May 18, 2011After the IE9 install and a restart the Windows Scan and Fax program is no where to be found. It'snot in the programs list or in the windows turn on or off list.

Mar 8, 2010Hardware Canonscan LiDE 600F / Windows 7 x64 Pro?I have tried to install "LiDE 600F Scanner Driver Ver. 12.1.2 (Windows 7 x64/Vista64/XP x64)" lide600fvst641212ea15.exe (version:12.1.2 Size:12.19MB Posted:10/19/2009). But although it SAYS that it has installed correctly, TWAIN does not fire up and I am unable to use the scanner. It also makes a weird noise through the computer's loud speaker going "dee-dum" every 2 seconds.(Fwiw, the sound is like two low-ish frequency guitar strings being plucked, about 1 octave apart).Also in the Control Panel unders System the scanner dialogue is disappearing and refreshing every 2 seconds as well.It sounds to me like something is rejecting the driver, but not showing any error message to screen.- Is there any way to (permanently) "give permission" to the driver to run?

Mar 27, 2011I have recently bought a samsung rv511 s01 laptop. Last night I had an issue when I opened the web browser. All I got was a blank white screen. When I opened Norton internet security it didn't open correctly. With not being used to windows 7 and only using it for about a week I thought the best thing to do would be use the recovery disk that came with the laptop. I thought it would just reset the computer to an earlier day, not so. It did a full install of windows 7, now I have no access to the internet, webcam, or any of the functions that were on the computer before hand. The recovery disk doesn't have the drivers for any of the hardware on it. All the pre installed software has vanished also. So the question is where do I go now to get the machine back to the way it was when I bought it?

Deleted Files From Other Hard Disk In Recycle Bin Is Lost After Install Fresh Windows 7
May 19, 2012Yesterday, I just reinstall fresh windows 7. After I install the OS, I just realize that my recycle bin is empty. Before I installed windows 7, some of my deleted files on my other hard disk is there. But now, I could not find it anymore. After that, I tried to select show hidden folder, files, and drives and unsellect hide protected operating system files on folder options. I try to browse to one of my hard disk, which has the deleted files on recycle bin before, then I found it the recycle bin icon there as well (For instance, the path of the drive is: N:$RECYCLE.BIN). I tried to look at the properties, and I found that the missing size of the deleted files was on there. The problem is I cannot access it. When I tried to open the recycle bin, it just empty. I need some help with this. How do I retrieve the files again to the OS recycle bin, not the hard disk recycle bin? Is it possible to access it again? I really need those files back.

Sep 15, 2009I have lost the ability to dual boot after installing windows XP.
I Originally had windows XP. I partitioned the drive in order to install windows 7. Installed windows 7 fine, no problems, was able to dual boot. After getting data from XP partition. I decided to do a clean install of xp. After doing that my machine only boots into XP, I no longer have the dual boot option.
I have tried booting off the windows 7 dvd and 'repair computer'. It said it found some problems and fixed them. Rebooted, still only booted into XP. Tried booting off DVD again ran 'Startup Repair option' Again, said it fixed some things, still only boots into XP.
I also tried EasyBCD and it said it fixed the problems, but everything is still the same. I can only boot into windows xp. No dual boot.
My boot.ini, ntldr and ntdetect are all on partition that has windows 7 installed.
Saw the posts about Vistabootpro but wanted to make sure i went that route before i purchased it and wanted to make sure of the correct steps to follow.
Lost Dual Boot With Vista After Win7 Install
Jun 3, 2009I just installed windows 7 ultimate on my pc.
i already had xp32 and vista 64 business on a dual boot on the same HDD before installing windows 7.
during windows 7 install, I selected the xp32 partition, formatted it and installed windows 7 over the top as I no longer wanted xp32.
When the windows 7 install was complete I expected to see a dual boot screen with
option 1. windows 7
and option 2. vista64
unfortunatelty i have no dual boot options, the pc now just goes straight into windows 7. It doesnt sem to know that vista is there.
i would appreciate assistance in getting a dual boot set up with vista64 and windows 7
Lost HP Touch-smart LOGO Since Lost Re-setted BIOS
Jul 15, 2012I have a HP Touchsmart 300-1060a (Home Premium Windows 7 64 BIT) which I bought few years back. Now for the last 6 months or so I started getting issues with my machine was not displaying anything at all after turning it on. So I had to hard reset my power from the machine and then was able to see it started displaying again.At first I suspected graphic card (NVIDIA GEFORCE) but then I did my diagnostic test and nothing was found.One day, I started re-imaging my machine as a fresh and then after this it never came back ONLINE. I read all HP forums & even HP Online support was unable to help me to find the cause.Because when I turn on my machine I can see the power light was on and could hear big fan noise but mo HDD activity at all.So at this stage, I suspected either motherboard or BIOS but wasn't 100% sure what could be the real cause because I was sure it was not due to graphic card.So first I re-setted by my BIOS to see if it helps but it didn't came up at all. So then I took my machine to a Computer repair shop (a friend of mine) and we detected it could be due to the regulator which supplies power to the CPU and motherboard.So we replaced that part and now my HP Touchsmart is running fin since then.But I have lost my HP Startup logo with options such as below: [code]

