My Music Folder Image - Restoring It Back To Normal?
Sep 25, 2008
In winamp, all my songs that are in my music folder all have the same, incorrect album art unless they are in another subfolder with their own album art.I narrowed down the problem to the fact that when I put my documents folder into thumbnail view, the art appears on my music folder, rather than the default my music folder icon.I have looked everywhere in this folder for this image, which was originally on some music my brother was downloading and deleted a long time ago and cannot see a way of restoring it back to normal.
This is what it is like in my document and the album art on the my music folder is on every song inside that isn't in a subfolder:gured out why. I had to turn on display system files and delete them manually. I guess I shouldn't have just tried show hidden files
I have been updating my winamp thumbnail database with all the associated album art. Every so often, I run into a little problem. When I add a new image to a band's folder and rename the image "folder.jpg" I get an error message stating that I "cannot rename the file because there is already another with the same title" or something along those lines. This typically happens with albums I have previously added album art through with my "Zune" (mp3 player).
Im mad that my My Music folder is empty, how do i put my windows media player music in it? whenever i download music i just go to "Add to windows media player", how do i bring that to "My music"
I did I make a ghost image of my xp system (7 gigs), and I want to use that image to install on 2 other systems.BUT,as you know xp takes an image your system so you can not put ehe hard drive into another ssystem and have it work. I install in on to a different system, and in took great(installed with on problems) but know as soon as I restart I can here it but it goes driectly to the safe mode, last best configuration, start window normal screen.
After messing around with some 3rd party software, my XP pretty much crashed¦missing task bar, can’t move files (paste option gone), F5 (search) only see that little dog on the bottom, cant install or uninstall programs (error saying something about Windows installer is not working), Safe mode doesn't work, and the list goes on.My only option (with my knowledge) was to re-install XP. Luckily, few days before the crash, I backed up All information in this computer” using Windows system tools.
i got somethin that is called ''A delayed writing failed''(my translation?) at E: S(with dollar tag over S)mft chkdsk manage to repair and delete the bad filepost-segement so i could acces the drive again. but now the problem is thath around 150 Gb of files has instead got hidden on the drive and can't be directley accesed with windows explorer..the files are recovered by chkdsk and the files works
however I can acces thoose files with Nero Burning Room LOL and R-Studio Data Recovery for example.first i tryed to copy thoose files to another hardrive with R-studio and back to orginal harddrive. the problem is that thoose hidden 150 Gb:s is still left on the drive.so my discspace is insufficient to succed to copy them back
In previously highlighted issues regarding backing-up shared documents to my Seagate Freeagent hard drive, I simply decided to move the My Music Folder from the shared documents folder, but Windows is disallowing me from doing this stating that My Music is a Windows system folder & cannot be renamed or removed? Any help please on getting around this to move My Music from the shared documents? I'm running XP with servce pack 3.

I have Window XP Home with SP2.I have swapped to a new hard drive (not done this before)Old drive was 80g Sata and new drive is WD 500g Sata.I formatted new drive and set as addition storge as it was in D. Then I coppied C onto D using WD lifeguard tools.I removed C and swapped leads for PC to read previous D as C and the drive to boot from. Now on boot the PC as to select Windows Defalt on a black screen. Selecting this activates Windows and all seems to work ok.How do I get back to normal startup. I still have original C drive to go back to if needed.I tried adding line in boot ini so that it would start on windows and all that did was to give me 2nd option for Windows XP and when I selected that it said a file was missing.
changed the color around the desktop icons to black. Not a major deal but it bugs me. I have no clue how to get it back to the transparent like normal. Tried to change themes but its like that on all of them.
I have a Compaq Duo Core notebook, with 1GB ram and 100 GB HD. Running Win XP SP2. I have a lot of programs on the system and over the last week or so, I've noticed that the computer is very slow.I use a program called Cleanse Uninstaller which has a junk file finder. I've used it to "analyse" what could be taken off and it presented me with a list of over 200 files. But which ones can I actually remove?? Furthermore, will this actually have a beneficial effect on the speed? Also, I have Norton ghost 12.0. and an external drive of 120 Gb. I've been doing incremental backups of "my computer" and certain essential files. Everything appears to be working okay.
laptop would start acting sluggishly after a while of using it. This problem occurs at very random intervals but once it is occurred, the performance stays sluggish until the restart. Once I restart the laptop, the problem goes away until later when it repeats again. Sometimes this problem would not occur for 2 days.Mouse movement represents "stuttering" Dragging windows is not smooth. Window drags very slow, leaving half of image in the original spot and then "catching up".Program loading times seem unaffected. Playing music files during the performance drop produces delays in sound Running any videos during the performance drop produces "freeze and go" effect on videos.
