XP Mode Installation Errors - Verify That Package Exist And Accessible
Jul 6, 2010
I am having trouble installing Windows XP Mode on a Dell E4300 laptop with Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. For the record, I have installed XPM on multiple occasions without any issues at all, until now. Upon launching the XP Mode installer, it starts to deploy the temporary files but hangs at expanding 'sourcesxpm'. Then I get the following error: 'This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package'.
If I try multiple times, I am sometimes able to get beyond that point where the XP Mode setup screen shows up, but then I receive an error during the installation process that says: 'Source file not found: D:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxsourcesXPM. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it'. I've checked everything I could with no avail permissions, Hardware Virtualization. I also installed it on an identical machine with the same setup. Then I got a hunch that the Windows Installer might have been corrupted. So I ran the command to un-install it (msiexec /uninstall) & got the same error message as above.
I am getting this <<This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer Package>> Yesterday I clean uninstalled my photo editing programs, Photplus X4 and PanoramaPlus, which are similar to Adobe Elements. The reason was that certain pics would not display, although displayed elsewhere. This morning my attempts to reinstall from the manufacturer's DVD Rom were unsuccessful with the above error.
when i install Ms office 2007 professional in window-7 starter it give error "the language of installation package is not support by your system".what i do for installation
I am running windows 7 sp1 and downloaded the german language service pack.but i can t install it and at the end of the progress it fails, with out mentioning the reason or giving an error.I didn t do that from windows update because i wanted to have the installation file for the future, after reinstalling windows.By the way, i have enough free space on windows drive, have downloaded the same 32- bit as the system, and the installation file doesn t seen to be corrupted.I also try to install it, instead of double-clicking- by going to region and language sections and install from there, but in browse window i can t give the installion file to it and it says that : no valid installation package is founded in this folder.
When I tried to install my Brother MFC J265W I've got message: "Operation could not be completed (error 0x0000070c)." I press OK installation process was still going on and after few minutes I've got another message: " Operation could not be completed (error 0x00000706). The print processor does not exist." The setup finished and after restart in Control Panel my printer didn't shop up and when I tried to print something my printer was not installed. My OS is Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit.
I had 2 partitions C: and D: on my hardisk.I had isntalled Windows 7 on C drive and other personal data on D drive.Since there was some file corruption and also the C drive was almost full(just 1 GB free space) I had decided to format the C drive.I did that and resinstalled Win7 via usb. However now I am unable to access my D drive and says Access is denied.
So brightness works well when i turn on the cmoputer from shut down.I can change it, use mobility center to change it, use power options to change it, use FN + Fx keys to change it.Then i go to sleep mode as i travel around (laptop) and when i turn it back on, the brightness is much dimmed (about 60%) and i cannot change it.In fact, the brightness box in Mobility Center has disappeared..ower options, whenever i use the brightness slider, no effect...N + Fx keys do not work, also. The solution is to either enter hibernation mode, and turn it back on or to Shut Down, then turn it back on.
I am trying to custom/clean install windows 7 64bit and when it restarts after supposedly completing installation it says the system has restarted unexpectedly or I get a blue scree error that causes another restart. This occurs on the 2nd restart after it returns to the completing installation stage
I took a client's HDD, which could not install Windows 7 due to lack of CD drive, and tried to install Win 7 using my home PC. At first, I tried to install but the installation disk said it couldn't locate the correct directory. I then unplugged my two personal harddrives whilst keeping the blank one in while the computer was still on. It wasn't until I restarted my PC that I was able to install. But at the set up your PC stage (name your PC, set password, etc) I turned the computer off, hoping to continue the process on the actual PC that I was going to keep it in so my client could customize it. After plugging my two personal HDD's back in, which were working fine just 15 minutes prior to this, I discovered that neither of them could boot. They just hung in the Windows 7 loading page. On safe mode, they would get stuck on classpnp.sys. Now, my computer just says that disk cannot be read, and that I should press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart.
I lost a few files and so i installed and tried a couple of recovery softwares. Now when i click on the Start menu, or open My computer, or even open any program, it takes a very long time to load. I uninstalled the recovery sfotwares with Your uninstalled program. But the problem still remains.
i had clean installation of windows 7 professional sp1 32, on VAIO VGN-FZ11Z.it is giving me many validation errors here n then, mostly when i launch an application or setup file. I have not installed any drivers for it until now bcz im not finding them. The windows is also flagging for driver of firmware parser driver but im not finding it anywhere on support of Vaio website. Some error messages and snapshot of device manager attached below. Kindly help me out . also tell me which drivers i must install for sony vaio vgn-fz11z for Windows 7.
Last week I tried to install IE9 after some annoying pop-ups. The installation got interrupted somehow. I didn't care about that because I would never use that browser anyway.
Soon I realised I was not able to use Windows Live Messenger anylonger. After logging in, an error occurs: "Can't find ordinal 379 in DLL-files iertutil.dll" (translated from dutch, so it could be a little different in English). After this error, msn closes directly. I did some research and I read I could fix this problem by editing some internetoptions in the control panel. But when I click on internetoptions, nothing happens.
MSN isn't the only application giving this error. I experienced the same error in some other applications like paint.NET.
Also, I can't open VMWare anylonger. It runs in processes but on screen nothing happens. Skype closes directly after crashing, WOW won't start anylonger,... These are just some of the problems I experienced in the last 6 days.
I've encountered a problem when staring Windows 7 in Safe Mode (all 3 of them). It's a bit hard to explain so I took some pictures.
- After selecting any of the Safe Mode options I'm greeted with this: - After pressing Ok, It'll show the usual Log On screen, after pressing on my account I'll receive this:
Then nothing will happen, and it seems to be loading nothing forever. It might be important to note that everything works fine on regular mode and a scan with Microsoft Security Essentials shows nothing suspicious.
