Feb 17, 2013I have a new lap top with windows 8 .I do not know how to see the time and date. It suddenly appears on lower left for some reason but I cannot see where to access it when I want it.

Removed Date And Time From Taskbar?
Feb 25, 2013Either way, the other day I accidentally removed the date and time from the bottom right hand corner of the Windows 8 taskbar. I did this when i was trying to set the time from the Windows defaulted US Pacific Time to US Eastern Standard Time. How to get it back on the taskbar. Why my Java location on my computer is saying that it is "corrupted". I think it is related to Windows 8 upgrade.

Jun 29, 2014I have saved numerous files to my hard drive which I am now going back through in trying to put the proper dates that they were made (most of them are audio files; but there are definitely files from every category) and for the most part, I am able to get all of the information that I needed just by right clicking on the file, scrolling down to "Properties" and then selecting the "Details" tab. Nevertheless, for some reason, a good 25-40% of them show a completely inaccurate date. So my question is: any failsafe/foolproof way of finding the correct date in question and on top of that, knowing whether or not that date is actually legitimate; whether that be with the use of some outside program, a command prompt, or some other shortcut?

Jul 29, 2013I keep loosing the date/time main screen area after the computer is idle for any extended period of time.
When I move the mouse to log back in I get the main screen, but no time/date on the left side and I cannot log back in, no keys work.
I have to turn the power off and then re power up - then the time/date etc re appear and I can log in.
I already re freshed as instructed by Acer Tech support- but that didn't work.
I have a acer aspire laptop- 771-6865.

Dec 6, 2012I recently installed Windows 8 Pro on my Acer Aspire 5515 notebook. I set the time and date on the desktop clock, and every time I log in, the time and date are wrong and I have to reset them again. I have a dual boot setup with Windows 8 on one partition, and Ubuntu 12.10 on the other.
It doesn't appear to be an issue with the hardware of my computer, because the time and day stay set in Ubuntu. Some time ago, I was running a boot time diagnostic, and I got a warning the the was not timer connected to the apic...but that's all I could read before the message disappeared, I researched what I could and learned that this could and learned this had something to do with a physical component of my processor or related to my processor, but was unable to find out any more. As far as I know, this is the only hardware problem I have, and I thought this might be the cause of my erratic time/date.

Win 8.1 - System Date Changes Frequently?
Feb 11, 2014I have installed Win 8.1 on my PC. I have noticed the system changing after sometime to the next day and the time also changes to 12:00AM. When I go to Date and Time setting by clicking "Time and Language", I find the "Set Time Automatically" option disabled and it is set to "ON".
I think it is synchronising automatically from the internet time server. I have my time zone also correctly to my region.
Blank Date Modified Field?
Nov 9, 2013Some of my movie files (file type doesn't matter) became corrupted; when I play them in VLC they cause errors, they were just fine before and nothing has changed. I noticed in Explorer that these files have no Date Modified field, it's simply blank; I've never seen anything like that.
I did a chkdsk on the drive and see no errors. What could it be ?

Oct 23, 2013After making clean install of Windows 8.1 (before I had Windows 8) then my laptop started to hang from time to time.
Selecting tiles in Start screen with keyboard is normal as it used to be , mouse moves normally but HDD light is not on or blinking. Clicking with mouse does do nothing.
When I click fast many times then it finally opens App from Start screen on a program in Desktop mode but everything is slow for 3-4 min. Then it automatically works as it should be, like nothing would be wrong.

Dec 30, 2012I just installed Windows 8 as an update from Windows 7. After the installation I chose a background color, I set a password and after that there was a black screen. I was able to move the mouse around and after 20 minutes I rebooted. However, it shows the black screen within two seconds, nothing works. I have tried to boot into safe mode but also that doesn't work.
