thread here so i am not sure if i am posting in the right area, but i am having major problem with my pc. When ever i start playing a game, what ever it may be, (Starcraft 2, Battlefield 3, League of Legends, Ect) 10 to 20 minutes into playing the game, my computer randomly freezes, and i am forced to unplug it, and plug it back in to restart it. This never happens when ever i am just browsing the internet. ntel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50GHz4.00 GB(3.00 GB usable)32-bit processor

I just built a new computer and whenever I play the game CoD:mw3 my computer randomly crashes, sometimes it'll show pale blue on my screen sometimes it'll be yellow and there really is no specific timing for it either. I've already upgraded my drivers.
I have an acer aspire M5800 Windows 7 home edition 64bit that is currently inoperable or barely least ways it started with me playing League of Legends, I recieved a noticed stating that the drivers had to be updated after the game closed automatically.I updated the computer it was running fine went to play the game and when i started to play it "crashed" the game didnt close but the colors are streaky and mostly primary colors.red green black some blue Ive noticed the resolution displays at 600X800 and the device manager has a question mark on my video card with an exclamation mark on the pci driver ..when i try to update this one it tells me that it can not find any drivers for it...the computer runs extremely slow if i can even get the OS to load any thought on what this could be?
Computer games make my Pc crash. This happens about 10-15 minutes after I start any game. However, most games only crash when the window fits the whole screen and some games crash whenever it fits the whole screen AND whenever the game is resizableFor example, whenever I play Runescape in fullscreen, it crashes in about 10 minutes after I start the game. This doesn't happen whenever I have it in a resizable window. However the game, Minecraft, crashes in fullscreen AND in a resizable window.I already tried updating my drivers but according to my computer, my drivers are all updated to date. Here are my specs:Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.110408-1633)Language: English (Regional Setting: English)System Manufacturer: Dell Inc.System Model: Inspiron 580 BIOS: Default System BIOSProcessor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 650 @ 3.20GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHzMemory: 8192MB RAMAvailable OS Memory: 8120MB RAMPage File: 4620MB used, 11616MB availableWindows Dir: C:WindowsDirectX Version: DirectX 11DX Setup Parameters: Not foundUser DPI Setting: Using System DPISystem DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)DWM DPI Scaling: DisabledDxDiag Version: 6.01.7600.16385 32bit UnicodeSound Tab 1: No problems found.Input Tab: No problems found[CODE]
The computer has worked great for years with 2x1 GB of OCZ PC 500 memory. I added 2 more sticks for 4x1 GB of OCZ PC 500 memory, all are matched sticks. The computer crashes to the desktop while gaming. Memory passes MemTest86, several passes with Hardware/Software memory hole enabled. One other thing, at this time I am using Windows XP 32 and what started this upgrade to 4 GB is I'm getting ready to install Windows 7 Home 64.

I recently installed windows 7 64-bit. Everything's running great except for when I play games. Certain games will for fairly long periods (hours of game play) while others will crash within an hour. The only games that I get to enjoy are League of Legends, Batman: arkham asylum, and Fable III, the last two happen to be microsoft games. Others such as, battlefield 3, FEAR, FEAR 2, metro 2033 and others always seem to crash on me
I just built a new machine and did a clean install of Windows 7 RC last week. For the most part it runs like a dream, very much up to par.
However, there are occasional Blue Screens and game crashes that happen while putting little strain on the PC, in my opinion.
I am typically running Firefox, Ventrilo and World of Warcraft when the issue occurs. Occasionally I get dips in my frame rate from around 60fps to 15-25fps. I received a notification that it was in relation to my video card and that I should update the driver, however I installed the 185.85 nvidia driver when I assembled it all.
Is there anyone that has experienced similar issues? if so what was your fix?
open the catylist control center, click on power play, and there are 2 sliders and u must set these up to OPTIMUM COMPUTER PERFORMANCE and NOT ON THE OPTIMUM BATTERY LIFE.
I am running Windows 7 and frequently get a screen freeze while playing Battlefield Vietnam II or Battlefield II only. This happens quite often and I see no patterns except for these 2 games. I have updated my video drivers. I have an NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 (Prerelease - WDDM 1.1)
So recently i was having a lot of AMD driver issues and crashes while playing Dota 2 and some other games, Now over the past 3 days i have been getting BSOD crashes as well while playing games. This does not happen immediately in games, it appears to be random.I reset all my BIOS settings just in case it was my overclock, but i had another this afternoon afterwards.

