Computer Stop After Shows Operating System Is Loading
Sep 19, 2005
My SIL has messed this up badly. I am very good at following directions and usually figuring out computer problems, but now I can't do anything. The computer boots, shows windows XP loading and then stop. No error message. No blue screen. NOTHING. Just empty dark blackness. And I am at a loss what to do. I know they have viruses on their computer and I was trying to help them get the computer fixed. Now I dont know what to do.
This error comes up no matter how I try to boot my Computer.Disable or uninstall any anti viruse, disk defragmanation or backup utilities... Then it goes on like that, and the technical information: STOP: 0x00000024 (0x001902FE 0xF7CDE6DC 0xF7CDE3D8 0xF731BF81) It started happening after I ran the new AVG Free 8.0 virus scanner. So maybe that's the problem? So far I haven't been able to even run in safe mode to disable it.
I'm trying to fix my friends Hp and I usually know what im doing. But here I have no idea what to do. I tried going into the bios to change the boot order to cd to format and I can't. Can anyone tell me what to do.I changed out his hard drive with mine and it does nothing. just posts and goes to a black screen instead of trying to boot and blue screening as it usually do when you change hardrives between two computers.Changed the Ide cables no luck.
Some time ago I booted up my computer,to find that my XP switched to Windows classic style,I didn't take it seriously so I went to properties to change when I get an error message saying there is a problem with run32.dll,not only that, but the visual styles can't load I assume, becuase of run32.dll,so now I'm stuck with the piece of s*** style.
Tried to repair my xp pro but just wouldn't fix so had to do a re-over. all is well cept i have continuous run-tine errors on different pages. here is an error i got today :Error A Runtime Error has occurred.Do you wish to Debug? Line: 0 Error: Object expected,Yes/No.
I am trying to install Windows XP Pro on a second hard drive in my computer, but when i insert the disc it says something about setup scanning the system or something of that nature. Then the screen goes blank and doesn't do anything else. The reason why I dont want to just upgrade is because some things I use dont play nice with XP pro and I want a clean install of it. How can I get my computer to install this second OS properly?
Received this message, Error Loading Operating System, when installing Windows xp pro? After loading the installation files from the CD, windows xp shuts down and reboots to continue loading a fresh install of Windows from the installation files onto the HD.Instead of loading the installation files an error message hangs the installation and reads Error Loading Operating System. The installation files are loaded, but Windows xp won't load up? Looked around the forums and searchs and no one had a definitive answer to solving this issue of Error Loading Operating System.
My friends son has a presario 900, i hate this thing by the way, it keeps crashing on him. this time its comming up as error loading operating system. using google is how I found your site. but anyway the compaq screen comes up, then the error loading operating system comes up and I cant get it to do anything else. it also won't let me format to start over.
I got this problem that my computer just stops when loading WindowsXP I got the Computer today and i installed WindowsXP but when i try to start up the computer just it freezes while loading. I tried to re-instal it but still it again freezes.
stop device will not run in this operating system.... I get this message at the start up of my computer and will not continue to boot up until I clear it.
i am trying to install winxp on my wifes older computer....now it is older but it does meet all of the winxp hardware requirements for installation....3 times now it has seemed like it was going to take the installation but I keep getting different stop errors....the 3 I have gotten so far are 0x00000024; 0x000000D1; 0x0000008E .....does anyone know what is going on so i can install winxp already.
On my desktop I had partitioned the main Hard Disk into 2 and had XP Pro on one half and Windows 7 on the other. When I used to boot up the PC the windows boot menu came up asking if I wanted to boot to XP or 7.Soon afetr this XP started crashing a lot. So I decided to scrap 7 and I've re-partitioned the Hard Disk into one big lump with only XP remaining. The partition that had 7 on it no longer exists. Why does my PC still start with the windows boot menu when I start it up?It still asks me if I want to boot to windows 7 or an earlier version of windows? Is there a way of stopping this?
When i turn on my pc i get this message.Stop c0000269 {Illegal System DLL relocation}The system DLL Kernel32.dll was relocated in memory .application not run properly relocation occurred becuase DLL c:windowssystem32GDI32.dll ocuppied address range reserved for windows system DLL's. I have 2 computers (well more than that but for this i have 2) One works and one doesn't. I took the hard drive out of the working one and put it in the non working one as the master. (BTW on the non working one its just the hard drive that is working properly) I put the hard drive from the non working one as the slave so i can try and get some files off of it and format it. So I boot up the system and the computer recognizes it but then i get an " Error Loading Operating System" error.
