I just have a problem with my laptop. I am using Internet Explorer 7.
i need urgent assistance to be able to download from the internet again as it shows I cant download anything from internet. It is showing choose an application to download file.
while downloading .avi file from internet, the connetcion got disconnected and the download could not be completed. How to locate that incomplete file in my computer and also is it possible to download the file from where it was disconnected?
I can no longer upload files to the internet. When I try to Internet Explorer 9 crashes and restarts. The same thing happens when I right click on a picture on the internet and try to save it to my computer. The only changes to my computer was I upgraded the Norton Anti Virus software. I've reinstalled IE9 and same thing. I tried reinstalling Norton and same thing.
My friend would like to send me a large file (about 6GBS) me and and her have no idea how to do it, since email only lets about 500mb. We tryed sending it through messanger but that failed.
I dont really want to use megaupload because i dont want to then download the file again. Does Skype have a sending limt?
I followed the instructions on this page: url...I renamed my hosts file "hosts.orig", downloaded, unzipped, and saved another hosts file from url... named HOSTS in the same place as the original. After that, I couldn't connect to the internet at home or at the library. I tried deleting the "new" hosts file that I downloaded, in order to put things back to how they used to be, but any time I try to do something to the "HOSTS" file I get a pop up saying: "The action can't be completed because the file is open in Cryptographic Services.... close the file and try again" which doesn't work. I tried stopping the DNS thing, but that only worked for about 5 minutes. I restarted the computer because it was slowing down, and the DNS thing restarted itself, and the internet disconnected again. I try stopping it, but an error message saying "Windows could not stop the DNS client service on local computer. error 1053: the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"
Recently my compaq presario CQ56 has been running alot slower than usual, I have scanned with Spybot SnD, ESET and Free Malwarebytes, none of them found any viruses. I have a lower spec computer and it is faster on the same internet connection so I know it isnt the connection. This has only been happening for a week, I havent downloaded anything in that time.
My laptop comes up with this message everytime it is turned off, but if i leave it to 'check' then it goes in a continous loop, so I cancel it first time. Does anyone how I can stop this from happening and also if it is the cause of the problem with Internet explorer 9, which installs but then when restarted doesn't acknowledge it has been installed
Is it possible to connect 2 laptops - one windows 7 the other xp to just share files. I've done this with 2 xp laptops easily with a cat5 cable.
We are downloading pictures from a camera to one pc and need to then transfer to the other. There's no internet involved.
What would be the best way to do this? I can't get it to work with the cat 5; crossover seems to involve the internet, usb uses transfer software and isn't what I need. I just need to copy over images from a shared folder from one laptop to another.
I have a problem that seems to only effect the 32 bit version of my IE. When I run it, it automatically creates a file on the desktop. This file is unknown to windows and is differently named each time. Currently the example I have for you now is It. The names that it creates are usually close to that one. No extension at the end, just that. When I open this file, it asks the usual, what do I want to use to open it, when I get it open this is what it contains,

This does not happen when I use the 64bit version and I would just use the 64bit version but it does not support some websites. It has not always done this, only after a few weeks after install it started.
I cant seem to save any file every time I download a program from the internet to my c drive (specifically under program file folder)- keep on prompting need permission from the administrator. I tried the cmd command still not working.

How does one prevent internet explorer from automatically downloading and opening a PDF file?for example, I click on a link which I do NOT know is a PDF file. I am not given the option to SAVE the file. Instead, it is automatically downloaded and then Adobe PDF opens up in a seperate window. How do I disable this? I have disabled the plug in/add on in IE. With FireFox I was able to set the plug in so that it would always ASK me what to do if it detected I was going to look at a PDF. I could either open it or save it. IE does not give me that option.
How to delete bonjour file and fix the network problems? Whenever I turn on my pc, I have to wait 1 minute then I have to pull out the Ethernet cable and then put it back in again for the internet to work, I think this is due to bonjour. Also, I think I got it from Photoshop cs3, and bonjour is not in the form of a program but a folder.
I recently upgraded from XP to Win7. Now, when I have a file download or attachment, either in Outlook or any browser, it takes me to the File Save window. Before I could simply click on the attachment and it would open (unless it couldn't figure out what kind of file it was). This is a real pain when viewing pictures attached to an email. I've looked everywhere and can't find this issue addressed in any documentation. I've had Win 7 in the past and this didn't happen.
Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit After downloading a file with either Firefox 11.0 or Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421 desktop freezes up. Desktop icons do not select and will not open. Right-clicking the mouse doesn't open the Desktop properties window. However, everything in the Taskbar and Start Menu works!
why i cannot download all the software from the internet when i using the internet explorer 9...what is the problem in my computer.my computer is window 7 starter...????
I am using Windows 7 and IE9 and I can't download anything. I also use Norton Antivirus. When I try and download an email attachment for example. Norton tells me the file is safe. When I press download, I get a pop up. I try and run or save as per the pop up and the file begins to download. When it is at the end of the download, I am informed, via the pop, that it is running a security scan. I am then told the file couldn't be downloaded.
Im trying to download a software from the internet but when I get to the point where the prgram is being "runned" I get a message saying, "Unable to download this program from the internet check that you are connected to the internet" although I AM connected to the internet this problems continues to pop up. When I'm downloading something to my secondary HDD the internet explorer default download manager is first storing the file on my SSD-disk in the user temp folder, and after the download is finished it copy the content to my secondary hdd and deletes all data in the temp folder. How can I prevent it doing so? I want to store the file directly where I put the file.I have to download maybe 1TB of data and I don't want my SSD disk to store and delete that amount of data
