May 26, 2011I have a Canon Power Shot SD600 which I am attempting to upload photos from. I have a new Toshiba Sattelite. The USB ports work fine for every other use so far (I-Pod, external monitors, wireless keyboard, etc.). Even when I unplug all of these things, the camera is not recognized. There are no beeps, or alerts that I have plugged anything in. The camera is turned on and I have tried plugging the USB into each available port with the same result.

I have downloaded drivers and spent large amounts of timeon the phone with Canon technical support and they were unable to help. Dec 9, 2011I keep getting this error. 2503, 2502, and 1603. It happens everytime I try to install skype. I do not have the windows installer file, the only closely related item is LoJackinstaller. I change all the permissions, upgrade to windows 7 pro, everything but it won't install skype. Also I tried downloading and installing windows installer 3.1 but it said that I have run out of storgae room and the installation failed. Its also only gives me the 2503,2502, and 1603 errors when I try and install Skype. I download and installed chrome and several other programs just fine.

Mar 15, 2012I'm having an issue with the creation/modification date of .mov video files on my computer. Simply, they both keep changing to the current date/time when I transfer them to my computer.
For example, if I transfer my .mov videos from my Canon camera via USB to my computer (copy from one, paste into the other), both the created date AND the modified date in Windows 7 becomes the current date/time that I'm transferring them instead of the date/time they were actually shot (which is indeed on the file in the camera). All other video types from other cameras or the like (MP4, MPG, WMV, etc.) don't do this. In fact, I've never experienced this with any of my movie files before and have always been able to see the time they were shot because the created and the modified dates will be when they were shot (and only one changes when I move them).
.mov files automatically get the current date/time for both the created date AND the modified date meaning a video shot and dated weeks ago on the camera appears like I shot it right now when it's transferred to my computer.
I'm not sure if this is a Windows 7 thing with .mov files or a Canon thing. I've posted in a Canon forum and nobody seems to know what I'm talking about so I'm assuming it can't be that widespread. I just don't know where to go with this and it's driving me insane. I hate that I can't tell when my videos from a trip or whatnot were actually shot. It looks like they were all shot at the exact same moment weeks after I got back!

How To Stop Getting Application / JSON File Download Popup
Mar 14, 2012In Firefox the home page is set to Google search by default. When I type in a search it works as expected. If however I try to modify the search in the same window a popup comes up saying "Application/json" is ready to dowloand a file, where do I want to save it? In fact multiple popups open (could be upto 10). It doesn't matter if you choose to download or not, nothing happens. It just keeps repeating the loop. What is going on and how to stop it? I'm getting no response from either Google or Firfox on this issue.

Oct 26, 2011Our office has an old program that we still need to use when upgrading our PC's to Windows 7. The program will run fine if you start a windows virtual PC and install and run it. However, based on the needs of our office, I need to be able to run Windows XP mode and simply have an icon for our users to click to take them to the application.If I install the program in windows XP mode, and then add a shortcut to the file under all users/start menu, a shortcut is placed in the appropriate place on the windows 7 machine and I can copy that shortcut ot the desktop. The program runs fine until you restart the computer. Once you restart the computer and double click the link on the windows 7 desktop to the program running in windows XP mode, it says:
Cannot start virtual application. The application is blocked from running as a virtual application.
I read some other posts saying to put a new shortcut in the all users/start menu folder. This works, but only until our users restart their computer. The next time the computer is up, the problem happens again. This is not an acceptable solution to have to create a new shortcut for each workstation each time the computer is restarted.

Nov 25, 2011I don't what happened but all of a sudden a message box opens up on my windows 7 laptop and it says this " the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application" . I clicked ok but the error message box keeps returning back.If i remember properly, this happened when I tried installing some wallpaper.system seems to be working finw with all applications, but this message box is quite annoying.
