I am having this blue screen error often occurs during resume from hibernate or sleep. Have been reading bleeping computers.com and figured out where to find the error report, and pasted it below. NO hardware or software changes done, everything seems to be updated from the update advisory. Please help me find a solution, it's getting annoying to have a computer these days and slightest problem.

I'm having a problem where if my laptop is idle and the screen goes black, I can't get it to resume. I try moving the mouse and hitting buttons, but nothing happens. I have to completely shut the PC off and start it again. Also, if I put it to sleep, the same thing happens (it goes black but doesn't sleep or resume). My drivers are all up to date but it still happens.

When the system comes to it will tell me the event name was Blue Screen and that the computer is recovering from a unexpected shutdown.I'm currently running my computer on the High Performance plan and not letting it go to any other mode?By the way, my system is a dual boot with Windows XP. XP is on my main drive and 7 is on my second drive.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Lenovo ThinkPad T400 running a fresh install of Win7 Pro x64 with SP1. I did the clean install as normal, getting necessary drivers from Lenovo and leaving the rest to Windows. In the past this has worked well.
This time I am having an issue where resuming from sleep or hibernate takes longer than starting the system from shutdown. Looking at the event logs it seems to be driver related. I open the lid, press the power button, and I get nothing other than a power light, no HDD access light as usual. This usually takes quite a while. Once I get to the logon screen, it is unresponsive to both password and fingerprint reader. It sits like that for a while and than after logging on everything works fine.
The machine has ran Norton Internet Security 2012 from day 1 and I have no reason to believe that this is malware related.
I have saved the "Diagnostics-Performance" section of event viewer an EVTX file which should be attached to this post. It will open in event viewer.

Whenever I put my computer into sleep mode I press the power button once to get it out of sleep mode but when it comes up it has a blue screen with a bunch of errors on it. My computer is custom built. It is a AMD Dual Core (64-Bit) Fresh install of Windows.

Everything seems to work fine, except when I resume using the computer after it goes to sleep, I get a BSOD. When I wake the computer up, it shows me the log-in screen, but when I click on my user profile to log in a blue screen appears. Also, it only seems to happen when the computer enters sleep mode on its own. If I put it into sleep mode, it wakes up with no problems.

The problem is that my computer will have a blue screen error when waking from sleep mode. I don't see the blue screen at all, instead, when waking from sleep mode, I see the BIOS screen and then it goes through the typical startup process as if the computer had been powered OFF instead of put into sleep mode (however, I know it was properly in sleep mode, as the power light on my tower flashes continually rather than shutting off during this mode). I get the message that Windows did not shut down properly and have the option to boot into safe mode, etc. When I boot back into normal mode I receive a message in Windows saying windows has recovered from an unexpected shut down. [code] However, when I tried to install the hotfix, I was given the message "This update does not apply to your system", which I have read may be an indicator that the update has already been installed? I have run Chkdsk on drive C successfully, and I have installed every available windows update as of today (Apr 14, 2012)

I also often have trouble getting ctrl alt del to work. Recently, we removed several viruses, and hijackers from the computer, that made it so I couldn't even google search, and its only been doing it since then. As I write, malwarebytes said it was removing threats. I have scoured everywhere I could think of and removed almost all unnecessary programs, files and downloads. Could there stll be a virus? Could a previous virus have corrupted the comp irreversibly?

Lately, whenever I return to the laptop having left it alone for some time (Power Management set to 'Sleep' after 10 mins), and try to resume, I can hear the it resuming (fans etc.), however, the screen remains completely black.
The only solution is to shut down the system manually and boot it up again.
i am including the minidump from the latest crash to see if i can get some help with this one, it is driving me nuts. i put the pc to sleep at night and then when resumed in the morning i am either greeted with a smooth working desktop or a bsod. i am at my wits end trying to sort this out, so i will come and ask the experts.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSome weeks ago I made a reinstall of my Win7 Home Premium x64 (a Dell M1330 with 4gb RAM). After then, my machine starts having random BSOD errors when going or recovering from sleep or hibernate mode. The error is a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE, with code 0x0000009f.I attach here the info grabbed with W7F Diagnostic Tool, CPU z pictures and RAMmon html report. If it helps, here is the info I see with WinDbg looking the last minidump.

