Computer Boots Up To Blue Windows Setup Screen

A while back I tried to reload the entire WinXP and start from scratch due to some viruses and what not. Before I could complete the process, I decided to try to fix the problems one last time. It Worked. Now when I turn the computer on It automatically directs me to a blue windows setup screen. In order to start WinXP I must manually select windows in the three second time limit.How do I get my computer to automatically start windows at start up?

Before this problem came about, I fixed the Windows error ""Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:" using Windows XP Recovery Console.I cannot anymore access the Recovery Console since it already requires the administrator password which is I think one of the bugs of older Windows XP versions. I cannot upgrade to Service Pack 2 since I cannot access Windows.I really need to access the files in this computer. Reformat is not an option.

whenever I start the Laptop it goes to a blue screen and there is a stop error and just stays there until i have to manually restart then goes to the blue screen again.I stupidly pressed install when a pop-up came for the anti-virus xp 2008 spyware came up and since then tried to get rid of it and after a few restarts I got the blue screen.Is there a way to fix this? I'm fine with reinstalling windows but dont know how form here or if it will fix the problem.

By trying to reconnect to the internet I messed up Windows 2000 Pro by trying to add a Windows component under add remove programs. I think I tried to add Network services and Other Windows Networking file and print services. One thing to note, I do not have any win2000 setup or recovery CDs. Now when it boots, it goes to a blue screen after booting up with no Icons. It will however, boot into safe mode with icons if you hit F8 but I don't have a clue on how to correct the regular boot up problem. The windows 2000 pro machine hooks up (when it works OK) wirelessly to a Netgear router which is running as an access point that is piggy backed to Lan #4 on a d-Link router which has 2 other machines hardwired to the D Link router. I also have a wireless Dell Laptop which hooks up with no problem to the access point.

My HP laptop, model ZE4800 will not boot into XP. When you start it, it goes to the dreaded blue screen, and then restarts. We have tried all the "safe mode" options, but get the same result.If you try to press F2 or F10 when it starts, all we get is a loud beeping sound.Does anyone have any idea how to get this thing up and running? My daughter has a major school project on the drive, and she'll be devastated if she has to redo it at this point.

On boot up the process seems normal through the Microsoft "Welcome" screen and start up music. Then the Blue screen of Death appears. Only the mouse pointer is visible. After approximateyl 45 to 60 seconds of this the boot completes and the desktop appears with the icons. This happens maybe twice out of 10 boots.

2 SATA Raid hard drives with striping.I'm having problems installing Windows XP Pro on my machine. When we first started to install the OS on the machine, I kept getting a blue screen error message before it boots into setup saying ERROR 0X0000007B. And then after that it started showing up book disk failure. Instead of SATA we tried just one EIDE HD, we switched memory, new cables, new powersupply, we switched the vcard. And just recently we finally switched the Motherboard. Now when we boot off disc we get an error message saying "boot disk failure". So we ran a boot setup windows xp floppy. It gets all the way to where it asks for "please insert windows xp installation cd" and when I do it doesnt recognize it but I hear the CD spinning. We've switched out the CD-roms with 2 different ones and still can't get any progress.

What happens for me is I can't even start up my computer because i get the blue screen as windows starts up. I don't know if my hard drive is still going to work or not. Anybody know what to do?

I'm trying to solve a video issue on my friend's pc with windows xp home. He just bought a new video card (Ati 9550 256mb AGP) and he ended up disabling the old video card in device manager. Now, no matter if he installs the new or old card, the screen goes black right before it goes into the desktop. He can hear sound, such as the windows sound. He went into bios, but there's no video options, as this is a custom built PC. He tried to go into safe mode, but that doesn't work..same black screen.

Having suffered 3 HDD failures, I have cloned my laptop hard drive (XP Home edition) with Norton Ghost 9.0. I have copied the MBR as well and made it active. Replaced the laptop drive with the cloned drive, but it only boots up to the XP light blue screen and stalls.

I'm trying to install windows, i have installed it before with no problems. I'm trying to install windows on the second partition. Setup always freezes at the blue screen where all of xp's new features are being listed. Sometimes it freezes at 33, 25, and sometimes 13. I have tried several times.I am doing a clean install on the second partition, formating the drive.

My XP computer (Dell dimension 5000) has been playing up alot recently and now after going to blue screen once more i can no longer boot up at all, Now everytime i boot up, my computer loads up untill the windows logo (splash?) screen and then goes to blue screen almost instantly. Now i would try and reinstall XP using the CD but i cant find it ANYWHERE, i do however have a vista startup disc. Ive tried booting the computer with the vista CD then pressing F12 to go to the boot up menu. However when i select "onboard USB or CD_ROM drive" e message appears below, "fress f1 to continue or f2 to run setup utility" then when i press f1 to continue another message appears below saying press f1 to reboot and f2 to run setup utility. pressing F1 gives the same message and f2 takes me to this blue screen with setup information and other options. Basically i cant get my computer to load up at all, and seeing as ive lost the XP disc (careless i know) is it possible to install vista on it rather than reinstalling XP? If not does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can fix my computer, or at least get it to boot? I have tried running it in safe mode nd last known good configuration and all that but still no success, i ran a few diagnostics which said the hard drive is fine. I'm totally clueless in this department so a step by step.

