Message " Socket Error 6001 Port 587 Specified File Could Not Be Decrypted"?
Apr 23, 2012
I recently changed Internet providers, from Primus to Bigpond, and suddenly my Incredimail programme ( which I have used for 15 years or so) has started giving me the message " Socket error 6001 port 587 specified file could not be decrypted"After much time spent trying to get it to work I downloaded Thunderbird, put all the necessary specs in and it works fine. With exactly the same specs, pop smtp, ports etc in Incredimail, it still gives me the same message. It's very frustrating, and yes I have gone right through Incredimails Help pages, but in the end it just tells me to contact the Internet provider, who tells me that they because Incredimail is not one of their supported programmes.
Whenever I try to download/install any software now, I get this message (Windows 7 Ultimate-64 bit)
This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.
I can download the software on another PC with Windows 7 - 32 bit - save it to disk and install it just fine on the 64 bit PC.
I am trying to burn Blank dvds under my Roxio Easy Burning software. And my Hp keeps coming up an message says "Video_TS File Missing or not found". I just brought this laptop in early feburary of this year. I can burn blank CDs. Please help! I don't know if its the driver update or the optical drive it self.
My son turned on his computer and it stated that he has "corrupt files on the "c" drive and needs to check for consistency". When it checks, an error occurs it says bc of a "recently installed program" and "needs to restore" his computer. It then goes to a black screen with only the mouse visible. He re-started in safe mode and tried to restore and it goes to the original message that he has corrupt file son the "c " drive.
After i press the on button of my HP pavillion, a pause of a few seconds occurs before it will start up. I get a message critiaclo error for boot performance in the event file.
Failure to connect to VPN per the error below from the log... "Set socket to non-blocking mode failed: An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket.(errno=10038)"Support at VPN vendor suggests that a Windows repair is needed but have no disk as bought the HDD from a repair facility that lost their lease and cannot be located. Should add that I have had a couple of blue screens lately and have run chkdsk /f and tried to do a system restore but all restore points are gone, even though I had several previously.
I have a hp 4 month old laptop. I used it yesterday, turned it off, when I turned it back on 4 hours later, it gave me a message that it needed to do a chkdisk, so it ran that, then started in what looks like safemode. It gave me an error message that says "Windows Socket Initialization Failed". I did a little research and tried to do a system restore, there are no restore points found. It will not connect to the internet, it also give me a message that it cannot connect to the windows service.
i am trying to set up a virgin media email account on windows live mail. I have followed all the instructions but this error message is still coming up:
Unable to send or receive messages for the Ntlworld (lelleandjem) account. The connection to the server has failed.
I have downloaded Outlook 2010, and can receive and send mail but there are a few other problems with it, so decided to change to Windows Live Mail. However I keep getting the error message:- "Windows Live Mail error OX800cc0E, Socket error 10060".
I've had windows 7 for some time now & Windows Automatic Updates have always worked fine. Now I'm receiving a message "Automatic Windows Update failed: Socket 10053 Software caused Connection Abort" from my online-armor firewall. I've not installed any new software recently, nor have I any email or internet connection problems. Also, performing windows updates manually works ok.
I have a work issued laptop, with my work email set up through Windows Live Mail 2011. It works fine in the office, but for some reason, when I work from home, messages won't send over my wireless connection. The "errors" I get are "Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E" and "Socket Error: 10060".It's a standard Toshiba black laptop. The email is a Squirrel Mail account. And in properties, I have the "My server requires authentication" option checked.Forgive me, but I'm not well-versed with the lingo. I do more with design and editing software. Again, it works fine with my internet connection at work, but not at home. So I wonder if it maybe has something to do with my home internet. Both are wireless. Home is DSL through AT&T.
;Why do I receive a message "this device will operate faster if attached to a USB 2.0 Port" when I attach a device to my computer that I purchased last July and it has USB 2.0 ports installed?
In Win7, the MS procedure for printing the output of a "print to file" operation [URL] doesn't work to a USB printer (HP DJ2050). Neither the correct port USB003 nor the LPT1: port works, even when I "Configure the Port" to include LPT1:. I can't read the file (it has no extension) in any program I've found. I see that I can do the same task easily by printing to .pdf, but is there any way to get back the receipt data contained in these "print to file" files??
When i dial up, i get some Error Message 633 message about COM port being used by other application or modem not configured properly.
In device manager the modem seems OK, and i dont know of any other device using a COM port. I've tried different drivers, swapping the modem around inside the case but no joy and i'm getting really annoyed now.
I have already reported to Sony to but i heard their take their time but thats the one thing what i dont have at the moment so i know many people here know about that stuff to. So anyway. Some time ago SP1 launched for Windows 7. I installed but it but something went it wrong and it didn't install correcly and then i was forced to use System restore. Everything worked and i haven't used SP1 because i don't want to risk screwing up my computer before some important things, i got plenty of time later for that . The problem is after the system restore every time Vegas launches i get a error : Sony Vegas pro 10 an error occurred starting Vegas Pro Error 0x80070002 (message missing).
At work we installed 2 new desktop computers in a network with windows 7 so we had to update our Canon IR 2200 driver to make the printer work properly.
Sometimes when we want to print files the machine is printing nonsense (zdingbats on the upper side of the paper but only a few lines not the whole page) and we have to cancel the printing task on the printer because apparently once it starts it won't stop.
On the screen of the printer in the journal there is written: document name: parallel port print job (instead of microsoft word, excel, ...) username: / (instead of the name of our network)
bug in the driver or is there something wrong with the connexion?
I have Windows 7, Live Mail. Mail with attachments come in with no problems, like photo attachments, but my mail will not go out with photos attached. They are not huge files. I get an error message "error/tasks" but then that screen freezes.
Before my computer was working fine when i am connecting to the internet using a portable usb internet huawei. Then one morning when i tried to connect i got this "Error: 720".
When I start up my pc I my screen stops at the POST screen where down to the bottom it says AHCI Port 0 error...I never had that error before as normally I won't even see the POST screen.
AHCI Port Error 0 Press F2 to continue. This error shows on my Gateway zx4800 but when I press F2 nothing happens. S.M.A.R.T capable and status BAD.....it also show this above the AHCI error. My hdd works with other PC.
I recently installed new software that requires port 8080 to function. When I try to run the software I get an error that port 8080 is being used. How do I check to see what process is using port 8080 so that I can open up the port to run the software? MACHINE: Windows 7x64
When i startup my new-ish laptop (Dell 64bit i7processor running windows 7) i keep getting a black screen with a message in white letters reading:-
"Checking file system on C: The type of the file system is NTFS. Volume label is OS. One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended that you continue. To skip disk checking, press any key within 10 seconds."
When i didn't press any key to escape the message it remained static like that for over an hour. Can anyone explain what is happening and how can i maintain a healthy disk in the first place to avoid this message?

I have started getting message box titled "MTxfr" which states, "Could not create file mapping object(5)" I can click the OK or just close it but I want to know what it is and why I'm getting it.
My son has the above printer which has been working normally for quite a while now suddenly when he wants to print something he is getting this message coming up 'output file name' how can I get rid of this message so as he can print as before. I have tried system restore as far back as I can go but problem persists.I have looked in devices manager and there is a yellow exclamation mark which I've always interpreted as driver not completely installed I have been online and saved printer driver to my flash drive still wont install.