I've tried everything (including Tom's Hardware) Google has churned up but to no avail. This includes clean installs of my drivers, registry edits and even a reformat and fresh installation of Windows 7.I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, with the following (relevant) hardware:
I've played well over 350 hours of Battlefield 3 without a problem until I reformatted my computer for other, since resolved, issues. After the reformat It just wouldn't work. As previously mentioned I've tried all the common solutions for my issues, starting out assuming it was Battlefield that was causing them.I'm hoping it's not a hardware related issue, but I have a feeling that it might be. I've had this computer (custom built) for just over a year and a half.
Need some help determining the cause of frequent crashes while playing either game, a variety of error numbers. Tried updating graphic drivers, no change.
[code] Now here is what has been going on since 26/05, While I was playing "World of Tanks" the game froze, sound was stuck and screen turned black with white stripes, I had to force a restart, the minidump was accusing a dll file of nvidia's which when I searched for on the internet it sounded like a random hiccup of Nvidia and it only happened once so I ignored it. But the game started crashing to the desktop since then but not very often, it never did that with my older pc, so I don't know if it's from the game side or my side.Yesterday around 8pm, I was about to transfer a 7gig folder from my main disk to the storage disk, as soon as I opened the partition that I was transfering to, I had a blue screen saying only "Unknown hard error", I force restarted and the MB resat the Bios and it restarted again and since then windows wouldn't boot, it kept asking for repair and during that repair it said "System was unable to boot" several times and after the many repair runs it kept saying it failed to fix the problem. Then I unplugged my storage HDDs and only left the system HDD, booted from windows 7 DVD and tried to repair but still said it couldn't fix the problem, in the report it said there was a problem with ci.dll, so I started "command" tried these commands (bootrec.exe /fixboot, bootrec.exe /fixmbr, bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd) after that I restarted and windows booted perfectly, right after that I shut down the computer, plugged in the 2 other HDDs, windows booted perfectly then all of the sudden, the keyboard wasn't responding (not even it's leds were working) same thing with my mouse, I looked at the HDD led and it wasn't doing anything at all, no small flickers or anything, so I force restarted, it booted like normal, I started to transfer a folder to 1 of my storage HDDs, opened up firefox, it was acting really slow, everything I was doing on it was lagging although nothing was draining the CPU or ram or anything, opened few pages, when the transfer was about to finish, the pc restarted.
After the restart, the event log says "kernal power" event id 41, category 63 and it didn't give me any minidumps. Anyway I went to sleep around 3AM, left my downloads running and was hopping nothing would happen but something sure happened, the event log says at 4:30 AM "The Windows Modules Installer service entered the stopped state." then no new events till 6:45 AM which was a warning saying "TCP/IP has chosen to restrict the scale factor due to a network condition. This could be related to a problem in a network device and will cause degraded throughput." No other events till I had waken up at 10:37 and found the monitor turned off not responding, HDD led completely off, no flickers, basically nothing was responding. So here I'm don't know what the hell am I supposed to do, I have a decent knowledge regarding windows problems, but this problem is too open and wide, is it 1 of my hard disks? is it the lonely GPU I have right now? is it the ram? is it the CPU? I need some guidance on how to eliminate each of them.before the MB resat the Bios, the CPU was overclocked to 4.2GHz and I tested it many times and it was very stable, so when the system hanged after the boot problem was fixed, there was no overclocking involved, there was no heating issue, temps were normal, I have a 1000w plus gold certified PSU.
Been having some crashes. At first they occurred on start up. Claiming the computer wasn't properly shut down. Now today, the other crashes started, with the first happening out of nowhere, the second happening upon starting a video game. I've been without crashes for a while now, only having used my browser(Opera) and copying some files to an external hard drive. As well as the SF tool.I only have 2 dump files available. SF tool file should be in attachments, unless I made a mistake somewhere

