Blue Screens And Game Crashes
I just built a new machine and did a clean install of Windows 7 RC last week. For the most part it runs like a dream, very much up to par.
However, there are occasional Blue Screens and game crashes that happen while putting little strain on the PC, in my opinion.
I am typically running Firefox, Ventrilo and World of Warcraft when the issue occurs. Occasionally I get dips in my frame rate from around 60fps to 15-25fps. I received a notification that it was in relation to my video card and that I should update the driver, however I installed the 185.85 nvidia driver when I assembled it all.
Is there anyone that has experienced similar issues? if so what was your fix?

BSOD: Pc Crashes Once In A While , With Blue Screens And Reboot
The pc crashes once in a while , with blue screens and reboot. I had the same prob with winxp so i installed Windows 7 supposing that restarts would stop...But nothing.. So far i have done these: remove the tick on "automatically restart" -> (so i could see the blue screen.. update drivers, with device manager and driver genius -> nothing update bios from asus website -> nothing do check disk -> nothing defrag -> nothing usb legacy support disabled from bios (smwhere read that)->nothing sptd.sys fixed -> nothing Rc task disabled (read that too) -> nothing sleep and hibernation set to never - >nothing run memtest (3.5) but i have difficulties because when it starts testing (single cpu or multiple) at test 2 and 45% reboots. when i choose to run memtest previous version (3.4) it recognizes cpu as pentium 3 and completes the test with 10 errors at test 5. I noticed that asus set to my memories timings 5-5-5-12 and voltage 1,8 , so i put timings 4-4-4-12 and voltage 2.2 (manufacture had these timings although gives voltage 2.0)

Blue Screen - Blue Screens
I have been using the Windows 7 beta (build 7000) since the day it came out publicly without any problems. I downloaded both the 32 and 64 bit versions of the RC. Whenever I try to install either version I get a BSOD during the install. The DVD boots, it goes through the first Grey Progress bar, shows the new windows boot splash animation, then goes tot he BSOD with both versions. The message says DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and the bottom displays *** STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000008, 0 x0000000000000000) I have tried systematically disconnecting ever component I could one at a time. I have 3 SATA Hard Drives connected, which I disconnected one at a time, and tried only one plugged at a time. 1 SATA DVDROM disconnected and connected 1 PATA DVDROM Disconnected and connected 6 GB Memory DDR2 PC6400, 2x 1GB sticks 2x 2GB sticks Tried disconnecting each, reseating, and installing with only one inserted at a time I took out my Belkin Wireless Card I disabled the SATA, PATA, Network, and integrated sound one at a time in BIOS Reset BIOS to "Fail Safe Options" None of these things worked. I am really enjoying Windows 7, and I hope there is a solution to this. I would like to upgrade to the RC, and I hope it is definitely fixed before RTM. The last thing I could think it would be related to is the Motherboard itself, which I dont know any way to get around.Â

Various Blue Screens
I have been having various blue screens over the past few months. I have replaced my RAM, changed my video card, run driver verifiers, etc. to no avail. I am unsure what to do at this point. Some blue screens I have had include: The bugcheck code is 0xfe (0x6,,,) = USBBUGCODE_BAD_SIGNATURE An Internal data structure (object) has been corrupted. Probable cause listed as the Microsoft USB 1.1 & 2.0 Port Driver Memory Management System_Thread_Exception_Not_Handled IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL REFERENCE_BY_POINTER The most recent Dumps cite .sys files such as dxgkrnl.sys, dxgmms1.sys, ntkrnlpa.exe, and nvlddmkm.sys (which I assume would be an ati reference if I didn't switch out my ATI card to test). I am unsure what to do to fix these problems. Nothing seems to be working. Is it possible it is my motherboard? or hard drive? Or perhaps it is an error without my Windows 7 version, which was from a Seminar entitled Microsoft, The New Efficiency.

Laptop Blue Screens
Ok i got one of those store bought laptops that comes with vista basic and a whole bunch of mess and non-needed partitions. So i decided to just install windows 7 over the top. I started the install app, deleted all the partitions and created a new one using all the unallocated space. Then i installed windows 7 to the new partition. It installed fine, booted for the first time, i was tired so i shut it down and went to bed. The next morning i turned it on it looked like it was booting fine but then it went straight to start up repair, the start up repair went for about 30 minutes and said no solution could be found. I tried a couple more times, every time the start up repair would take longer to say the same thing, until it simply started blue screening shortly after "Starting Windows". So i decided to try reinstalling over the top, i put the installation disk in started the setup it loaded files and said "Starting Windows" shortly after it blue screened. So now i had no clue what was happening, i managed to get into start up repair somehow, don't remember, and got into command prompt, from there i formatted the partition deleting all files on the disk. I then tried to boot to check if the format was successful and it said no bootmgr etc was found, so i determined the hard-drive was now clean. So i put the installation disk in and booted from it, same thing loaded files, "Starting Windows", blue screen. I have no clue what is going on here and would appreciate any help, i am beginning to think it is a hardware error og some sort.

