View 20 Replies View RelatedI have a Panasonic MiniDV PV-GS31 camcorder that I use occasionally to record home videos, birthday parties, anniversaries etc. I used to use a Windows XP computer before with which I could easily transfer my photos/videos from the camcorder to the laptop through USB with Windows Movie Maker.
Currently, I run a Windows 7 SP1 for a few months. I plugged in the camcorder to the laptop for the first time after I got Windows 7. Now after some time of "Installing device driver", computer showed that it was successfully installed. But when I went to Computer, there was no icon for the camcorder that I can go into to see the playback video & then go to Windows Movie Maker to transfer, unlike Windows XP.
I also looked up Windows Movie Maker & found out that Windows 7 does not come with Windows Movie Maker by default. So, I downloaded/installed it into my system.
Then from online, I found out that Panasonic PV-GS31 does not support Windows 7. But would it be possible to run it as Windows XP instead of Windows 7, like you could do with any software? details because I have never run any non-Windows 7 program as Windows XP yet.
There are a number of games that MS issued back about 15-20 years ago that I have enjoyed playing even with Vista. However these games are incompatible with Windows 7 64 bit. Does anyone know how I can get these games to run on Win 7 64 bit. Its a shame if I can't since I have enjoyed them all these years. The games initially were issued as WEP 1, 2 and 3 and are as follows:
Blackjet, Winmine (the older minesweeper game), Cruel, Golf (not the golf game), Tetris, Fugigolf, Jezzball, Maxwell, Rodent and Tutstomb.
I would hope Microsoft would reissue these games in their original form but compatible with Windows 7 64 bit. They are not sophisticated, but they are very enjoyable.
I recently downloaded Flight Simulator X Deluxe, and When I ran a gadget on my desktop, it wasn't using the full GPU. What I want to know what to do is how to make the game utilize my entire GPU.

The computer screen just freezes and all my USB ports become inactive, but the computer stays on and there isn't any whirling sounds, so I don't believe it is hardware. So far what I have tried is that I re installed windows 7 many times(at least 5). I have updated all my GPU drivers, and one issue I read on the EVGA website was that the Intel HD adapter driver was conflicting with it so I disabled the driver but it didn't solve the issue.

View 9 Replies View RelatedBasically, what happens is, if a game runs in fullscreen, there's a slight chance my computer stops responding entirely. The HDD Indicator flickers, and buzzing can be heard- as if it is trying to play the game. However, I am met with a black screen and no sound. I can not Ctrl-Alt-Del or Ctrl-Shift-Esc; it does nothing. It is also very erratic, it seems to be quite selective of what games do, and what games don't run, for instance, Half Life 2 and it's episodic expansions, as well as L4D2 and 1- Portal, and Portal 2 run fine. Fallout 3 and New Vegas, the same. UT2004 Runs swell. UT3 however, hangs. Metro 2033, Hangs. Skyrim works beautifully. Oblivion Hangs.I'd like to think it is a resolution issue, as I am using a 17" TV with HDMI. The resolution is at 1280 x 720, and my Graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce 550Ti. My Operating System is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Once I started playing, my computer randomly shuts off. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a custom built computer that i finished almost a year ago then bout 3 months ago, it start shutting down completely while I was playing The Old Republic no Blue Screens. I thought at first since it was just shutting down and not BSODing it was either my GPU or PSU, I have now replaced both with pretty decent upgrades, and booted some games like counter strike source, minecraft, orcs must die, and still happens.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was playing through the walking dead game fine no problems then I had to go eat dinner so I paused the game (hit the esc key) and my monitor shut off and said no signal whenever I turned it back on. My mouse and keyboard also started shutting off and on and nothing I pressed (alt+F4, ctrl+alt+delete, etc) nothing got any response. So I shut off my computer booted it back up tried to play the same game again got the same issue. Then I tried to play something else and I got the same problem so whenever I launch any game my screen shuts off and computer essentially crashes. When Windows boots back up it says that it has recovered from a serious error similar to when you encounter a BSOD but doesn't ask you to send a report to MS. Also whenever I come back from the error windows for some reason attempts and fails to re-install the wireless receiver for my 360 controller. However it works fine again once I unplug and plug it back in again.
1. Uninstalling the game that started this.
2. Re-installing my video drivers.
3. Wiping my video drivers with driver cleaner in safe mode then re-installing my drivers.
4. Re-installing direct x using a setup file from a random steam game.
5. Doing a system restore from as far back as I had (April 25th)
I recently bought a new power supply, along with more ram because I was already ordering the power supply. When the package came and I set everything up in the computer, the PC turned on and everything was fine. I started to play a game with my friend and the computer just turned off. No error message, nothing. I believe the computer overheated, but I could be completely wrong. Now, when I start my computer up, it gets to the Launch System Repair (Recommended) or Start Windows Normally. If I select one of them, it will get into the 'Starting Windows' screen with the orbs, and then the monitor will just go blank. The computer still runs in the background, but my monitor just is blank. It is not the RAM (I switched and went to my old RAM) And I also cannot boot into safe mode, or anything of the sort, as the same thing happens. And I cannot boot from a CD (Tried with a windows 7 repair disc and computer goes blank again)
