Driver For Gigabyte Onboard Raid Controller
Jun 25, 2009
So I installed the Windows Seven RC x64 today on my desktop machine after having a great experience on my notebook.
Most things worked out just fine, but the onboard raid controller is giving me alot of trouble (I got two hard disks connected there, should be raid0?), my mainboard is a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 an this is SiSoft Sandras report on my disk controllers:
Browsing this forum I found severel interesting posts, for example I tested the drivers of Driver and I tried the mainboard drivers for Vista in compatibility mode, but nothing works. I also looked for the "ITE IT8212 ATA RAID Controller" drivers directly, but there was nothing concerning Windows Seven. After that I tried the Released: Intel Chipset Software 9.1.1.1014 but that still did not solve anything.

How can I uninstall a Gigabyte raid contoller without crashing my Win 7 OS? Uninstall is being prevented because "the OS is on the contoller"! Win 7 64 bit is on a Crucial SSD boot drive and AHCI is set in BIOS. However the raid controller is setting all internal drives to SCSI!

I have been trying to install Windows 7 x64 Ultimate on a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 (rev 2.0)
and everytime i do the install fails and the install is then rolled back.
I currently have Vista x32 installed on Gigabyte Raid 0 (there's also an intel raid option but i've never used it). The Vista install runs fine and i've never had a problem.
When i try to install using the GA-P35-DS3 (rev 2.0) raid drivers from the Gigabytes site i get the usual microsoft grumbles about unsigned drivers but then the install seems to go OK from there until the install completes and reboots. At this point it errors out and reboots into the OS rollback install.
Does anyone know if this is an issue with this driver or does anyone have a link to another driver?

Installed a new M4 ssd today and loaded windows on it. Previously i was using 2 raptors in raid 0 for the os and programs. I re raided the 2 raptors and connected them to the jmicron ports and set them up for raid in bios, then created the raid 0 array no prob. Windows doesnt see the array when loaded up and i have the latest rst drivers installed..did this prior to the os install on the ssd. using the x58 e760a1 mobo. under device manager, the raid controller has an exclamation mark and no driver installed yet i have the latest rst 10.8.0.1003 installed..

I was recently deploying Windows 7 on an older PC(not too old) and in the upgrade proccess it said setup could not continue and rolled back my upgrade. I suspect that it is because of the raid, because it stopped in the middle of the expanding files stage.
The driver version on there is 1.0.0.62, which I believe is the most recent for vista, so can I rule this out as a reason. Theres 50GB free for upgrade.

I have a W7 64 bit machine and I am trying to update the RAID controller driver without success.I am blocked by W7 from updating the driver and get the "Windows has determined that the best driver is already installed" message.I have tried to work around that and have been unsuccessful.Ultimately I am trying to enable a program "Hard Disk Sentinel" to view and display hard disk SMART info. Unfortunately the RAID driver controlling the HDD's on my PC have a date signature of 2009 and need to be updated to take advantage of SMART information technology

I have just bought two brand new WD 500 GB RE4 HDD's and connected them coorectly for RAID 1. I have changed the BIOS and Pressed Ctrl+F to create the RAID and this has been successful. When installing Windows you obviously get to the aprt where you need to load the floppy drivers to locate the drives...
I have downloaded ever driver from the Gigabyte support drive and loaded them onto a USB, not one driver can be seen when the USB is "Browsed" too...
How important is it that the drivers are on a floppy, as I do not have a floppy drive or access to a floppy and drives. Also what driver should be downloading as I tried the 3.2.1540.17 one and that was not seen, so I just downloaded them all in an attempt for success.

I've just installed Windows 7 RC build 7100 onto my system. As always like with Vista installations in the past, I run into this problem. I have a DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D motherboard and for some reason my RAID drive doesn't show up. I can see the two HDs I have set up as a raid appear and separate individual drives under My Computer but can't access them unless I format them which is something I dont want to do. I checked under Device Manager and under Stoare Controllers, NVIDIA nForce RAID Controller is installed...but I think I'm missing the proper RAID tool? I'm not too sure about this.
My Device Manager lists everything as installed, but each time I restart my computer and boot up, the computer is trying to install some drives but "Failed." The prompt says, "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller" x3, and all 3 Failed to install. I have no idea if this is the actual problem because I'm trying to get my RAID Stripe to work and they are both on SATA connections and not IDE...I have tried a few sets of nForce packs such as Fernandos_XP_64bit_nForce4-5_non-AHCI_WHQL_PACK_v5.4 but no avail.

I am trying to upgrade from Windows Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 32 bit but when booting from the upgrade disk it has problems finding my HDD's and says that windows cannot be installed on them once found.
When choosing a clean install from loading the disk from within Vista it starts to install and then when it restarts it brings up a blue screen saying that windows cannot be installed and is I have installed any new HDD's or controllers then on uninstall them.
When trying to upgrade at first it was complaining about the ATI ACHI Compatable RAID controller not being compatable but now it starts to do the install and then on restart it does the same as the clean install.

Anyone managed to find Windows 7 compatiable drivers for "GigaRAID ITE8212 IDE RAID controller"?
I tried using the Vista drivers in compatibilty mode but no luck unfortunately. Issue being is that my 2nd internal hard drive is not showing up in My Computer however it is listed in device manager. This is the only item left in device manager that isnt installed properly :-(
I checked my motherboard drivers page @ GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Specification - GA-8I955X Pro but they only have Vista drivers listed.

