View 2 Replies View Relatedthread here so i am not sure if i am posting in the right area, but i am having major problem with my pc. When ever i start playing a game, what ever it may be, (Starcraft 2, Battlefield 3, League of Legends, Ect) 10 to 20 minutes into playing the game, my computer randomly freezes, and i am forced to unplug it, and plug it back in to restart it. This never happens when ever i am just browsing the internet. ntel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz4.00 GB(3.00 GB usable)32-bit processor

The computer screen just freezes and all my USB ports become inactive, but the computer stays on and there isn't any whirling sounds, so I don't believe it is hardware. So far what I have tried is that I re installed windows 7 many times(at least 5). I have updated all my GPU drivers, and one issue I read on the EVGA website was that the Intel HD adapter driver was conflicting with it so I disabled the driver but it didn't solve the issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an old game called City Life 2008 Edition, which works fine on my Windows XP PC, however apparently it isn't compatible with my Windows 7 laptop. It won't even let me install the game the first time I tried it started installing but then it froze and crashed. And now when I try to install it, when the screen comes up after you except the terms and conditions it asks you to choose a saving folder for the game, and the continue button is grey (inactive), so I can't install it!!
I figured it's not compatible, how do I make it compatible?
I tried going to 'my computer' after I inserted the disk and right clicking 'properties' but there isn't anything about compatibility.
All right, so I recently bought a new computer (it was refurbished)
I've done a lot of tweaking on it already, I installed a new video card and put in a new power supply unit. I am also dualbooting into both Windows 7 and Ubuntu 11.04. On my windows 7 boot, I installed oblivion. Fully installed it on the first try, then after a small issue concerning mods, I had to re-install. It reinstalled fine, but then I realized that I had installed it overtop all the files from the mods (in C:/.../oblivon). So I had to reinstall again. No big deal I though. Well! Now it is giving me a ton of problems.
During the install it gives me the error 0x80070017 and says it can't install. I looked up the error on google and it says that it's data corruption. It happens every time! I've rebooted, uninstalled / reinstalled other games, triple checked that there was nothing in C:/oblivion, everything I can think of.
I can't seem to be able to install any of Cultures games on my Windows 7. I clicked on the setup file. I waited one minute, but nothing happened. I tried the windows xp compatiblity option, but it still didn't work. I can't find any other way.

View 5 Replies View RelatedBasically, what happens is, if a game runs in fullscreen, there's a slight chance my computer stops responding entirely. The HDD Indicator flickers, and buzzing can be heard- as if it is trying to play the game. However, I am met with a black screen and no sound. I can not Ctrl-Alt-Del or Ctrl-Shift-Esc; it does nothing. It is also very erratic, it seems to be quite selective of what games do, and what games don't run, for instance, Half Life 2 and it's episodic expansions, as well as L4D2 and 1- Portal, and Portal 2 run fine. Fallout 3 and New Vegas, the same. UT2004 Runs swell. UT3 however, hangs. Metro 2033, Hangs. Skyrim works beautifully. Oblivion Hangs.I'd like to think it is a resolution issue, as I am using a 17" TV with HDMI. The resolution is at 1280 x 720, and my Graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce 550Ti. My Operating System is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

So I found my old copy of Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (OLD game) and I decided I wanted to experience some nostalgia.I installed it and everything and it started like a charm. Once I started playing, my computer randomly shuts off. Just completely turns off, no warning, nothing.I'm pretty sure that my computer is not overheating because I play StarCraft II on this computer and do not have any overheating issues. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a custom built computer that i finished almost a year ago then bout 3 months ago, it start shutting down completely while I was playing The Old Republic no Blue Screens. I thought at first since it was just shutting down and not BSODing it was either my GPU or PSU, I have now replaced both with pretty decent upgrades, and booted some games like counter strike source, minecraft, orcs must die, and still happens.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was playing through the walking dead game fine no problems then I had to go eat dinner so I paused the game (hit the esc key) and my monitor shut off and said no signal whenever I turned it back on. My mouse and keyboard also started shutting off and on and nothing I pressed (alt+F4, ctrl+alt+delete, etc) nothing got any response. So I shut off my computer booted it back up tried to play the same game again got the same issue. Then I tried to play something else and I got the same problem so whenever I launch any game my screen shuts off and computer essentially crashes. When Windows boots back up it says that it has recovered from a serious error similar to when you encounter a BSOD but doesn't ask you to send a report to MS. Also whenever I come back from the error windows for some reason attempts and fails to re-install the wireless receiver for my 360 controller. However it works fine again once I unplug and plug it back in again.
1. Uninstalling the game that started this.
2. Re-installing my video drivers.
3. Wiping my video drivers with driver cleaner in safe mode then re-installing my drivers.
4. Re-installing direct x using a setup file from a random steam game.
5. Doing a system restore from as far back as I had (April 25th)
I recently bought a new power supply, along with more ram because I was already ordering the power supply. When the package came and I set everything up in the computer, the PC turned on and everything was fine. I started to play a game with my friend and the computer just turned off. No error message, nothing. I believe the computer overheated, but I could be completely wrong. Now, when I start my computer up, it gets to the Launch System Repair (Recommended) or Start Windows Normally. If I select one of them, it will get into the 'Starting Windows' screen with the orbs, and then the monitor will just go blank. The computer still runs in the background, but my monitor just is blank. It is not the RAM (I switched and went to my old RAM) And I also cannot boot into safe mode, or anything of the sort, as the same thing happens. And I cannot boot from a CD (Tried with a windows 7 repair disc and computer goes blank again)
