Dec 14, 2005I'm getting pretty frequent shutdowns with the below information. When the box re-boots, the message says device driver but never can point which device driver. Can anyone have a look at this and give me some advice?

I tried with all the usb ports on this computer and problem is the same. Even by hooking up a usb keyboard or mouse, computer wont get to the login screen. it keeps on restarting. Jul 4, 2010On my desktop I had partitioned the main Hard Disk into 2 and had XP Pro on one half and Windows 7 on the other.When I used to boot up the PC the windows boot menu came up asking if I wanted to boot to XP or 7.Soon afetr this XP started crashing a lot. So I decided to scrap 7 and I've re-partitioned the Hard Disk into one big lump with only XP remaining.The partition that had 7 on it no longer exists.Why does my PC still start with the windows boot menu when I start it up?It still asks me if I want to boot to windows 7 or an earlier version of windows?Is there a way of stopping this?

System Recovery Fatal Error - No Operating System Found
Sep 12, 2008I tried to do a System Recovery today on my Sony laptop. Got 41% completed and had a fatal error. Options given were Ignore, Retry or Abort. Attempted a Retry. Got a fatal error message and everything locked up. I ended up shutting down and when I turned the computer on again it said no operating system found. Where did I screw up?
This is a six year old Sony, XP, AMD 1.0Ghz. Everything was working at the time I tried the System Recovery EXCEPT I was constantly getting low space messages for drive C. I have no files on this drive and very little software. It is a 20G hard drive partioned into two 10G partitions.

Dec 13, 2006 have a gateway MX6453 notebook.
I was having problems with it constantly rebooting it self. finally got it to boot in safe mode, couldn't really find or fix anything. tried to restart in normal mode, and did the restarting as soon as windows started to load.
Thought I would try system revovery at the boot menu. It started up and started to run and kept giving error msgs about not being able to read or open files. (all files are on recovery partition). Well it frooze up about half way. Tried to run it again, and it starts to load and then BSOD.
here is what i get

The system has been shut down.
I want to know if this is something I maybe able to repair, or if i should send it back to gateway?

Apr 1, 2009Received this message, Error Loading Operating System, when installing Windows xp pro? After loading the installation files from the CD, windows xp shuts down and reboots to continue loading a fresh install of Windows from the installation files onto the HD.Instead of loading the installation files an error message hangs the installation and reads Error Loading Operating System.The installation files are loaded, but Windows xp won't load up? Looked around the forums and searchs and no one had a definitive answer to solving this issue of Error Loading Operating System.
