Canon-scan LiDE 600F / Windows 7 64bit Pro (v6.1 Bld 7600) - Fails To Install Correctly
Mar 8, 2010
Hardware Canonscan LiDE 600F / Windows 7 x64 Pro?I have tried to install "LiDE 600F Scanner Driver Ver. 12.1.2 (Windows 7 x64/Vista64/XP x64)" lide600fvst641212ea15.exe (version:12.1.2 Size:12.19MB Posted:10/19/2009). But although it SAYS that it has installed correctly, TWAIN does not fire up and I am unable to use the scanner. It also makes a weird noise through the computer's loud speaker going "dee-dum" every 2 seconds.(Fwiw, the sound is like two low-ish frequency guitar strings being plucked, about 1 octave apart). Also in the Control Panel unders System the scanner dialogue is disappearing and refreshing every 2 seconds as well.It sounds to me like something is rejecting the driver, but not showing any error message to screen.- Is there any way to (permanently) "give permission" to the driver to run?
My Canon LiDE 600F scanner is failing to install on Windows 7 (64bit) (version 6.1 build 7600).
This scanner works fine on WindowsXP, however.
I spoke Canon about this and they obviously get this complaint all the time and they say that their drivers (which they have failed to up date ) work "just fine" and that it is a problem with Windows 7 itself and that I need to speak to Microsoft (!)
Upgraded desktop to 64-bit and discovered that my Canon LiDe80 and Canon PIXMA iP4000 drivers are incompatible. So after some research and not sure how accurate, I read that the professional version would allow more of the 32-bit drivers to work.
I am performing a clean install of Windows 7 64bit Home Premium with SP1 integrated on a Dell Studio XPS 8100, and after the first reboot during installation, I get a message "Windows could not configure one or more system components. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation." This is a 64 bit machine. Was running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate until yesterday.
Tried partitioning/cleaning/wiping the drives in so many ways I couldn't even count, including "clean all" from repair disk, booting to ubuntu live cd and making sure no rogue filesystems/partitions exist, letting windows installer create partitions, precreating the partitions in diskpart/ubuntu. Have tried several iso's and several cd's/usb drives.
Messed with some bios settings, but to no avail, and made sure my bios was up to date. Downloaded drivers from dell and loaded chipset drivers pre-installation just in case. Have removed all extraneous devices from system excepting the keyboard, mouse, HD, CD-drive, and video card. The 32bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium installed completely fine, with no issues whatsoever, even without pre-loading the chipset drivers.

I have a computer with Windows 7 x64 installed and a Canoscan LiDE 100 from Canon, which has drivers dated from 2008 that work fine. The scan works without a problem.
However, the actual Canon software doesn't seem to work with it. Here is the link to it: Canon U.S.A. : Support & Drivers : CanoScan LiDE100,The software is: MP Navigator Ex and Solution Menu.I downloaded the Windows 7 x64 version.
The problem is that, whenever I start MP Navigator, Windows just tells me that it stopped working. I already tried compatibility mode with Windows XP SP3 and Administrator rights.Am I missing something? Am I the only one with this problem too?
My canon scanner canoscan lide 100 does not even respond to the computer. No matter what i do, it remains "cold". I bought it a few months ago.. and updated the driver software recently. But, still no result. My os is Windows 7 [64 bit]

The scan function of my Cannon MX330 under Windows 7 is not reconized.I have installed several times the driver for Windows 7 (64 bits) from the Cannon website without any results.
I have canoscan lide 20/lide30 which will not connect to my windows 7 it ran ok in windows xp i got a message come up in windows 7 saying i needed some new drivers