I have installed a program that acts like a docking station (like a Mac's menu). The location of this dock is where the start menu is, and I minimized the start menus. Only except, every time I restart my machine, the start menu is back to its normal size. I am using Win2000.
I'm going to start off with my whole process on how I did this. I am performing this in a Compaq SR5310F Desktop computer that originally came with Vista Home Premium:Within Vista, I opened the Disk Management utility. I then shrunk the volume and left myself with exactly 40GB of unallocated space for my XP installation. I then booted from my XP Pro cd, selected that unallocated space, formatted it using NTFS, then installed XP. It copied all the files fine, but when it reboots to launch the GUI of the installation, I get a message saying, "Error loading operating system"
Ok hereS the problem... I'm using Windows XP Home edition with SP 2, I was having some problems with my Mcafee anti-virus software, so I booted up in Safe mode (using msconfig) to do a system virus scan. Once I did that, I tried to load msconfig to get back into normal mode, but i kept getting an error saying I must be logged in as the Administrator to do it, Which I was. Can someone please help me get back into normal mode so I don't have to reformat? Also: I do not have system restore enabled so that is not an option.
solution to a System Restore that will no longer do so on my pooter a two year old XP Home sp2. Used to, doesn't now and used so rarely don't know what might have caused the problem. I was able to complete "cured" the problem-still no Sys Restore. So began to try a different approach to recover in time of problem. But have become confused about which is the better approach. Something like Go Back or something like Ghost or Acronis True Image. I am not locked into any of those-but they seem to be most often mentioned.
I deleted my old user account on my Windows XP Pro machine a few weeks ago and now I no longer have a My Music Folder or a My Videos folder. Either that or it just simply isn't showing up in the Start Menu and is hidden somewhere. Anyone care to help me figure out what's going on here and how I can fix it?
A few weeks ago I decided to move my music library to my external harddrive since my internal drive was nearly full. I stupidly moved my "My Music" folder, which is labled Julie's Music, to my F drive. At first, iTunes operated fine after I moved my music files, but later it could not find the iTunes library and would not open. I tried moving "Julie's Music" back to My Documents on the C Drive. But iTunes still cannot find iTunes library because it cannot find the My Music folder, even though it is there. I also cannot rename my Julie's Music folder back to My Music. It seems to me moving the folder corrupted it and now I can't open iTunes since it can't locate its library.
I am running Windows XP Home Edition, and have gotten help here before from Cheeseball1! (Whom was just wonderful!) Here is the problem...I went to my Music file to listen to some music and my folder was filled with numerous pics of albums and the title on them all started with Album Art. I deleted them and BAM they were back again as copies. As many as 26 each! Do I have a major probem here? Noone else uses the computer but myself and I have no idea where these ALBUM ARTs came from.
I had"My Music" and "My Pictures" folders moved do my F: Drive and "My Documents" to my d: drive but now have formatted my c drive and now am able to change "My documents" to the D drive but am wondering how to change "My Music" and "My Pictures" on the start menu to go to the F: drive as that would be helpful to my system.I have tried to right click the My Music on the start menu but i can only Rename, Copy or see the properties which only lets my share with others.
All of a sudden my 'music' folder is showing up on my desktop. But not in the usual spot. It show all misc items on the top third of my desktop. I don't know how I got it there but there it is.
I am using Windows XP Professional. Basically, whenever I select to view the folders as thumbnails, the title of the folder does not show up. This happened the other day. I think I hit some kind of key combination wrong or something and it caused it to do that
my music folder changed to a picture and i installed tweakUI and repaired the folder icon, but the picture is still there. i also changed the folder options to see if the picture was a hidden file but there wasn't any hidden filed in the'my music' folder. i don't what else to do.
I created a folder on my desktop called County Music. I copied some music to it and when I was done I moved it to my personal folder. So, here’s the weird thing, I get up this morning and startup the computer and there is the County Music folder on the desktop in the exact place that I created it! MMM… I deleted it again and went to work. I get Home and there it is again! The thing is its empty, were as the original folder is full of music.
I have about 7.5g (1400 songs) of music in my music folder. Lately when i try to open up My music from the startup menu it takes around 5 mins for it to open up, cpu usage goes thru the roof and almost locks up. On the other hand if i go to my computer and go to my documents and open up My music thru there it opens up just fine.
I'm trying to use iTunes with my new ipod mini, but the My Music folder on my computer wont grant me access to write anything to it, or alter anything in it and I'm not sure why? It asks me to check whether it has full or write-protection, but it shouldnt have seeing as I am the only user on my computer? anyone be of assistance? its bugging me greatly!

My Music folder is on detail view, with a column for bit rates. It suddenly stopped showing them. The column is there, but no bit rates displayed. Folders within that folder show bit rates just fine.
