No Output Of Print To File Operation - Configure Port?
Apr 15, 2012
In Win7, the MS procedure for printing the output of a "print to file" operation [URL] doesn't work to a USB printer (HP DJ2050). Neither the correct port USB003 nor the LPT1: port works, even when I "Configure the Port" to include LPT1:. I can't read the file (it has no extension) in any program I've found. I see that I can do the same task easily by printing to .pdf, but is there any way to get back the receipt data contained in these "print to file" files??
my configure option in sound setting is disabled.i hv installed all the codecs like ac3,dfx etc bt still not getting the desired output..i have compaq presario v6000 laptop..
I will give you an idea of my set-up then what I am trying to do and what I have done.I have a BT router with Static IP, two wired computers, both have DHCP IPs but BT Router makes static IPs assuming computers MAC address dont change (according to BT)I am trying to connect using Remote Desktop and port forwarding for each PC e.g. 81.149.115.104:51463 The port is open when checking via [URL] but when trying to connect via Remote Desktop it times out/doesnt connect. I have set each PC to listen on the respective port in regedit but still nothing. Windows Firewall is also configured to allow connections through each port. Still nothing?
At work we installed 2 new desktop computers in a network with windows 7 so we had to update our Canon IR 2200 driver to make the printer work properly.
Sometimes when we want to print files the machine is printing nonsense (zdingbats on the upper side of the paper but only a few lines not the whole page) and we have to cancel the printing task on the printer because apparently once it starts it won't stop.
On the screen of the printer in the journal there is written: document name: parallel port print job (instead of microsoft word, excel, ...) username: / (instead of the name of our network)
bug in the driver or is there something wrong with the connexion?
I have seen this pop up a few times and have no idea why and/or how to make it stick. Occasionally, the file type is in the lower-right corner of the album art. This has been added on the fly by WMP12. How to configure this?
The problem I believe is that on the change sharing options for different networkprofile page (Control Panel>Network sharing) I cannot turn on the Network discovery and File saring options. click on the two enabling buttons forTurn on File DiscoveryndTurn on File & printer sharing I then find the save changes tab greyed out
Im setting up a batch file to run some adb commands on my android phone. I want to run a command and store the result into a variable for later use in the batch file.
Example command: adb shell getprop ro.product.brand
That command outputs the brand of the device e.g. samsung. I want to capture that without displaying it into a variable that will be used later on in the script. I have the 3 adb files coped over to the scripts location so that it will run natively.
My son has the above printer which has been working normally for quite a while now suddenly when he wants to print something he is getting this message coming up 'output file name' how can I get rid of this message so as he can print as before. I have tried system restore as far back as I can go but problem persists.I have looked in devices manager and there is a yellow exclamation mark which I've always interpreted as driver not completely installed I have been online and saved printer driver to my flash drive still wont install.
I have a corrupt MTS file on my SDHC card. Windows cannot copy nor move this file, and says to run chkdsk to fix it. I've had experience with chkdsk fix, and don't want to do that (it chops the file into unusable pieces). Media Player is able to play 36 minutes of the file, even though it shows the file is 0 minutes long. I have not found any other software that can read more than a few minutes of the file. Is it possible to pipe Media Player's output to a new file on my hard drive?
i just discovered "action(s)" and i would like to know if there is a way to set it up to execute a command line task such as: csp -i <file name> -o <output bmp)can i set up action(s) to ask for the input file name and the output bmp path and the execute the entire task?
I've got Visual InterDev 6 installed using Seamless XP Mode.If I open a file on the host disk, which opens interdev I cannot save any changes, and I get this error:"The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open" If I save to a new file in the same folder, it saves ok, but any subsequent edits return the same error if I try to save.Is this a permissions problem with windows 7 and XP mode, or a quirk with the old interdev software?
Whenever I try to print a .pdf file, it instead wants to save it as a .prn file. Every pdf file, every time. I cannot print. This may have happened because a couple weeks ago, I tried to save a particular .pdf file as a .prn file, did not know what I was doing, and now .prn seems to be the default setting. I cannot figure out how to get it corrected.
whatever i try to do on my outlook that has to do with .PST file management results in a crash where outlook quitsif i go to control panel > mail settings > data files 2 of the files that are in use (& work) do not show up, one of them the default mail delivery .PST. in these two, trying to access the advanced properties gives an error:The operation failed. An object could not be found.now - general googling tells me that recreating the profile could perhaps fix this - but i would love to avoid that as there's no manageable UI to set up the email accounts and there's many in use.event log on trying to open a pre-existing .PST that's not in the current profile:
I have adobe reader 13 (file name AcroRd32) installed in my computer . Whenever I give the print for any pdf file command it shows printer unavailable.
