Odd Windows 7 Installation Errors

Feb 7, 2012

I took a client's HDD, which could not install Windows 7 due to lack of CD drive, and tried to install Win 7 using my home PC. At first, I tried to install but the installation disk said it couldn't locate the correct directory. I then unplugged my two personal harddrives whilst keeping the blank one in while the computer was still on. It wasn't until I restarted my PC that I was able to install. But at the set up your PC stage (name your PC, set password, etc) I turned the computer off, hoping to continue the process on the actual PC that I was going to keep it in so my client could customize it. After plugging my two personal HDD's back in, which were working fine just 15 minutes prior to this, I discovered that neither of them could boot. They just hung in the Windows 7 loading page. On safe mode, they would get stuck on classpnp.sys. Now, my computer just says that disk cannot be read, and that I should press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart.

Loads Of Errors After Interrupting Installation IE9?

Oct 7, 2011

Last week I tried to install IE9 after some annoying pop-ups. The installation got interrupted somehow. I didn't care about that because I would never use that browser anyway.

Soon I realised I was not able to use Windows Live Messenger anylonger. After logging in, an error occurs: "Can't find ordinal 379 in DLL-files iertutil.dll" (translated from dutch, so it could be a little different in English). After this error, msn closes directly. I did some research and I read I could fix this problem by editing some internetoptions in the control panel. But when I click on internetoptions, nothing happens.

MSN isn't the only application giving this error. I experienced the same error in some other applications like paint.NET.

Also, I can't open VMWare anylonger. It runs in processes but on screen nothing happens. Skype closes directly after crashing, WOW won't start anylonger,... These are just some of the problems I experienced in the last 6 days.

XP Mode Installation Errors - Verify That Package Exist And Accessible

Jul 6, 2010

I am having trouble installing Windows XP Mode on a Dell E4300 laptop with Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. For the record, I have installed XPM on multiple occasions without any issues at all, until now. Upon launching the XP Mode installer, it starts to deploy the temporary files but hangs at expanding 'sourcesxpm'. Then I get the following error: 'This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package'.

If I try multiple times, I am sometimes able to get beyond that point where the XP Mode setup screen shows up, but then I receive an error during the installation process that says: 'Source file not found: D:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxsourcesXPM. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it'. I've checked everything I could with no avail permissions, Hardware Virtualization. I also installed it on an identical machine with the same setup. Then I got a hunch that the Windows Installer might have been corrupted. So I ran the command to un-install it (msiexec /uninstall) & got the same error message as above.

Asus P9x79 Ssd Installation With New Installation Of Windows 7 Pro?

So i have a new SSD Corsair Force 3 240 gig and all I want to do is install Windows 7 Pro on it. This board does not support parted magic (cannot wake from sleep and there are no onboard video to wake up to) so ive resorted to clean all.I have not been able to successfully boot the OS on the SSD. I never intended on setting up raid but apparently all the literature i see is on raid. I created a USB install disk as reccomended onto a 8gig ntfs primary active did the bootsect /nt60 X: and it successfully worked copied the cd over to the flash drive and copied the rste drivers in a folder called drivers My SSD is installed on port 1 6gig sata intel (as this board doesnt have marvel apparrently) My DVD is installed on 3gig Sata port 6 I set up Raid in the bios as reccomended by others (as this is the only way to install ssd?).

Nothing UEFI is enabled There are no other drives hooked up to the computer. Just SSD, USB cordless mouse, keyboard and no network cord or WIFI i started with a clean ssd as reccomended my bios recognized the ssd on post i booted into the win 7 install (MBR not uefi) i loaded the 64 bit rste drivers from asus as reccomended by others i left the machine to install the usb then booted into windows install (for whatever reason) i pushed f8 to boot my corsair windows brings up an error on a black screen File: windows/system32/drivers/adpahci.sys driver did not load Status: oxc0000221 Info: Windows Failed to load because of a critical system driver is missing or corrupt

Windows 7 Validation Errors?

