Dec 6, 2011After installing Windows7 Ultimate x64 on a EEE PC Asus 1215B Seashell serie, the button which toggle wifi did not work anymore, like any other keyboard function keys (less importante now). When I log on I receive a message in a popup windows which says: You must install ATK0100 driver! I had installed the P4GX before noticed the problem. I've tried to install the driver downloaded from asus support site but I receive an error message in a pop-up windows, without any clue about what the problem is. Nothing is registered in Device manager, nothing is found in Registry, no file related to atk* in system32driverstorefilerepository. It's not possible remove nor reinstall, cause nothing bad remains after my failed installations. I've tried many times, with Troubleshoot Compatibility and Run as administrator (my regular user is also an admin). After executing the driver app, one command prompt appears showing the log of the installation process, and all of sudden disappear. No control about it. It's only possible to read the upper case word FAILURE before the window close. No log is found. It works when I restore the machine to Windows 7 Starter that comes from factory. I dont know how to get the drivers inside the hidden partition.

Jul 25, 2011I've got a Dell work laptop. It has McAfee Safeboot and other work related security things. I don't have many "privileges" on the machine. It connects to my work wifi network just fine (automatically) but I can't get it to connect to any wifi networks outside of work. If go to network settings and look at the wireless adapter and view available wifi networks, nothing comes up. It looks like the laptop has an alternative program that controls network adapter (Dell network adapter program) but it won't open when I double click it.

Dec 5, 2011I have an HP pavillion desktop (s5360f) with Atheros 802.11 a/b/g/n Dualband Wireless Module and D-Link router DIR-615. My numerous Laptops and iPhons / iPads work fine, but this desktop which is further away from the router (in another room, about 20 meters) only shows 1-2 bars of wifi. First I bought a big additional D-Link antenna (7Ghz) but it didn't really help - sometimes connction shows 3 bars. I was told this antenna should help a lot. Then I checked with my router settings and saw that the HP uses "g" connection when everything else uses "n". I even set it to only use "n" but still it shows the HP using "g". I updated the driver (Atheros 9.2.0.113 for AR5B91), but it didn't help. I have "n" enabled in Atheros in Device manager. Now I'm lost and can't think of anything else that can be a problem and / or how to fix it... I don't have any thick walls between the router and the HP, my iPhone seems to work in this room just fine...

Can someone help me with how to bring in Internet to the Wireless Network? I am sorry but I don't have enough networking acumen which would enable me to do this without assistance.

When the software was initially activated, outgoing faxes were sent fine. Recently, it's stopped working completely. Only the coverpage is sent, the fax job fails and retries as many times as I have it configured or until I delete the fax job. I've tried typing directly into the section for page 2 of the fax, and I've tried attaching pdf or txt files with the same incomplete result. I can view the complete fax in the outbound box.

Sep 13, 2011I can't complete a fax in windows fax and scan it will send maybe 2 pages of a 4 page fax and then shut down with a fatal error message. I'm running windows 7/64 bit and using an older Agere V.92 ver. 8.36 internal modem that I removed from my 10 year old HP desktop computer and installed it into my new emachine ( Acer ) ET1352G-03W. The modem is updated with the current drivers as shown in device manager but I don't know if that is enough. If you think the modem is the problem what modem should I buy? Oct 16, 2012As reported elsewhere, I had some issues with my Win 7 installation which involved more fiddling than needed but most everything is working again. Why more than needed? In the list of possible solutions, I was given the one that fixed the big problem last. C'est la vie. Now, I get to fiddle with fixing little problems. The latest is that Windows Fax and Scan are no longer workingI have a modem in my computer solely for when I send faxes. With the way that they keep eliminating slots on motherboards, I don't know what I'll do when I upgrade but that's neither here nor there. Back to the story.
A couple weeks ago, I sent a fax without any issues. Today, I needed to send one and Window Fax and Scan couldn't find the modem. When I click on "Connect to a fax modem" I get "an error occured. Please try the operation later."I opened a console and sent some AT commands to the modem and it responded. Off hook, on hook, dial. It is set as COM 3. I do have a Bluetooth dongle that is COM 6.Before Win 7, I used WinFax Pro. I had been using WinFax for years and years and never had a problem. However, WinFax Pro doesn't work with Win 7. One last question. When I started up WFS, it no longer shows my previously sent faxes. Where are those hidden?

I just installed an external modem to send faxes using the Windows Fax & Scan program, which BTW worked fine when I typed a document and faxed it. If I try to use the Scan feature instead, I get an error window telling me that no scanner was detected and to check my connections. My scanner, which is a Canon 8400F with the Windows 7 64-Bit drivers, works fine on it's own. I am having no luck making it function with the Windows Fax & Scan program.
