still not delete out of the recycle bin.

I deleted all the folders from my desktop except one. I keep getting this error message that I cannot delete this particular folder because it is being used by another person or program and to close any programs that might be using the file and try again. I've closed all programs and no one is using this file and still I can't delete it. I have Windows XP Home Edition.