Oct 18, 2011

I just installed a clean copy of Windows 7 professional yesterday (legitimate). I have been plagued with a few problems and they are as follows:Error messages appear when I try to download things, open certain things, etc. A couple of the errors that appear are:When I try to download things like drivers, it will say I need to restart so I do and nothing is fixed. How do I fix these errors?P.S. I checked the validate my windows 7 online when I installed it and windows is activated as "genuine".My second problem is a high pitched noise coming from my motherboard, I believe it might be my ATX 12v 2x4 but I could be mistaken, it is in that general area.ower is not an issue as I am running a Corsair TX 750 and I'm not running anything but an internet browser and a graphics card. More importantly, I used this setup with windows xp and it was fine. The only thing that I changed was that I rearranged the cords and wiring to make the case neater.

What's the problem and how do I fix it?My third problem is that when I right click on the desktop, it takes about 30 seconds for the menu to appear which is ridiculous as my WEI rating is 7.6 (disclaimer: I know WEI is not a proper benchmark but you get the idea). I'm running an SSD (crucial M4 with 0009 firmware), i7 2600k , gigabyte gtx 570 and 16GB of kingston hyper X ram 1600mhz.

Installation Error: Setup Cannot Continue Due To A Corrupted Installation File

Sep 13, 2009

I am installing Windows 7 (Custom installation initiated from Windows XP) but I get the following error message when the installation is on the "Installing updates" step of the installation:

"Setup cannot continue due to a corrupted installation file. Contact the vendor of your Windows installation disc or your system administrator for assistance."

Do you have any idea what the problem may be with the installation? Is there a way to see what file that may be corrupted?

I have tried to burn the DVD in low speed, but the error appears anyway. I have a MSI K8T Neo2-Fir mainboard and the Windows 7 upgrade advisor application says that my hardware is okay for upgrading.

"Windows Could Not Complete The Installation, To Install Windows On This Computer, Restart The Installation"

Apr 16, 2012

First, my laptop is a Aspire 5250-BZ853. I received it back in October, I think...may've been earlier. But anyhow, it was working just fine yesterday until I did a Windows Update. I had to restart, and it was fine again. But then it began running sluggishly slow, and just terrible overall so I restarted it once more and that was when the problems began.

This entire day, this has been driving me nuts. I have important files on here, and I backed up most on my external harddrive a bit ago but there were a few I missed and hadn't the chance to get (ironically enough the most important, papers and such.) At first, it said my password was wrong -- as if someone had changed it! I restarted it once more, thinking it an error or something, and did that again so I restarted it again. Finally, it worked but I think it logged me in as safe mode somehow. After that, it restarted on its own and began this loop. I did a LOT of searching on Google until finally someone suggested to someone else to try pressing "ALT + F10" I think it was as it was starting, and finally I made progress. Before that, it was just going into a constant rebooting loop and I couldn't even log into safe mode. Trying to reset it back to a time it was working was futile, because it said there was no recovery time there! So that shot that idea down. At last, I got somewhere.as well. I clicked the reset to factory settings, but still keep all the files (and they would be saved to "C:Backup" and I thought it had finally worked. But now as it reinstalls, I got an error saying something about how it needed to restart or something...so when I clicked "okay" it began again, and finally it all just came to a stop on "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation."

Windows 7 Ultimate Install Errors

Feb 22, 2010

I bought Windows 7 Ultimate which comes with the 32bit and 64bit dvd's. Right now I have the Windows 7 RC1 32bit installed but as we all know its gonna start acting up in March since it will start to expire. As the computer boots up with the dvd in the drive, all works fine until it starts asking for the dvd drivers. Yes, my drive is IDE. Not SATA. Do I really have to go buy a SATA cabled dvd drive to install windows 7? Second, is the fact that I have a 32 bit OS now, affecting the fact that it can't find the drivers? Is it because it's looking for 64 bit drivers when I have a 32 bit os now? I've already read up on this issue for the dvd drivers and it seems it was coming up alot even before the RTM versions and it seemed that redownloading an ISO was the solution aside from getting a SATA drive. But, I didn't download my copy. I have a real disc. I've already tried switching in the BIOS where my drive is set to RAID and moving it to IDE and then to the other option on there and no luck so far on getting it installed.

Windows 7 Live Mail Errors?