Blue Screens And Other Woes
We have had so many problems with a new pc build with Windows 7, I am thinking of going out and buying a copy of Windows Vista. I really wanted to avoid this as I thought Windows 7 would be better than Vista. We put on an earlier build last month, but I think due to an incompatible wireless usb stick the system kept on blue screening. Also the Aero effects kept on switching off and the troubleshooter said there wasn't a problem. I put on the RC of Windows 7 a couple of days ago. I checked the event viewer and there were lots of errors, but nothing critical so I decided to plough ahead. But I have had 2 blue screens whilst installing software. Looking in the event viewer it says the critical error's source is the "Kernal Power" (event ID 41). The thing is that it wasn't trying to go to sleep (it was trying to install software after all).

Lots Of Blue Screens
Downloaded and installed Windows 7. Been running Vista Home Premium with no problems. However, during the install (Dell Optiplex GX620)....almost complete and got a "input not approved" error floating on the screen. Nothing else. I rebooted choosing F8, and finally used the lower resolution option and it finished installing. NOW...I'm not sure if this is the cause of the rest of the problems or not. I'm about to reformat and try again.BUT.....everything loads up fine. But during the day, I will have for no apparent reason, it just go black, then into a blue screen. Messages are there, but not long enough to read what is causing it. Does not seem to be related to anything I'm doing. Completely random at this point.Very frustrating because when it is working, I love what I see so far. But the Blue Screens I'm afraid will cause me to bail out of the BETA TEST until and if I can come across what is causing them. I realize there are thousands of combinations of computers, software, hardware, on and on and on and to narrow it down this soon into the beta release may be a bit much to ask for. And lastly, the shut down part has never worked. No matter what option I choose, shutdown, or restart...it blue screens. It does not shut down in a managed way.SO...for now. I'm going to reformat and try again.

Frequent Blue Screens
My computer worked fine at 6 this morning, then I shut it down and turned it back on a few hours later and it ran disk check (I assume it actually crashed while shutting down the first time, I didn't watch it). After the disk check it started fine, then I opened Firefox and I got a blank blue screen and it restarted. This time I ran the start up tools, and it crashed again during those. I booted into XP for a bit, then decided to try again, skipped the start up tools, and it worked fine for a while before crashing again. I rebooted, started it normally, then copied some files to an external hard drive (figured if I wanted to get anything done I'd need to use XP as it doesn't seem to be having problems), and when I unplugged the drive it happened again. I haven't changed anything since it was working fine, all I did during the last working boot was a little programming and web surfing, I haven't changed anything, no new hardware/software, etc. so I have no idea what's causing it. Using a Toshiba Satellite L35-S2161, 2 GB RAM, Intel Celeron M CPU, Dual boot XP/Windows 7

Blue Screens During Sleep
Windows 7 Blue Screens while in a sleep state.ALL latest drivers are installed. Tested various option with hybrid sleep and without. It's rather pathetic as the OS does not log that it experienced a blue screen, no dump, no indication whatsoever other than when you boot you get a warning asking you if you want to boot into safe mode etc. So finding what the problem is, is difficult, Vista hardly ever had "Windows Failures" that I experienced.Windows 7 all I have is Windows Failures.Any advice on how to correct this. I've submitted everything to Microsoft with no responce. The problem is absolutely related to sleep and disk idle!

Calendar Causes Blue Screens
I copied my program files for the Vista Windows Calendar to my Windows 7 and it has been working great. Only problem occasionally when I try to delete an entry it causes a Blue Screen. This has happened 3 times now. I don't know what would cause this though. I have been noticing a lot more Blue Screens the RC. I had none with the Beta and have had about 6-7 with the RC, what happened I thought the RC was an improvement.

Several Blue Screens, Right After Boot Or Logon
Since I've installed Windows 7 on my PC I've been getting several bluescreens with different messages on boot or right after logon. I've been trying to find solutions to them on the web, but I can't find solutions that seem to be related to my problem(s). Below is an excerpt from WinDbg, I can provide them in full if there might be anything more that is relevant in them, but I don't want to flood this forum unnecessarily. Is there somebody on here that might be able to point me in the right direction to finding solutions to my problem(s)?

