[IE7] Uploading Files To Internet/Saving File From Internet?
Oct 16, 2011I can no longer upload files to the internet. When I try to Internet Explorer 9 crashes and restarts. The same thing happens when I right click on a picture on the internet and try to save it to my computer. The only changes to my computer was I upgraded the Norton Anti Virus software. I've reinstalled IE9 and same thing. I tried reinstalling Norton and same thing.

Feb 6, 2012I have my tower pc on constant all day- to record a streaming IP Camera from my work.Initially, I saved these files into my docutments- which they would save as .avi files, and after every several days I would delete them as they would take up ALOT of space on my pc.My pc is 250GB in size, and usually it would be about 80GB full before I had the IP Camera. Just recently, I noticed all of the IP Camera avi files seemed to have disappeared from my documents if I went directly to the folder... I could still see them in documents when I was choosing a location to save the recordings.Upon right-clicking the avi files in the latter, the files would be of no size and wouldn't play.Now my computer is 210GB full in the matter of a week.

Changed Hosts File / Cannot Connect To Internet
Aug 23, 2011I followed the instructions on this page: url...I renamed my hosts file "hosts.orig", downloaded, unzipped, and saved another hosts file from url... named HOSTS in the same place as the original. After that, I couldn't connect to the internet at home or at the library. I tried deleting the "new" hosts file that I downloaded, in order to put things back to how they used to be, but any time I try to do something to the "HOSTS" file I get a pop up saying: "The action can't be completed because the file is open in Cryptographic Services.... close the file and try again" which doesn't work. I tried stopping the DNS thing, but that only worked for about 5 minutes. I restarted the computer because it was slowing down, and the DNS thing restarted itself, and the internet disconnected again. I try stopping it, but an error message saying "Windows could not stop the DNS client service on local computer. error 1053: the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"

Nov 15, 2011Is it possible to connect 2 laptops - one windows 7 the other xp to just share files. I've done this with 2 xp laptops easily with a cat5 cable.
We are downloading pictures from a camera to one pc and need to then transfer to the other. There's no internet involved.
What would be the best way to do this? I can't get it to work with the cat 5; crossover seems to involve the internet, usb uses transfer software and isn't what I need. I just need to copy over images from a shared folder from one laptop to another.

This does not happen when I use the 64bit version and I would just use the 64bit version but it does not support some websites. It has not always done this, only after a few weeks after install it started.

With FireFox I was able to set the plug in so that it would always ASK me what to do if it detected I was going to look at a PDF. I could either open it or save it. IE does not give me that option.