Jun 17, 2012

I've been reading a lot of posts on various sites about Windows Live Mail not opening email links, EG: Application does not exist. I've had this problem my self but none of the posted solutions worked. Consequently i spent hours trying to fix it. Everything was listed in the Default Programs but I still could not open my email links. Then, I noticed in the Mail Options a little notice which said. "Internet Explorer 9 64bit can not be the default browser". Strange seeing as how I'm running Win 7 Ultimate 64bit OS. Also when I tried to install IE 9 32bit I'm told "It's not compatable"My solution was to download an install AU_AMD64_WIN7 from Yahoo. Unlikely as the title seems, it was an IE 9 32 bit install now everything works fine.

BSODs With Multiple Errors Can't Log Into Windows

Feb 4, 2012

I downloaded and played the Diablo 3 beta for my first time. When I got in game, i noticed that every time I tried to move my character, the game would freeze up like 10 seconds. Because this was happening I tried to restart the game. Turns out that didn't help so i proceeded to trying to restart my computer to see if that would help, but as the screen was at the part where it shows that you are logging off, I got a BSOD. I have gotten BSODs before, and simply had to restart while on them to get the computer to run normally, but this time when I got the BSOD and tried to usual method of restarting, I kept getting BSODs that automatically restarted the computer again in an infinite loop of BSODs. To stop it from automatically restarting after the BSODs, I hit the option to make it not auto restart after the BSOD so I can get a look at what it actually said. I noticed that when i was getting the BSODs, the error messages weren't always the same. Some said things like "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION" and "BAD_POOL_HEADER."I also noticed that the number and letters at the bottom weren't the same with every BSOD. Since I am unable to access to my computer's desktop, I couldn't pull a proper log of the errors so I had so i just went ahead and read some and wrote them down by hand.

Multiple Errors When Using Windows Update

May 11, 2012

I have searched everywhere but I have been unable to find anyone having the same problems as I. I am running 64bit windows 7.I have been trying to get the computer to updates, though when I reboot it fails to configure the updates, gets to 35% and always fails with error code 80071AB0. After searching Microsoft Support, some people recommended running sfc.exe to scan for corrupted files, then to fix them and reboot. Well, I found no corrupted files on the drive hence there was nothing to fix. Also, I have tried to download the Microsoft Fix-It and run it, though that is to no avail as well. I have attempted to preform a clean boot with my anti-virus disabled to rule out a software problem and that also didn't change anything. When I open Windows Updates and attempt to install them, I get an 80070643 error.I also get these same errors when trying to install the updates from a downloaded file.

Windows 7 - SFC ScanNow Errors (Unable To Repair)

Nov 2, 2012

Recently I had an issue with Chrome (which is now solved), But during solving the error I done an SFC Scan as it was a windows .DLL that was reporting to be in error and the scan found a few files that were un-repairable.I also downloaded a Windows 7 Installation Disc from Digital River; Here. After extracting the required files from the .iso files with 7-Zip, I changed the ownership of them and 'Moved and Replaced' the old files with the new files.

These are the files I replaced;

autochk.exe
blbres.dll
netcfgx.dll.mui
icardres.dll

winshfhc.dll

I then re-booted in safe mode with CMD Prompt and re-scanned with SFC, but the same files are reporting they are in error. Are they important? Is there another way to repair them? I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, I have attached the most recent SFC Scan.

Getting BSOD Errors After Installing Windows 7 On Laptop?

Aug 1, 2012

Just kind of confused about the BSOD errors. Just installed Windows 7 last night to this laptop and I immediately started getting them. I tried getting debugging tools to read the .dmp files, but that just wasn't working. Then I tried working with BlueScreenView and I accessed all the .dmp files that I've acquired, six in total. Each seemed to have different files highlighted red, though I noticed one file that all of them had been highlighted red; NT Kernel & Systems. My only guess to fix this problem would be to just reinstall Windows, or would there be an easier way to fix this problem?

So I derectly pressed the power button and shut down (while the deletion of earlier C:// drive was going on) my laptop eject the DVD on next boot, but now nothing was appearing after booting. So I again tried to do the same installation but this time the installation was stucked at the windows icon ('Starting Windows' Icon).