Blue Screens During Upgrade Install
We have a new Presario with Vista in the office, and tried to upgrade to Windows 7 Release Candidate yesterday, it seemed to start off simple enough, but at the point it started to install the Win 7 features (it did the uncompress install, backup data, etc) phase, it got to 6% and then blue screened (within the install watch window), and then reverted back to the Vista install. It didn't allow me enough time to note any error messages or give me options, it just flipped back to the restore phase saying that the upgrade was unsuccessful).I tried it with a new download, and with and without the check for updates part of the initial phase (finding only 1 1033k update).Don't know where to go from here?

Random Blue Screens In W7 Rc1
Late yesterday I was working on my computer at home and it crashed randomly, giving me a blue screen. I had RC1-64bit on that machine for maybe a week and half or two weeks before that ever happened. After the blue screen, it could not successfully boot back into windows, so I inserted the w7 cd and ran the repair option. After doing this I was able to get back into windows, however it would still randomly blue screen every so often, sometimes just after logging in.Â

Win 7 Tons Of Blue Screens
Well i installed windows 7 on this computer and so far it's had alot of blue screens. Like at least everytime I use my computer almost. It seems to happen most whenever I'm using the browsers(both IE and firefox). The errors i've been getting are memory_management and PFN_LIST_CORRUPT. ive updated all my drivers and updated windows. If I don't do anything on the computer it doesn't crash. I played Crysis last night on max settings for an hour or more and it didn't crash or anything like that either. Also it seems to happen most whenever I first start the computer in the day. But later in the day it crashes less and less.

HP Scanjet G4010 Blue Screens
I have a Scanjet G4010 connected via USB to a Win7 Build 7100 x64 system. I got the drivers and HP software to load just fine using Vista compatibility mode. Windows7 reports the scanner is working properly and has no errors or warnings. It shows up fine in the Devices and Printers folders and the Copy button on scanner runs the HP Copy utility just like in Vista, no problem. BUT, when I try to actually scan something, either by pushing the scan to PDF or scan JPG, or going through the Windows scan utility, the scanner runs a cycle, and just when I expect to see results, I get a BSOD. My system has had no other issues running Windows7. It has been very stable and I have been pleasantly surprised. I have tried removing the HP software, but still no joy. I can't find any other drivers to try and not sure what to do next.

Blue Screens During Startup And Usage
The problem is, Windows 7 gives me errors when using programs such as IE, WoW, etc. Blue Screens. Often when I startup it blue screens to a dump screen. Problem is resolved by just rebooting. This issue seems to have been coming up when I installed a Galaxy GT 240 video card. Using CRT connection to my 42" LG LCD. Motherboard is Biostar G41-DVI, processor is Pentium D 820 which is set to 220 which gives me roughly 3.1ghz. The fan is around 3k rpm and the temp levels are steady at around 31c. Could the issue be with the video card? It started actually the first time I installed it. Could there be a setting in bios I'm over looking. I have not tried to update the drivers for the card.

Random Blue Screens Before Login
I ran windows rc for 6 months without any problems, and right now I'm working with a system that is not overclocked. I've had three occasions where I got a bsod before the login screen and I had to do a system restore to get into windows. However, I never get a bsod while I'm in windows. My memory is running at the maximum recommended voltage, and I ran a checkdisk but it didn't do anything. Again, these are seemingly random, but once they start occurring they continue until I do a system restore. I know i'm not providing much info to help diagnose the problem, but it's all that i can think of. Any diagnostic/fix suggestions?

BSOD: Blue Screens When Using Flash Player
Over the last month I have been having problems with my computer. About 2 weeks after I installed a new piece of hardware (an ATI TV Wonder 650 pcie to be precise) my keyboard started acting funny. Sometimes it would randomly turn off. Other times it would randomly type slashes. After about 2 days of that I started getting blue screens when using flash player. Things gradually got worse until I couldn't even access a file without a blue screen. Throughout that time I attempted to figure out the problem, but couldn't. Today I finally reinstalled Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Things were going rather well, except that windows was having trouble recognizing the tv tuner card, but everything was running well regardless. I left the house with my computer running for about an hour and when I returned my computer had blue-screened and restarted itself. I took out the tuner card hoping it was the problem, but a while later the computer again blue screened while doing a restart.