I recently have built a new PC using parts i ordered and parts from my old system which desperately needed to be replaced. After my new system was created it ran well for about a month. When i came to turn on my PC one day i was greeted by a blue screen telling me that my windows registry files became corrupt. I used Microsoft.com's fix using the setup disk and had my PC working again. About a week later i was surfing the net and soon every program i accessed started to become corrupt. Knowing i didn't wanna mess with any log Microsoft fix i simply formatted and reinstalled windows XP on my system.

I tried to reformat from the XP CD and from a boot disc floppy. Each time the process gets stuck at: Windows Setup.There is nothing else on the blue screen. It won't go past there to the agreement section...or anything else This system was a custom built computer, given to my mother-in-law about 3 years ago. The company has since gone out of business. It was built w/ XP Professional SP1 and has since been upgraded w/ SP2.Outlook express stopped working properly and would shut itself down as soon as it was opened. Then the dial-up connection would connect but no internet explorer pages would load.

When i turn on,first Windows screen appears,then a blue screen blinks,then hp screen,then a blank page with cursor on the top left,then a screen with the message"we apologise for the inconvinience but Windows did not start successfully.there was a hardware or software problem.I tried to run it in Safe mode, Windows normally,last known configuration but no luck......Then someone suggested to Get into the Recovery Console by making a Recovery CD with ISO image but the machine is not responding to any of it.Is it with CD/DVD ROM drive or any major hardware problem???...I ran a self hard drive test and it seemed fine

In the past, I have used the S-video port (with RCA adapter) in a dual view setup with my TV. I recently reinstalled Windows XP and now I can't get the secondary display (the TV) to work correctly. I just get a bunch of black & white lines moving up the screen (looks like bad reception/static on a TV). The weird thing is that the TV displays everything fine during the bootup process, including the loading screen with the Windows XP logo. Full color and everything. It's when Windows actually starts that the TV freaks out. Another weird thing is if I use nVidia's TV setup Wizard and select "Span," the image on the TV actually stabilizes. But I am forced to keep a low resolution on the monitor (which wasn't the case before I reinstalled XP), and as soon as I make any other changes the TV goes back to freaking out.

so when i start my computer everything goes fine until, the windows xp screen comes up when it loads then the bar freezes and a blue screen pops up saying."check for any viruses. remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers check your hardrive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. it also says to check for hardrive corruption.the strange thing is, is that i can run bart pe tools and access my hardrive but i cant start my computer regular idk.

Almost every time when I shut down my computer from windows I get a blue screen for a less than a second and than my machine restarts.After that on the log on windows after pressing shut down button I manage to shut it down.This issue is from a long time.
But recently I have problems starting my PC.It is unable to start windows.I tried to restart it many times.Same result.Finaly after starting in safe mode which was also dificult (many tries) the Windows started normaly.What could I do stoping this and I 'd like to find out what is causing my PC problems?In my system event viewer the latest error is "system error" event 1003 with these parameters.

I tried to install windows xp professional. When it is installing the os in the blue screen. A pop up says. I tried to reinstall my windows xp because it couldnt boot up because it say that my drv.sbd got corrupted or missing file so i try to reinstall the os but problem popped up.The file AFw.Sys (unknown) is needed and they ask me to browse it for the path file but i cant find it nowhere. And then it says The exception unknown software exception (0XC0000409) occurred in the application at location 0X6976Ea96

I just bought a new hard drive for my computer because with the old one I was having problems with creating a new partition and installing XP... so I figured the Hard Drive itself was the problem. Anyways, I have the new drive hooked up, I run windows XP setup and it loads all of the files. It finishes and says "setup is starting windows" after this my screen goes black, the computer restarts and the cycle repeats.

windows starts up normally, i just log on and do nothing at all, everything is normal for about an hour or so ,then BOOM, screen goes black and the system crashes with a nasty blue screen it clearly indicates a registry error, i've been told not to mangle with the registry, i have made a registry backup prior to upgrading to WMA 11 though.

The computer would load with large icons and large screen. after that the windows security alert comes up. RIght now its doing a total system scan. It says 156 total objects infected. If i purchase the malwarebytes anti malware will that fix the security alert along with the blue screen error? This morning it tells me it has recovered from a serious error, but after about 5 minutes of seemingly normal usage, it briefly flashed some kind of blue screen error (no way in hell I could read it)Now it is constantly asking for a chkdsk, I let it run and all appears OK... but when I get to the login screen the display starts to look weird like there are lines running through it, and it promptly flashes the same blue screeen and starts all over again.
I have been able to briefly get into safe mode, tried a system restore but when I went to reboot the processes started all over again. PLEASE NOTE that getting into safe mode takes some patience.... it hangs FOREVER when loading the agpCPQ.sys driver, and sometimes just goes ahead and reboots on it's own.. TWICE so far today I have managed to get into safe mode, but only for a few minutes before it reboots and starts over.

when i get my Dell Inspiron E1705 to boot from my windows xp cd it goes through the screen where xp is trying install all the raid drivers etc.. before i can actually access my two hard drives delete them and create a new partion. right when its about to get to that screen i get the blue screen of death. well i have been reading around i read that going into my bios and changing my hard drive config to sata auto detect will fix my problem.
well i went into my bios and i do not have any sort of options when it comes to my system to hard drive configuration so im assuming if i do not have this feature or option that i have a IDE hard drive not sata. so if this is my situation how do i get my computer to stop going to the blue screen of death before i get to the screen where i can delete my partion

I am facing problem is starting my laptop.I get a blue screen saying windows have been shut down to avoid damage.And then it says 'UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME'and says this is caused due to new software or hardware installed. I have not installed any such application/software or hardware.