I have been having nonfrequent bsod errors for quite a while, and since playing a game of Starcraft 2 today (~3 hours ago) my computer started to constantly bsod. I can not log into windows for more than a minute or two (if that) before it BSOD's again. I am currently posting with my laptop, and the desktop that is BSOD'ing is dualbooting linux (ubuntu) which has no BSOD issues whatsoever. I also ran the memtest that comes with installing ubuntu and no issues were found. Attached are my minidumps.
[code] I couldn't do a health report due to being stuck with safe mode with networking. The BSOD started about two months ago while the gf was using it and didn't happen for me till yesterday. As of now I can get it to start normally but It crashes any time I open anything. I tried swapping ram and no change. I honestly don't know a whole lot about windows 7.
i clean installed new WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL 32bit on laptop SONY VAIO VGN-FZ11Z.Operating system is genuine but downloaded from MSDN. But it is giving me a lot of process validation errors. Genrally these errors are coming on application launch. After that mostly application aborts or restarts.
Errors found. CHKDSK cannot continue in read-only mode. I ran hard disk check... the result is given below........Errors found. CHKDSK cannot continue in read-only mode.
Windows XP English (United States) C: Volume Label: JAYDEEP, File System: NTFS Volume label is JAYDEEP. Advanced SystemCare is verifying files (stage 1 of 3)... 144896 file records processed. File verification completed.
I am totally new to this and am really confused. About maybe a week ago I started having BSOD, plus Windows wouldn't restart after going into Sleepmode, and when I tried to Shut Down it would bring up the shut down screen then just keep "shutting down" with out ever shutting down.
So I read some internet stuff and "Reinstalled Windows 7" and seem to still have the issues.
I keep getting a message on a bluescreen, often when the cpu comes out of sleep mode, that it is shutting down to avoid damage or something. I also often have trouble getting ctrl alt del to work. Recently, we removed several viruses, and hijackers from the computer, that made it so I couldn't even google search, and its only been doing it since then. As I write, malwarebytes said it was removing threats. I have scoured everywhere I could think of and removed almost all unnecessary programs, files and downloads. Could there stll be a virus? Could a previous virus have corrupted the comp irreversibly?
I am trying to update my BIOS to TRY to run my new processor and I keep getting errors like "IHISI get support mode failed" and "The utility has detected your notebook pc was resuming from standby."
I had my PC completely crashed after I got bunch of nasty viruses through Java 1.7 bug couple of days ago.I added new disk and reinstalled Windows 7.I still have old disks cleaned after virus attack so the data is reasonably safe.I had XP Mode VPC in old installation with some pretty complex set of software inside. It will take me a week to reinstate it as I dont have records how did I do it exactly. Is there a way to copy and reuse old XP Mode files seamlessly withing new Windows 7 installation ?
I had to sign for a Windows Live ID, which I did. I then clicked on the button to have it send me a verification email. When I got the email, it gave me a whole bunch of information about using Live ID, but didn't tell me how to verify my account. I went back to the website where I was attempting to post the question, and hit "Sign In." It gave me a place to fill in my emai and password, which I did. It then sent me back to the page where I'd entered my question. But when I clicked on the button to actually post the question up came the box saying I couldn't do that without setting up an account. Then it sent me to the page saying that my account had to be verified, and referred me to the email which was supposed to tell me how to do that, but didn't. This appears to be an endless loop.
I restarted my PC the other day (Dell XPS 8300) and then when it got the the Win7 login screen (the one where user profiles/pictures should be listed) a weird error message in wingdings font appeared. Eventually I learned to use a install/repair disc to use bcedit and bootrec from command line. Oddly, it seemed that my OS drive letter had changed from C: to E: . After a lot of research I removed a secondary hard disc I installed. The drive letter is now right, and the partition size seems right.y problem now is when windows starts I get an error saying that winload.exe cannot be verified. The error code is 0xc0000428. I've tried bootrec /fixmbr, /scanos, rebuildbcd/, /fixboot, with no luck. Same with start-up repair I understand that some people have been able to find a working winload replacement in /windows/system32 (sometimes called winload~1) but I don't seem to have luck.
my laptop started and installed my pc game sims 3 but before i could start told me that the computer couldnt verify whether it was the right game or not this is a brand new game how do i get my gasme to play for me?
i have toshiba satellite A205 win 7 its been freezing a lot lately i dont know why so i tried to install Windows 7 OS again (its not genuine) i usually do this successfully if i get virus but i dont think its virus this time but during the installation it got stuck it passes the copying windows file up to completing installation but it says it needs to be restarted and i did this several times it either hangs up or tells me cannot be installed restart.whenever i start all over again a black screen comes up with listing windows 7 several times asking me to select 1.i select the latest but same thing happens allover cannot access safe mode either i tried to install win 7 ultimate geniune but same thing happens.i also tried the repairing option its not working keeps telling me to restart..i believe its the hdd thats corrupted.i need to get my files.
I am having a problem (see title) and error code 0xc00000428 I am planning to have a a new install or reinstall or a COMPLETE REINSTALL of Windows 7 Ultimate.
I'm having some problems with event viewer. When I go to open it, it gives me the "Event Log service is unavailable. Verify that the service is running." error. I've tried going through the steps Microsoft gives for creating new log files if yours are corrupted. Problem is, the .evt file doesn't exist.
I've researched the problem a lot and I do have UxStyle Core installed which is patching the files necessary to install third party themes, and I have heard that this may cause some issues with the event log, but everyone I saw undo any patching and even rollback updates, go to previous restore points, etc.