Using Windows 7 Home Premium and Publisher 2010, when I try to print (only as of yesterday evening) I get a 'print to file' notice. I do NOT print to file nor do I need to. How can I get may printer to actually print the Publisher Documents. I've tried swapping printers and the same thing happens with Konica Minolta Magicolor 3730dn and Samsung CLP315. I've uninstalled and re-installed both - changed all the plugs and sub connections and I'm now going nuts!
I was trying to uninstall a print driver for a network printer for one of my users (Windows 7), and I ran into that issue where it tells you that it can't remove the drivers because they are still in use (this after stopped and restarting the spooler, rebooting, etc.). So I was looking at the "File Repository" for this print driverC:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\hpcu115u.inf_amd64_neutral_4a9d334b04ff58b2), and it has the same files as another folder that is pointed to under the "Driver" tab in the Print Server Properties dialogue C:\Windows\system32\spool\DRIVERS\x64\3). My questions are the following:1. What is the purpose of the File Repository folder as compared to the driver folder as listed above?. If I am unable to remove the print drivers through Print Management (using admin rights), should I manually delete the corresponding File Repository folder, should I delete the files in the corresponding folder as listed above (C:\Windows\system32\spool\DRIVERS\x64\3), neither, or both?
Got windows 7 on new computer and need to install a printer = generic print to file, generic text. It installs but does not print when try a test page or document. get error message "can not open" IT goes through all the steps correctly and shows up as a printer but doesn't work. Tried the trouble shooter but nothing.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit home. I have a program that does not give me a choice as to where it's printout goes. It just sends printout to the default printer. I want the output to go to a file. I used the printer setting feature to set up a FILE printer. As a printer choice I picked generic text and set it up as the default printer. When I send the printout from the program I am asked for a file name. I enter test.prn as the file name. Then I get an error message: Could not open the file. Access is denied.
Printing to file from Quicken to PDF worked in XP by saving it in PDF but not in win 7 using "quicken pdf printer" as printer field, and it comes back with "could not open printer, check printer selection" how to set up step by step.
I recently installed new software that requires port 8080 to function. When I try to run the software I get an error that port 8080 is being used. How do I check to see what process is using port 8080 so that I can open up the port to run the software? MACHINE: Windows 7x64
I recently changed Internet providers, from Primus to Bigpond, and suddenly my Incredimail programme ( which I have used for 15 years or so) has started giving me the message " Socket error 6001 port 587 specified file could not be decrypted"After much time spent trying to get it to work I downloaded Thunderbird, put all the necessary specs in and it works fine. With exactly the same specs, pop smtp, ports etc in Incredimail, it still gives me the same message. It's very frustrating, and yes I have gone right through Incredimails Help pages, but in the end it just tells me to contact the Internet provider, who tells me that they because Incredimail is not one of their supported programmes.
I just bought a new computer from a computer shop. It is custom built and has the following:Has 8GB RAM, 3.3ghz intel core i5-2500k, windows 7, Intel HD graphics so upto 1.7GB max video memory, 1 VGA slot, 1 DVI slot.Just to confirm I checked in person and my tower has a VGA port and a DVI-D dual link port.
my 2 no usb port and lan port are not working other wise other 1 no usb port working this is new laptop i think driver not installed because when i connect the pendrive there was light showing in my pendrive.so i want drivr
I've been using various print drivers for various locations with success for a month with my new laptop. Today, all drivers gone.Loading new ones doesn't work. Print spooler is not "started;" it starts successfully, then is not "started" next time I look.Other possibly relevant information: HP 1020, HP MX 340 at home office.Tried: multiple restarts of print spooler, multiple reboots, troubleshooters, HP detect and download drivers?
(Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, HP LaserJet CP1215)When printing from Word (or any other normal application) the documents just sit in the print queue with Status = "Error - Printing".If I stop, then re-start the Print Spooler service, they then print.Strangely enough, this does not happen if I print from the HP printer diagnostic utility.I've done complete re-install of the entire printer driver suite and I'm pretty sure everything that end is OK. So what's happening with the spooler? The error message isn't exactly very revealing
