View 3 RepliesI recently bought two Sandisk SSD's to run in RAID for my rapidly aging computer. I'm currently installing windows 7 (x64) on my new drives and I get the "no device drivers found" message that has haunted me in the past. I remember previously I resolved this issue on my Samsung F1 by setting the drive configuration in my BIOS to IDE, of course, this is not possible now as it must be set to RAID.

View 4 Replies View RelatedHow to Reset the Backup Files Configuration in Windows 7 ?
View 0 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop, running Windows 7. Up until this morning everything was working fine (I've had it approximately 3 mos.), I haven't downloaded anything today or had any other problems, HOWEVER, suddenly my internet connection went out. That is to say, It still says I have full bars and that I'm 'connected' but it's an 'unidentified network' with no access to the internet or network. I've looked through a million help files today and tried them all and none of them have worked. I even used system restore to a month ago and it hasn't worked. I disabled all Mcafee products (expired anyway.) I called my internet provider and after they decided it was the computer and not the wireless they connected me to Dell, Dell definitively decided it's not a hardware problem but were going to make me pay to connect me to a software person. As far as I can see the network is set up correctly - the same as it's always been, and unlike all the other posts I've seen on it.. it does NOT work when I hook up an ethernet cable. My desktop is still working fine (obviously, I'm posting. lol.) When I run system diagnostic it resets the network configuration (doesn't help) and then tells me to investigate router or modem issues. (Also doesn't help.) There is no exclamation point or question mark etc. under Device Manager by my Dell Wireless card.

i tried update drivers ,unclicking ipv6
I'm having trouble with my very new computer (Lenovo Y480 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit), which I've narrowed down to the following sequence:
1. I restored computer to original factory settings (to rule out possible causes)
2. I ran msconfig, and checked the boxes 'Safe Mode' and 'Networking.' I got the following error message:"System configuration cannot save the original boot configuration for later restoration. Boot changes will be reverted. The system cannot find the file specified"
3. The default boot option disappeared from the boot menu (Windows 7, default OS, current OS).
4. When I restarted my computer, it would not boot and gave me the error 0xc00034, stating that the file BootBCD was missing.
I did not do anything else with my computer after restoring the factory settings, and I did not connect to the internet. I originally encountered the problem when I wanted to try installing Windows updates in safe mode after some of the installations failed. I have replicated the error several times, including after successfully installing all Windows updates.
as usual I turned off my laptop and after a while a turned on again to use my laptop but it couldn't reach operating system and showed error : " OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND" !
I tried all instructions to solve the problem and finally run by windows start up CD to re-install new windows. this time I faced error: " No drivers were found. click load driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation"
So the other day I logged on to my computer to find all my downloads gone and not reach able and the folder has a huge error something like File osociated cant be found. I have system restored to the previous today and it didnt work What do I do?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy issue is that i would like to be able to have media center audio play only through my tv and not through my pc main speaker system, tv is hooked through hdmi output on graphics card, speaker system through 5.1 output on motherboard. I have tried the audiorenderupdater extender but all that does is set default audio out for entire system, so when itunes is used or game is played on computer audio goes through tv. I would like all system noises, media player, and game audio to run through pc speakers and simultaneously all media center audio (recorded/live tv) to go through tv audio, so i can watch sports center while playing mass effect and have audio from sportscenter on tv audio from mass effect on pc speakers.
Also is there a way to separate media player's actions from media center's. For example if you are laying music in media player and then open media center and play a tv show, music playback stops, not a big deal just like media player better than itunes and would like to be able to watch tv in media center while playing music in media player rather than itunes