I've been trying to find the drivers suitable for Windows SEVEN. I need it to use a couple of hdd in pair with RAID configuration. Before anything :I tried the RAID with VISTA64 and worked perfectly so I don't need to set that part in bios..etc..
So now it's SEVEN turn... I simply can't find the drivers... it says that they are not signed by microsoft so they can't be used.
I was trying with some controller RAID drivers from other MB...newer versions but I haven't found any good luck by far.

I am going to be getting 2 new WD10EALS drives in the next day or so. My plan was to put them in raid using the onboard ICH10R controller on my mobo (an ASUS Sabertooth X58). I had wanted to run WDTLER to turn TLER on, but after reading some reviews it seems I might not be able to as it is reported WD disabled TLER on these drives completely.
Im curious if there is a way to change the timeout for the drives in the matrix storage controller? So if I do have an issue my raid won't die (I'll be using these drives in raid 0 for gaming only). I dont care about the data, I just don't want to have to go thru the hassle of reinstalling the games should a drive get dropped from the array. I am thinking about getting a wd green 2tb drive for backups but just curious if there is a way to change timeout via the controller.
edit: And by change timeout I mean how long the controller waits for the disk before dropping it from the array, like could i set it too 2.5 mins just to be sure?

I am using an Asus P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard and Windows 7 Professional. I am having a problem with my external (esata) disk drive being recognized by the OS. It used to work and now it don't?? During boot up I see the drive in the bios messages on my screen. Also when I look in device manager it shows the drive and says this device is working properly. However, when I click on "computer" its not there and no software program such as backup finds the drive either. I have tried uninstalling the drive in device manager and then rebooting. No luck? I am not sure when it quit working or why. Its not the drive as I have tried more than one and they are recognized when used in the USB port. I have uninstalled the Marvell 61xx RAID controller in the device manager also but no change?

I was searchn on the net for Dell Inspiron 1501 help.
Subject of help needed: Dell Inspiron 1501 onboard wifi card not working with Windows 7 Ultimate and NEED help getting a working driver.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 currently using XP w/SP3 as I'm typing now.
I have made a Acronis backup image of my Dell 1501 laptop so I can quickly within 30 min.s pop back my Windows 7 Ultimate back on when I can either find and get a Dell Inspiron 1501 onboard wifi driver that works OR buy a 100% sure Windows 7 USB wireless adapter with driver.
I have freshly formatted hd and fresh full install of Windows 7 Ultimate and seems to load and work great BUT.....
I went to Dell support / Driver download website page and I entered in our Dell Service Tag number and in the drag box, they are NO Windows 7. So, I'm guessing they do not support and offer a Windows 7 driver for my onboard wifi card?
I currently have stinky dialup internet and live in a rurual country area but sometimes go up in town to visit a spot that has cable wifi connection. My onboard wifi card with XP works great.. I have installed Vista and the drive for my onboard wifi card works fine.
I went in to town to connection to cable with wireless router high speed connection to get Windows 7 updates but this onboard wifi card seems to recieve and reports wifi signals fine but trying to get it to connect and go is another. I have tried many many different wifi signals and areas and this onboard wifi card with Windows 7 does not want to work. I'm guessing it needs a Windows 7 driver. Do you think its not working cause of the driver too?
I need help finding out if they are anyone else with a Dell Inspiron 1501 have Windows 7 and have they found a Windows 7 driver work?
If I wanted to buy a 100% sure best range hottest USB wireless adapter coming with Windows 7 driver, what Name and Model would you recommend?

I have been running win 7 for about 6 mths now dual boot with xp. I have done a fresh install and got rid of xp and running win 7 straight up. My system is a Gigabyte AM2+ with a phenomII black edition 4 core., 4gb ram onboard video.
Now for the question. i got thinking today and realized i hadnt installed any chipset drivers etc. I look in device manager and all the drivers are from microsoft and from 2006 ? So i go to gigabyte and get the win 7 download but all it installs is the graphic driver and usb filter driver nothing else. I try driver max and it says my drivers are up to date. What am i missing here.

Im an owner of the M912M netbook with Windows 7 RC 7100. I bought recently a external network adapter (Rokland N3) based on the Ralink RT2870 chipset and i have a problem connecting it to the netbook.
Installed the software+driver that came with it on CD and when connecting the adapter Windows says "Driver didn't install etc. etc.". Tried a Windows 7 driver which came from Ralink for this chipset and says same thing. Also Windows Update finds the driver but everytime it tries to install it it comes with a error (80070002, to delete all temp files of the WU, done that but same) and doesn't install it.
Same adapter installed and works fine on different laptops, Sony Vaio VGN-A497XP with same Windows 7 RC 7100, Acer 4630Z with Windows Vista so it shouldnt be a driver or OS problem but something specific to the M912.
Contacted Rokland and they guessed that it should e conflicting with the internal adapter so i removed it together with its driver but nothing.

I thought this was going to be an easy fix, but...Quick Setup: Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3 version 1.0; I am setting RAID zero with two WD 160gig HDs. A Pioneer DVD drive and a Lite-On DVD drive. This is a 64-bit install.
I set the RAID config and cleaned the drives. Popped the Windows 7 install disk in my DVD drive and the install began. Set the language prefs and clicked 'Install.' Shortly after I get the following error...Load Driver
A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. My first guess was not a CD/DVD driver but a RAID driver is needed. I tried using the latest RAID drivers from Gigabyte. I made sure I was using the 64-bit version of the drivers.
When installing the driver, Windows install responds with "can not find the drive." 'Drive' not 'driver.'
There are no drivers available for my two DVD drives. The standard Windows driver has always been sufficient. What driver is the install is looking for? Do you think I may have missed something in the RAID config?
