View 3 RepliesWhenever I try to download/install any software now, I get this message (Windows 7 Ultimate-64 bit)
This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.
I can download the software on another PC with Windows 7 - 32 bit - save it to disk and install it just fine on the 64 bit PC.
I have been using windows 7 RC for a few months now and from time to time have searched for others that experience the same, but no luck!
The problem:
When I try to save a new file, I get the message "there are no more files" and the file is not saved.
I can transfer filed between folded and other drives, but I can not down load files or save new files from any applications.
I have looked into owner and privileges, all settings seem. fine
I am getting Error msg for win 7 using IE 8 - security setting do not allow you to dnload etc.I have changed internet options but same result.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen i startup my new-ish laptop (Dell 64bit i7processor running windows 7) i keep getting a black screen with a message in white letters reading:-
"Checking file system on C: The type of the file system is NTFS. Volume label is OS. One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended that you continue. To skip disk checking, press any key within 10 seconds."
When i didn't press any key to escape the message it remained static like that for over an hour. Can anyone explain what is happening and how can i maintain a healthy disk in the first place to avoid this message?

I have started getting message box titled "MTxfr" which states, "Could not create file mapping object(5)" I can click the OK or just close it but I want to know what it is and why I'm getting it.
My son has the above printer which has been working normally for quite a while now suddenly when he wants to print something he is getting this message coming up 'output file name' how can I get rid of this message so as he can print as before. I have tried system restore as far back as I can go but problem persists.I have looked in devices manager and there is a yellow exclamation mark which I've always interpreted as driver not completely installed I have been online and saved printer driver to my flash drive still wont install.

T4500 processor. In a new house, just installed a new wireless router (linksys WRT something) with encryption.I am having difficulty downloading anything from the internet. Browsing works just fine but whenever I load a video or download a file of any size I get difficulties. After downloading Silverlight or Steam and attempting to install I get a message that the file is corrupt.Google downloader (trying to reinstall chrome) and windows update will both download just fine up a certain point then the download will abruptly stop, even though the internet is still working. This is an ongoing theme with movies as well. They will buffer to a point then the video will be unable to play past that point.I have tried going around the router and using a different browser both to no avail. I ran spybot and had to download updates from 2 different locations because 3 items would not download from the first server. Several problems were found but my problem was not fixxed.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI recently installed code blocks C compiler on my win 7 PC.
It worked fine for a day or so but will now not launch. An error message appears stating that file 'mingwm10.dll is missing'
My son turned on his computer and it stated that he has "corrupt files on the "c" drive and needs to check for consistency". When it checks, an error occurs it says bc of a "recently installed program" and "needs to restore" his computer. It then goes to a black screen with only the mouse visible. He re-started in safe mode and tried to restore and it goes to the original message that he has corrupt file son the "c " drive.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using TechTracker for years, but today I hit a wall with the VLC Player update from ver. 2.0.1 to ver. 2.0.2. I am using Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit system and have no problems with anything else. When the download from CNET ended, I got an error msg. saying the download failed. So, I opened up VLC Player, checked for updates, got the notice that a major update was available and downloaded it. When the download completed, VLC Player crashed and asked if I wanted to send in a crash report. I clicked on "Yes" and immediately got a new popup window saying that it failed to reach the FTP server.

Change the folder properties and try again, or try saving in a different location".When I checked ownership, "Users" was "Administrators"; "my name" was either "System" or "my name"; "AppData" was "System"; "Temp" was probably "System".I followed the instructions on a Microsoft "technet" webpage to change the ownership of the tree "C:Users [my name]AppDataLocalTemp" to "Administrators". This did not allow the downloads or change the message. [code]

With exactly the same specs, pop smtp, ports etc in Incredimail, it still gives me the same message. It's very frustrating, and yes I have gone right through Incredimails Help pages, but in the end it just tells me to contact the Internet provider, who tells me that they because Incredimail is not one of their supported programmes.

He is NOT using a bitttorent. He is using a download accelerator and he has tried a different accelerator to eliminate the possibility that it was the software. He does have comcast, but he says that in the past, he's never had issues with traffic shaping. Also, his SYSTEM is slowing down (anything else he does gets really choppy) not just the download, so we think that indicates it's not just the normal ISP stupidity, it's something wrong on his system side.

I have attempted to download 7zip from CNet, but my computer warns me that it could damage my computer. I tried to verify the signature but I was unable to follow the directions. My option is to run the program without verification. I'm reluctant to do that unless a tech can assure me that its' reasonably safe.
Received an email from the Doctors Office. How can I view the files they send, it had a .doc file ending?