View 12 Replies View RelatedI put the XP disk in to have a look at the partitions before deleting them, but found the partition screen was confusing. My query is as follows:
2)There are 2 HDDs in the PC. When I got the PC, it had one Seagate HDD - W7 appeared in Windows on the C: drive and I placed applications there. Immediately afterwards I added a 2nd Hitachi HDD to hold data only, creating a single volume on it called G: data drive. This all seemed to be working fine until this current problem.
3) So, I thought I would see a C: system partition, or maybe a 100MB system reserve C: and another lettered part of that partition, and the G: partition/volume for data files (on the second HDD). However, what I saw on the partition screen via the XP installation disk was this:
476938 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi [MBR] D: Partition1 (System Rese) [NTFS] 100 MB ( 75 MB free)
E: Partition2 [NTFS] 476838 MB ( 419213 MB free) 476938 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi [MBR] C: Partition1 (data drive) [NTFS] 476937 MB ( 383546 MB free)
4) In the CMOS Features screen in the BIOS setup, the HDDs were configured like this (extract):
IDE Channel 0 Master [None]
IDE Channel 0 Slave [None]
IDE Channel 1 Master [Hitachi HDP725050GLA]
IDE Channel 1 Slave [None]
IDE Channel 2 Master [None]
IDE Channel 3 Master [None]
IDE Channel 4 Master [ST3500413AS]
IDE Channel 4 Slave [None]
IDE Channel 5 Master [Optiarc DVD RW AD-72]
The Hitachi HDD at channel 1 is the 2nd HDD, added by me after delivery to hold data files only, so I expected to see it below the Seagate HDD on this list.
5) Also, the Hitachi HDD was top of the Hard Disk Priority list on the BIOS Advanced screen. Again I would have expected to see the Seagate above the Hitachi in that list.
i got a toshiba satellite p775d and for some reason, the bios won't allow me to change any settings. it isn't asking for a password or anything like that, it just won't let me navigate to the appropriate parts of the bios gui in order to adjust the configuration. i tried flashing with the toshiba support utility, it won't permit it since the bios is the same version apparently. the bios manufacturer website utility won't permit a flash either, it only reprograms the blocks. do i have to take it into a professional?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn XP, if one is playing something over the network on a wireless connection, there are usually (always?) little dropouts every so often caused by Wireless Zero Configuration service. So once its connected, simply disabling the service causes those dropouts to go away and playback is smooth and steady.Well, in Windows 7 I have those same dropouts over wireless but, no Wireless Zero Configuration service to disable. So what is the equivalent or what needs to be done to make it quite checking the connection so that playback will be as smooth as it is with XP?I've tried disabling a couple of sevices that were associated to wireless (WLAN Autoconfig) but so far I've only managed to completely bonk the connection.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was running Windows 7 on a Dell Vostro 3700 Laptop..After doing a spyware scan and finding and deleting all the entries I found, the next time I turned it on I get the error: oxc000000f "An error occured while attmepting to read the boot configuration data File: BootBCD"
I have looked online for solutions and tried using the Windows 7 disc (a copy) and also tried using 3 recovery disks, these all fail because it just stays completely black with a cursor (left for hours even) or I get a error message something around the lines of "insert correct boot media into the correct boot device" and I have no idea what this means. I cannot do a repair because I can only get the Windows disc to load if I remove the hard drive?? this is the only way I have got it past the green loading bar, so I am stuck and have no idea what to do..it only seems to respond to cds if the hard drive is removed?.. this all happened very suddenly and now I have a very expensive 800 paperweight
To add to this - I also tried the command prompt typing the bootrec.exe code that I found on the internet..selecting command prompt from the option when the Windows 7 disc was loaded, but basically it came up with an error of some sort and it had a drive letter of X:/ on the command prompt ?? ..Also to get to this the hard drive was removed because like I said I cannot get the discs working with it in.. I'm guessing this means the hard drive is screwed but there is clearly a problem with the boot sector and I have no idea on repairing it now.
Remember when you installed Windows 7, there was that one setup thing that asked you for the time, your username, and password?
Ok so my friend wanted me to upgrade his HP laptop to Windows 7, since he originally had the you-know-is-junk version of windows (Vista).
I was able to install all of the software, but what I want to know is if there's a way to run that configuration setup thing again.
I am having an issue with my windows configuration as usual when a Windows update comes along I click shut down and it updates and then once I power back on I get to the Welcome screen and it configures the new updates. Well right now I am having trouble because I run the update and then once I turn it back on the configuration stays at 0% and I have to power down and enter in Safe Mode so it reverts back to it's former updates. I don't want to have to go through this endless cycle forever is there anyway I can find out what these updates are? It is 4 of them and if I can find out what they are is there a way I can manually install each one individually to avoid this configuration freeze?

In some time, before the windows showed a screen with username and password while it was logging in, a message about configuring windows appeared and failed in doing the configuration. I always solve this problem by restarting and entering the safe mode and so i can do restore windows to a previous point where it was working properly. It is however too bad to do that always. Every several days i have this. How should I solve this permanently?