Because the machine is shutdown, the ping does not give a response. I�ve been using it mainly as an OTA DVR and it does wake up,record, etc.I went to program a recording & it was already awake & the HDD indicator LED was on. However the HDTV had a black screen with a message to select boot device & press any key. This was not a BSOD but a black screen. There was no way to select anything as every time I pressed a key the same message displayed another time. I finally powered off.Another program was scheduled to record at this time but it should not have. It was a series schedule set for new but this episode was not. That�s one strike against the EPG. Anyway it started recording after I booted back up but it was missing the first 40 minutes because I booted up 40 minutes into the program.

I tried the third option, which is changing the value in the registry of the windows. After changing the value, I restarted the computer, which is what I was asked. While I was expecting to see the hibernate option enabled, I ended up with the blue screen. After the windows logo on the start up, blue screen shows up on the screen with dumping the memory. Now, I don't know how I can revert this back. Ok, I don't want hibernate enable anymore but at least I need my windows back.

I see other forums stating about needing a minidumps file, cause the BSOD is really interrupting my lessons in school because I'm using laptop most of the time.

While that was happening I had just started loading a game called League of Legends, had my web browser up, and had a microphone program called Ventrilo all running in the background. Monitor went black and into standby, computer's main light went from blue to orange. When I tried to click on my mouse/press keys on my keyboard it came out of sleep but still no signal from the monitor, I then restarted the computer from it's main switch and still no change. I could hear through my headphones that the computer had booted and made it to the log in screen, but still no monitor signal. The graphics card I'm using in my PCI-E slot at the moment is a Galaxy 450 GTS, been working fine for over 4 months until now (Uses a DVI Cable). At this point I decided to switch out a PCI-E card that uses VGA instead of DVI to see if my chord was buggy knowing that the card is in fully working condition just less powerful, still no change. I plugged my monitor into another computer and my onboard graphics card, works fine.
Thing that I've tried:
-Reset cmos
-Reset motherboard battery
-Seated a VGA PCI-E Graphics Card that I know works fine, still no monitor signal
-System restore
-Tested RAM and took each stick out one by one booting each time individually
-Reseated the graphics card
-Tested Monitor on another computer (Working)
-Made sure all power connections are firm
-Changed my power settings to never hibernate
Onboard graphics card is working, but won't recognize that there's any card in my PCI-E slot (Fan works on the card showing it has power). I've read through different forums that people have had a similar problem but none seem to be exactly the same as mine. I've searched through my BIOS (Very limited options to say the least) and cannot find anywhere how to disable my onboard graphics card and make PCI-E primary. I've tried to uninstall my video drivers and reinstall, but because it doesn't find the GTS 450, it wont let me apply the drivers. The other day it made 7 beeps during post, from what I read means it's a video ram issue, but now that has stopped after putting my BIOS settings to default. The only solution that I can think of off the top of my head is to reformat Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently run Windows 7 ultimate 64bit, 8gig ram, intel i7-2600k cpu, and my OS runs on an OCZ SSD (all specs are in my profile)Sleep mode is set to S3 in BIOS, I have hibernation disabled (so no hibernation.sys file on my c drive)When I put my computer to sleep then immediately wake it up, the login screen shows instantly, I type in my pass and it loads in like 0.5 seconds.When I put my computer to sleep but wait for around 1-2 hrs before waking it, it shows the login screen instantly but after i hit login, it gives me the Welcome spinning circle thingy for like 20 seconds before I can see my desktop. That's like longer than my entire boot-up time excluding POST.Event viewer doesnt show any performance delay, and I dont think my OS drive (OCZ vertex 2) has a cache so I have it disabled. I'm sure all my mobo drivers and graphic drivers are up to date.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my HP TX252NR laptop to an Intel X25-M 160 GB SSD. I did a clean install of Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I have 3 GB of RAM. My laptop takes about 70 sec from a cold boot to login. This is much faster than the 5400 rpm drive and Vista Ultimate 64 bit. My problem is that if I hibernate the laptop it takes over 3 minutes for it to get to the point I can login. The resuming Windows screen comes up in about 20 sec which is roughly how long it takes to get to the starting Windows screen, then it seems to hang here anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 minutes. The disk activity indicator is off and the CPU fan is running full speed. My disk score is 7.6 and my processor score is 4.8. I have update the SSD firmware to the latest. I have updated the laptop to the latest BIOS as well. Win 7 is updated with all the latest patches.

I recently installed a new printer and three days later all I get is the "blue screen of death" I have tried starting with repairs and it says there is no problem. I tried starting it up in safe mode, safe mode + networking, and safe mode + command prompt and continue to receive the blue screen.
