Blue Screen Errors - Computer Shutting Down To Avoid Damage After Sleep Mode
Aug 1, 2012
I keep getting a message on a bluescreen, often when the cpu comes out of sleep mode, that it is shutting down to avoid damage or something. I also often have trouble getting ctrl alt del to work. Recently, we removed several viruses, and hijackers from the computer, that made it so I couldn't even google search, and its only been doing it since then. As I write, malwarebytes said it was removing threats. I have scoured everywhere I could think of and removed almost all unnecessary programs, files and downloads. Could there stll be a virus? Could a previous virus have corrupted the comp irreversibly?

Whenever I put my computer into sleep mode I press the power button once to get it out of sleep mode but when it comes up it has a blue screen with a bunch of errors on it. My computer is custom built. It is a AMD Dual Core (64-Bit) Fresh install of Windows.

I recently put together a new computer and installed Windows 7 on it. Everything seems to work fine, except when I resume using the computer after it goes to sleep, I get a BSOD. When I wake the computer up, it shows me the log-in screen, but when I click on my user profile to log in a blue screen appears. Also, it only seems to happen when the computer enters sleep mode on its own. If I put it into sleep mode, it wakes up with no problems.

I've been having a problem with Windows 7 recently on my new computer that I just got a couple weeks ago. The problem is that my computer will have a blue screen error when waking from sleep mode. I don't see the blue screen at all, instead, when waking from sleep mode, I see the BIOS screen and then it goes through the typical startup process as if the computer had been powered OFF instead of put into sleep mode (however, I know it was properly in sleep mode, as the power light on my tower flashes continually rather than shutting off during this mode). I get the message that Windows did not shut down properly and have the option to boot into safe mode, etc. When I boot back into normal mode I receive a message in Windows saying windows has recovered from an unexpected shut down. [code] However, when I tried to install the hotfix, I was given the message "This update does not apply to your system", which I have read may be an indicator that the update has already been installed? I have run Chkdsk on drive C successfully, and I have installed every available windows update as of today (Apr 14, 2012)

I upgraded my computer from Vista to Windows 7 (tech do it at Best Buy). Didn't have problems until a round mid June. Uninstalled some programs, did scans with Malwarebyts (found a bunch of malicious software), cleaned with ccleaner. Cleaned c drive. Scanned for viruses with micorsoft security essentials (nothing found). When I try to install my new webcam computer shows blue screen with ... windows has shut down to avoid damage and today I it was doing scan for viruses and froze again. Sometimes computer shuts down while simply clicking on a link in a website. A few weeks ago I used ccleaner to clearn up the registry and I fear something may have happened then as I've recently read that one should not mess with the registry. There are some other things I've tried but can't recall at the moment.

I did a reinstall of windows the other day, and just recently I noticed that now whenever I let the computer go into sleep mode overnight, all my active programs have closed when it wakes from sleep mode. I have looked around myself but I can't find any settings that would indicate why it is now doing this.

If I close my laptop, half the time, the computer freezes after I put in my password. It just gets stuck on the welcome screen with the spinning wheel. It doesn't always happen, but I have to do a hard reset everytime it does. I already set the HD to never turn off, so I am just wondering what else i can do to stop this freezing?

I recentley downloaded an alarm clock program by the name of '' Alarm Master Plus '' in evaluation trile. when I shut my computer off, instead of shutting it down I ask for the computer's sleep mode or '' Mettre en veille '' option (in french). The next morning I always find myself in front of the a screen which has two buttons. One says '' Verrouiil '' (locked), and the other one says '' change user '' . When I click on the '' Locked '' button I find myself on my desk with my alarm starting '' Always late

The past couple of days i've been experiencing unusual behaviour from my computer. For the past few days I've been having crashing problems. The crashes aren't all the same however; on a handful of occasions it's given the famous old 'blue screen of death' and on others my computer either just turns off, or the whole computer just crashes. I've noticed the crashes only occur when I turn the computer to 'full peformance' mode after a couple of minutes meaning I'm literally unable to leave power save mode for more than 3 minutes.
I use 'EPU-4 Engine' to switch my computer between 'power save' mode and 'full peformance' mode only using full peformance if I want to play games or install something.
I didn't think much of this at start, as i've never had these problems before 2 days ago. I figured it may have been a faulty driver, so I downloaded specific ones for hardware, but that didn't solve the problem. I then tried a system restore to restore back to a previous date presuming it may have been an update that went wrong, but nothing changed, I still got the crashes.
I run Windows 7 64 bit Home Edition,
AMD Phenom II x4 964,
ATI 5850 Graphics card,
4 GB's of Ram

Over the past few months I began having this recurring problem where the computer goes into sleep mode, next I click the mouse to wake it and the lights and fans go on but the screen stays black. I then have to perform a hard restart where I was usually getting the "start in safe mode" screen, but lately I have also been getting BSODs.

For a while (ever since I updated my BIOS, I think) my computer have been taking around 10 minutes to shut down and after the 10 minutes it shows a blue screen for a second and then it restarts/shutdown. I recorded the computer screen while it was shutting down and was able to take a screenshot of the blue screen. This is what it says: Code: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen. Restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as catching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components , restart your computer, press F8 to select Advances Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

I am totally new to this and am really confused. About maybe a week ago I started having BSOD, plus Windows wouldn't restart after going into Sleepmode, and when I tried to Shut Down it would bring up the shut down screen then just keep "shutting down" with out ever shutting down.
So I read some internet stuff and "Reinstalled Windows 7" and seem to still have the issues.
[code]....

So I generally download games/movies/etc at night when I sleep. Before, my old computer which ran windows XP would go sleep mode over a prolonged period of time but would still download whatever files im downloading. However I recently just got a new computer with windows 7, and every time I go to bed with something I download it seems to stall all computer functions. Whenever I'm Idle for about 30+minutes is when this happens. My monitor goes into power save mode, but my computers still on.Its as if it also shuts off my internet connection while I sleep. as downloads freeze an hour into my sleep. All online games im logged into for my bots to trade will time out in the middle of the night etc.

My Windows is Window 7 64 bit that came pre-installed.I purchased this computer about 2 weeks ago November 2011 and I have never re-installed the OS.I have gotten this particular blue screen error ever since I started installing initial applications into the computer. I just removed Zone Alarm but I still want this application to run on this computer. I am not sure if it is Zone Alarm or another application. I am attaching the BSOD dump and system file collection files as well as the System Health Report.

This has been going on for a couple weeks now, not sure what it is.I'm not very experienced with computers, but I did manage to run and do all the tasking prepared on the main thread to give the information needed.I keep blue-screening, at least twice a week during small minimal tasks such as AIM and firefox usage.[CODE]I recently got the computer from a friend, so I'm not sure on the actual specs myself but I do know it's Windows Ultimate 32-bit.

I got the occasional blue screen of death before, so I reset to factory settings. It didn't help, and may have made the issue even worse, though I haven't used the computer much since I just got a laptop. I have windows 7 64 bit. I had gotten the haplii virus (which redirects my google searches to a different site, it later changed to link to a different site instead) and failed to remove that completely, so I am not sure if that could be causing it or no.