The computer screen just freezes and all my USB ports become inactive, but the computer stays on and there isn't any whirling sounds, so I don't believe it is hardware. So far what I have tried is that I re installed windows 7 many times(at least 5). I have updated all my GPU drivers, and one issue I read on the EVGA website was that the Intel HD adapter driver was conflicting with it so I disabled the driver but it didn't solve the issue.
I have Windows 7, and I want to play 'I Spy Spooky Mansion', but everytime I play it says "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows that you are running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and the contact the software publisher."
I have an AMD Athalon IIx4 640 3.gig w/ 4. gig memory computer. I play Frontierville on Facebook alot. I am having trouble with computer shut down in the middle of the game. It doesn't blue screen it simply shuts down. POOOF!!!! gone. Then I have to restart the computer. I am running Windows 7 64 bit OS.
i am running windows 7 64bit Ultimate, i am currently having the same problem i use my computer for Flight Simualtor online gaming and last night my FSX game froze which i was not to concerned about but when i started to have repeated freezes in game i decided to shutdown and restart computer. i then had the problem you were having i would get to the windows startup with the "4 Colours" and my computer would not load any further, i then went to bed due to frustration and woke up next morning to find that my computer worked perfectly.this worked for about 4hrs when i recieved exact problem again and have spent the last 3 hrs trying to get my computer to work!!!Finally i am back online but it did it itself with normal startup.
Basically, what happens is, if a game runs in fullscreen, there's a slight chance my computer stops responding entirely. The HDD Indicator flickers, and buzzing can be heard- as if it is trying to play the game. However, I am met with a black screen and no sound. I can not Ctrl-Alt-Del or Ctrl-Shift-Esc; it does nothing. It is also very erratic, it seems to be quite selective of what games do, and what games don't run, for instance, Half Life 2 and it's episodic expansions, as well as L4D2 and 1- Portal, and Portal 2 run fine. Fallout 3 and New Vegas, the same. UT2004 Runs swell. UT3 however, hangs. Metro 2033, Hangs. Skyrim works beautifully. Oblivion Hangs.I'd like to think it is a resolution issue, as I am using a 17" TV with HDMI. The resolution is at 1280 x 720, and my Graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce 550Ti. My Operating System is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
Lately, when I play games i can see that bug.My screen shuts off and computer freezes(I can`t use keyboard(caps lock/ctrl+alt+delete..)or mouse)I heard the last game sound or something like that When this arrives,i can`t restart my computer,i have to press the power button. This problem appeared with the purchase of a computer, from the first day.Event viewer got only this:The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. Quote: - System
My computer system crashes when I play most video games (only company of heroes and civilization 5 wont crash). I have already ran all the stress tests including memtest 86+, prime95 and furmark without any errors/crashes. I suspected that it was a driver issue so I decided to do a clean reinstall of windows 7 and then install all the drivers. It had absolutely no effect I updated my motherboard and video card BIOS but that didnt help either. I tried disabling ULPS and 2D clocks for my video card but nothing happened. The only critical event that is logged in event viewer is "kernel ID 41" (Its just a notification that my computer was shut off unexpectedly). When the computer crashes, a black screen will appear and the last bit of audio that was playing will get distorted and it will keep on playing(It will make a loud BRRRRR noise).I have to then manually restart the computer and boot back into windows.

i have the same problem with a benq joybook a53, every time i close the lid, when i open it , i have a blue screen, and it doesn`t matter if i put it on sleep or hibernate, only with "do nothing" doesn`t appear the blue screen, but i really do nead to close the lid and put it to sleep, or hibernate. i`ve attached the files from c:\windowsminidump
sometimes when coming out of sleep mode I'll be greeted with the boot screen. Upon logging into Windows, I get the "Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown" error:

I gave Best Buy my Sony VAIO laptop to fix it since I have the three year extended service. All I was getting fixed was a key on my mouse pad. I figured, no biggie.
They replaced my motherboard because the mouse key input was faulty. My computer now shuts off if I do any intensive task. For example, I scanned my computer for viruses with Malwarebytes and it turned off. There are no crash reports, and nothing in the logs to indicate the crash, but I will upload the full report anyway. I also have a CSV file with the temperature readouts (CPU gets up to 88 C, so I think this may have something to do with it, lol, but the temps right at crash were 54 C after climbing to 83 C or 78 C).
If I run any of the Prime95 tests, my laptop crashes fairly quickly.