It's like whenever i try to click check for updates button it's like something is blocking it from connecting and scanning is the best way I can explain it. I desperately need help to update all my software and security patches etc

Jan 28, 2011I'm running Windows 7 and have activated the Windows Fax & Scan software. The modem Verizon USB760 is our fax modem. When the software was initially activated, outgoing faxes were sent fine. Recently, it's stopped working completely. Only the coverpage is sent, the fax job fails and retries as many times as I have it configured or until I delete the fax job. I've tried typing directly into the section for page 2 of the fax, and I've tried attaching pdf or txt files with the same incomplete result. I can view the complete fax in the outbound box.

The way they use faxing is by finding the file (usually an Adobe Acrobat pdf), open it and then go to the Fax printer.This then auto faxes the document using Windows Fax and Scan.For most of our employees, this works fine.But, suddenly for some it does not work. When I visit the ones who can't fax, I open Windows Fax and Scan and try to launch it. It does not launch. On some of the computers, the user gets a message that the format must be tif. For others, they get a message saying that they can not access to the document folder.I'd like to remove Windows Fax and Scan on these computers and try to reinstall it and see what happens. Sep 13, 2011I can't complete a fax in windows fax and scan it will send maybe 2 pages of a 4 page fax and then shut down with a fatal error message. I'm running windows 7/64 bit and using an older Agere V.92 ver. 8.36 internal modem that I removed from my 10 year old HP desktop computer and installed it into my new emachine ( Acer ) ET1352G-03W. The modem is updated with the current drivers as shown in device manager but I don't know if that is enough. If you think the modem is the problem what modem should I buy? Oct 16, 2012As reported elsewhere, I had some issues with my Win 7 installation which involved more fiddling than needed but most everything is working again. Why more than needed? In the list of possible solutions, I was given the one that fixed the big problem last. C'est la vie. Now, I get to fiddle with fixing little problems. The latest is that Windows Fax and Scan are no longer workingI have a modem in my computer solely for when I send faxes. With the way that they keep eliminating slots on motherboards, I don't know what I'll do when I upgrade but that's neither here nor there. Back to the story.
A couple weeks ago, I sent a fax without any issues. Today, I needed to send one and Window Fax and Scan couldn't find the modem. When I click on "Connect to a fax modem" I get "an error occured. Please try the operation later."I opened a console and sent some AT commands to the modem and it responded. Off hook, on hook, dial. It is set as COM 3. I do have a Bluetooth dongle that is COM 6.Before Win 7, I used WinFax Pro. I had been using WinFax for years and years and never had a problem. However, WinFax Pro doesn't work with Win 7. One last question. When I started up WFS, it no longer shows my previously sent faxes. Where are those hidden?

I just installed an external modem to send faxes using the Windows Fax & Scan program, which BTW worked fine when I typed a document and faxed it. If I try to use the Scan feature instead, I get an error window telling me that no scanner was detected and to check my connections. My scanner, which is a Canon 8400F with the Windows 7 64-Bit drivers, works fine on it's own. I am having no luck making it function with the Windows Fax & Scan program.
