Can't Download Anything From Internet, It Is Showing Choose An Application To Download File
Sep 6, 2012
i need urgent assistance to be able to download from the internet again as it shows I cant download anything from internet. It is showing choose an application to download file.
I have Windows 7 and when attempting to download a .CSV file, I get the following:
"c:usersappdatalocalmicrosoftwindows temporary internet files.IE5WFRX915B1000_BronzeLeads_851CSV is not a valid Win32 application."
This is supposed to open in an Excel file. I can open it up on another PC, however. And I can also open up other Excel files on my PC except for this one.
In Firefox the home page is set to Google search by default. When I type in a search it works as expected. If however I try to modify the search in the same window a popup comes up saying "Application/json" is ready to dowloand a file, where do I want to save it? In fact multiple popups open (could be upto 10). It doesn't matter if you choose to download or not, nothing happens. It just keeps repeating the loop. What is going on and how to stop it? I'm getting no response from either Google or Firfox on this issue.
I just have a problem with my laptop. When I download a file from the Internet using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox, it appears buttons for me to Open or Save that file but when I click "Save", it automatically returns back to the webpage that I am opening and nothing is downloading. I am using Internet Explorer 7.
while downloading .avi file from internet, the connetcion got disconnected and the download could not be completed. How to locate that incomplete file in my computer and also is it possible to download the file from where it was disconnected?
Application download did not succeed. Check your network connection, or contact your system administrator or network service provider. That what a family member of mine gets when they try to download anything off of the internet. Its old probably running windows xp or older.
I know this is windows 7 forum but maybe it pertains to us also
I keep getting this error. 2503, 2502, and 1603. It happens everytime I try to install skype. I do not have the windows installer file, the only closely related item is LoJackinstaller. I change all the permissions, upgrade to windows 7 pro, everything but it won't install skype. Also I tried downloading and installing windows installer 3.1 but it said that I have run out of storgae room and the installation failed. Its also only gives me the 2503,2502, and 1603 errors when I try and install Skype. I download and installed chrome and several other programs just fine.
Can anyone tell me, if the "Microsoft Windows Anytime Upgrade - Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional Operating System Software" that you see addvertised everywhere, is a CDrom or download application. Seems silly to me they would sell us a box just to find download instructions inside but...
my cyber-shot camera wont dowload its pictures its a DSC-S780, i have theusb lead and everything i just want to no if theres a download i can do to make it work?
i do have sony viao vgn-cr21s notebook. i intalled driver for webcam. now i want to use this webcam but i am not getting correct application software to connect with webcam
I have set my Downloads folder to be on a second drive. by right clicking Downloads folder then selecting properties/location/"new location which I changed to F" clicked yes to move all associated files. it has been working for a few days now all well and good. earlier I went to download a image and when I right clicked the image and selected save as, a window appears where your able to choose a destination. The destination I wanted was already there as usual which is "F/Downloads" what caught my attention was within that window it usually shows all the pictures that I have in my Downloads folder but only one of them was there. I clicked save and the image saved. I navigated to my Downloads folder on my F drive and the image was not there. All the rest of the images I previously downloaded was, even the only one that showed up in the "save to destination window" not sure of the proper name. I tried to download another picture and when I right clicked it and selected save as the "save to destination" window opened and showed the same single image as before and also the 1 previous download picture. Scratching my head I double checked the destination, destination correct F/Downloads. I click save, and navigate my way to F/Downloads and neither of the two pictures are there. On my F drive I only have 1 Downloads folder. So where are these pictures that are not showing up in the folder but yet showing up in the "save to destination" window? That is addressed as F/Downloads.
1) start orb/user "which in my case is Trinity"/Downloads
The digital river download manager shows as a white screen. While the top Title bar shows that a download is in progress and I have downloaded it 100%, I cannot continue or get passed this part because I cant see anything!
I am going to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium on my PC and was about to download the latest ISO-file from Digital River when I found that there seems to be TWO different versions. One is called: Windows 7 Professional SP1-U ISO and the 64-bit Swedish filename is: X17-59273.iso.However there is also a Windows 7 Professional N SP1-U ISO (Note: N editions come without media components) with the Swedish file name: X17-59424.iso.So what does this "N" after "Professional" mean? That is, what does it mean that the edition comes "without media components"??As I am going to download the ISO-file and then boot from an USB-stick, which one should I choose? And I guess that, even if the ISO file is labeled as a Windows 7 Professional, I will be able to choose Windows 7 home Premium 64-bit during the installation process, right?
I cant open the window to choose the files to upload to a website;I Cant open that same windo to choose the fileto open with a program (ex: im on paint and i cant open the "choose a file" window to open and edit a photo)and i cant open that same window in any other program :that started to happen after a registry defrag/cleaning, any sugestion?
So in Windows 7, whatever applications you have pinned to the start menu sometimes have a triangle facing out, and if you click on that triangle, it will show the recent documents you've worked with that application. As the title says, there is one application that just won't show the list no matter how many times I click on the triangle. However, other applications DO show that list. How is it that only one application is causing trouble while others aren't?
I know there is a setting to choose or not to choose specific countries, but I don't know how.(Yes, Europe is not as free as you think and you need to change your identity to view what third world countries can view!)
One of the applications I use shows Chinese and Japanese text in jumplist as squares. This is happening only on one computer. I tested it on some several other (32 and 64 bit) computers and it is showing everything correctly. The computer that it is not working correctly is running 32bit version of Windows 7 Ultimate. All computers are running English version of windows 7.
why i cannot download all the software from the internet when i using the internet explorer 9...what is the problem in my computer.my computer is window 7 starter...????
I am using Windows 7 and IE9 and I can't download anything. I also use Norton Antivirus. When I try and download an email attachment for example. Norton tells me the file is safe. When I press download, I get a pop up. I try and run or save as per the pop up and the file begins to download. When it is at the end of the download, I am informed, via the pop, that it is running a security scan. I am then told the file couldn't be downloaded.
Im trying to download a software from the internet but when I get to the point where the prgram is being "runned" I get a message saying, "Unable to download this program from the internet check that you are connected to the internet" although I AM connected to the internet this problems continues to pop up. I've tried enableing my download setting in the internet options but nothing seems to work.
I believe the location is causing crashes, since I blew up lots of Library registry values (in an attempt to remove them from the OS), and I think it defaults to the library page.
eg, 2shared - file upload and sharing [edit: stupid editor auto href'd the text... bah]
crashes IE and Firefox (not Chrome for some reason... possibly because it uses its own code?) when I click the browse button (same for any "browse" button that spawns a native find-your-file thing).
It may be something else, but anyway...
edit: If I disable "Expand to Current Folder" in Win Explorer, the crash does not occur. So perhaps it is trying to expand to a folder that is broken? I want to keep "Expand to Current Folder" on, though, as I like the feature.

I have attempted to download 7zip from CNet, but my computer warns me that it could damage my computer. I tried to verify the signature but I was unable to follow the directions. My option is to run the program without verification. I'm reluctant to do that unless a tech can assure me that its' reasonably safe.
