So the other day I logged on to my computer to find all my downloads gone and not reach able and the folder has a huge error something like File osociated cant be found. I have system restored to the previous today and it didnt work What do I do?

as usual I turned off my laptop and after a while a turned on again to use my laptop but it couldn't reach operating system and showed error : " OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND" !
I tried all instructions to solve the problem and finally run by windows start up CD to re-install new windows. this time I faced error: " No drivers were found. click load driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation"
ie x 86 unable to bring up on screen device patch or file. may noy have permission to accrss them.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am running windows 7 sp1 and downloaded the german language service pack.but i can t install it and at the end of the progress it fails, with out mentioning the reason or giving an error.I didn t do that from windows update because i wanted to have the installation file for the future, after reinstalling windows.By the way, i have enough free space on windows drive, have downloaded the same 32- bit as the system, and the installation file doesn t seen to be corrupted.I also try to install it, instead of double-clicking- by going to region and language sections and install from there, but in browse window i can t give the installion file to it and it says that : no valid installation package is founded in this folder.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble just viewing the "Downloads" folder in Windows Explorer It used to just be a periodic thing, now it takes literally 2-5 minutes to load this folder! (I cannot even sort it while it is loading!)I noticed in Resource Monitor that "MsMpEng.exe" (Microsoft Security Essentials) is checking each and every file in there everytime I open it. (Hundreds of line-items in Resource Monitor.)So something must be flagging most of these files as changed or something so that MSE is going in and re-scanning everything. Here are some [perhaps ] pertinant notes about my Downloads Folder: It is very large, with almost 1,000 items. However, I want to keep it large as I have many apps running directly from the folder. (There are of course sub-folders for organization, but I find having a single download spot is good for catching things I may have already downloaded...) I have it mapped from C:Users[USERNAME]Downloads to D:...Downloads (My C: drive is an SSD so I keep this large amount of data off it.) I made sure to add this to the Windows Index. The "Date Accessed" date is updated to today for about 1/3 of the files (300 or so) even though I am only really accessing no more than 3-10 per day. It does not seem to matter what type of file it is (exe, zip, etc...) I added this to my "Favorites"; however, this happens regardless of if I access the folder via Favorites, [USERNAME]/Downloads, or d:...Downloads. I generally add stuff to that folder via Google Chrome. However, I could not catch the Chrome process doing anything weird or anything when downloading something.

The one I'd been using was located at C:usersCarsonDownloads. To test something (the behavior of Firefox) I deleted that folder. I ran Firefox and downloaded something and it re-created the folder in the same location.
But... Now I can't access the folder. When I access the folder properties and the owner, it tells me 'Unable to display current owner'. I can't delete it, can't change permissions. How can I get control of the folder again?
(Yes, I know I can download into any folder I like. Many applications, such as browsers, use the default downloads folder location, so it's a lot simpler to just use it and not define another.)

View 2 Replies View Relatedwell the problem is i went to my friend today after a long night trying to fix the problem from the first thread which didnt work and everything was okay since then, thats the last time i touched the computer and when i was at my friend's house i wanted to download an mp3 and didnt figure out why it downloads it perfectly but then i saw on the firefox download statusbar "file size: file not found" so i checked my desktop and found the file which was named like it should be only at the end was ".part" which as i know is the temp file being downloaded. i tried changing its name to .mp3 and it didnt work, i also tried refreshing the desktop which made the file disappear! now im at my home again and i tried to download it again assuming my friend's router was maybe malfunctioning but the same thing happens now at my place.what is wrong with my new computer?!i googled the problem and found out that memtest would let me see if my ram is the problem. i downloaded memtest which doesnt work on my win 7 coz its 64 bit and memtest doesnt support it at all.

It instead captures it through the laptop mic. Whenever i unplug the rcr mic then the laptop mic will stop being in use. When i plug in my RCR mic it uses the laptop mic and when i unplug the mic its doesnt use the laptop mic anymore.i also cheaked the recording deviced could not find my mic, just the computers.