My computer tries to boot, it takes a while to detect anything from the CD-ROM (my first boot priority), and then when it detects the IDE, it says "error loading operating system" and after that I can't do anything but restart or shut down. I am running Windows XP Professional and it will load with a boot disk, but if I take out the boot disk it won't load.
When doing an XP windows re-install. I am getting the error "Error loading operating system" I was formating the drive with XP and it stopped. Now when rebooting to go to CD for install I get the Error.
I am using a Gateway Tablet PC. XP PRO; 2Gig ram; 80 gig hd; Within the last few days it has fallen apart. I have added nothing new. I boot it on and all seems well. I can run an app, work in it and then close it. Then the mouse freezes or slows to a crawl. I can not open any thing else. I registered several DLL's such as urlmon.dll,etc. because of a Micrsoft fix listed elsewhere but this did not work. All spyware and virus checks have been negative. CTRL-ALT-Del gives me an error that the taskmgr.exe could not be initialized. Now the only way to shut down is to totally power off and if reboot I get the blue screen while the disk is checked and it is always negative
Since I installed SP2 everything seems OK except I now notice that some web pages will load only part way then stop loading. If I use Firefox and go the same page it loads immediately. Is there some security setting I should aware of that prevents some pages from loading? The last page I had a problem with was one associated with Paint Shop Pro - hardly a suspicious website. I like Firefox, but unfortunately my password manager (Norton) doesn't work with it.
How do I stop Quicktime from loading? I've tried MSConfig and services.msc.I can't see it referenced anywhere. I don't want to uninstall it - just want it not to startup when Windows starts up.
I've got a few things that I can't stop from loading on start-up. I don't use the programs (or very rarely use them) so I just end up right-clicking on them on the toolbar to stop them. I tired going into the options for each program to stop them from loading on start-up but can't find a way to do it.
Is there a way to view what loads on start-up so I can remove them from the list?
Ok I feel as if all i had is lost. I was playing a game and I rebooted my computer. When i went to start it it went to the a blank blue screen before the account screen in the beginning of XP . I know i can restore to new but i will have lost so much information that it would take about 3 months to retain it all back. It says it can not find operating system
I had dreams of networking the 2 computers together. The library computer came with Windows 98 on it. In my ignorance I took my Windows XP disk that came with my current computer and loaded that onto the library computer. I thought it was like a music CD, where you can use the same disk in all the products that you own. I found illegal to load one operating system onto 2 computers using the same disk. I bought a Windows XP upgrade from Office Max yesterday for the library computer. I have been told though that I need to have Windows ME or 98 or some older version on the computer for the Windows XP upgrade to work. Since I've already put the XP on the library computer it doesn't have 98 on it anymore. win ME or 98 disk from a friend that has upgraded to XP if they have one laying around.
My computer was locked down by microsoft due to not activating and for some reason i couldnt activate it over the phone. So i decided to , reformat my computer with the Windows XP Professional SP3 on this site and the XP Gamer's edition if the first one didnt work. So i installed the first one and it seemed to have worked perfectly, but when it restarted my computer, it went through the whole first step AGAIN. i thought that it might be normal so i kept going through it. Then it went through it AGAIN, now i knew something was up
I was having issues with spyware, and got those taken care of. But now, when I turn on the computer to log into windows, i get to the welcome and it starts to load windows. it loads the wallpaper, and then nothing. it'll just sit there. Short of reformatting,
I installed a second version of Windows XP on my computer. If memory serves, I installed it on the same directory as my original operating system. I uninstalled it shortly thereafter however, every time I boot up, the computer asks me which copy of XP I want to use. This despite the fact that I have since totally reinstalled windows and even replaced the physical hard drive. How can I get it to stop asking for an operating system that no longer exists?
i am on a mac but recently used bootcamp to install win xp professional 2002. when i installed it i used my product key and it worked fine and everything ran smoothly. but when i went to activate windows it said i had used all of the uses of the product key. i remembered i had used it three times and understood that but now i am wondering do i have to reformat to use a new product key or just enter a new one where it tells me to enter it. also if i can like take a product key off another computer or do i have to buy it. if i do have to buy and reformat should i get home or professional
I know you all are always up to date onto personal computer things and news about it.But lets fly up the imaginations, and wonders.Lets say, There's a new windows version, the newest, the 2008.What would you hope that in that version would appear? What hopes you have! what do you think it will appear.
