Dec 14, 2012My operating system is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I recently bought a new laptop (not a Dell) and so wanted to link this up and synchronize it with my Dell 305w all in one Wireless printer so it prints and scans wirelessly. I put in the CD that came with the printer and I downloaded the most recent driver (or so I thought). Anyway, after all that was done it prints wirelessly no problem. The trouble came when I wanted to scan a document from the Dell Imaging Toolbox. On my old laptop (that is a Dell) and my daughter's laptop (that is a Samsung,) this works wirelessly no problem at all from the Dell Imaging Toolbox.
On this new laptop, it doesn't scan wirelessly although it does print wirelessly. Every time I tried, first a message came up giving me a choice of two printers to use yet only one is showing in Devices and Printers in the control panel. So I chose one. (This message never came up before on my other laptop and I never had a choice). After choosing one, I then chose 'scan' and then 'start' from the Dell Imaging Toolbox. This then brought up another message that was titled, 'Network Scan.' 'For best results when scanning over the network:
- Save all your work.
- Close Dell Imaging Toolbox.
- Press the Scan button on your printer's operator panel.
I need to have it working wirelessly from a remote spot as it did with my previous laptop because I am disabled. How to rectify this scenario? What am I doing that is stopping this from scanning wirelessly? On top of that also related to the printer, every time I boot up the laptop, a message appears saying, 'Microsoft.NET Framework Version 2.0 is required to continue. This software is available for free at - Microsoft website address.' I've gone to the website and downloaded this twice but the error message still keeps coming up every time I boot.

The Case is : I type Net Use LPT1: \printserverp1 in DOS mode, it displays the command completed successfuly. The connection was made when I look at it again by using net use. But when I send a command 'dir/w > lpt1 ' in dos mode, it shows access is denied. It doesn't allow me to send a print job

Jul 11, 2011I have a MacBookPro with OSX 10.6.8 and a Toshiba laptop with Windows 7 to which is connected by USB a Canon MP250 printer. I have been able to network the two computers, meaning I am able to create a file on the Mac and save it on the Toshiba and vice-versa. But I am unable to print a document from the Mac on the Canon printer which is connected to the Windows laptop. I think I correctly followed instructions here.

Jul 8, 2012I'm running windows 7 professional 32bit, Virgin broadband so i have their free virus and spyware program, virgin media security (old PCGuard) .
Recently when i perform a virus scan it has started to hang up when it reached the C: / Windows / temp / tmp00002b12c folder. So because it was hanging i decided to empty the temp folder.
All items went to the C:recycle.bin, then i performed the virus scan again, this time it now hangs on the same particular folder when scanning the C: / recycle.bin
So i emptied the recycle bin and even now it still hangs on the same folder and is unable to complete the virus scan, the virus scan stops dead as soon as it reaches this point, just hangs there until i force close the anti virus software.
I have read and digested a lot of information explaining that the files do not get deleted, only the index to the file when emptying the recycle bin, but i can not seem to find a way to solve my problem, how do i get access to this file that exists on my drive to clear it to allow me to complete a virus scan??

Jan 15, 2013My laptop has suddenly seized up and I think it might be to do with a security conflict - Norton security scan appears to now be on my laptop through, I think, some vigorous pop-ups which must have got past me. I've just installed - reinstalled - AVG 2013 (no idea why I lost it in the first place) so feel reasonably protected and want to try to get rid of Norton Security Scan to see if that unblocks the slowness. But it won't uninstall, claiming always to be running.

Everything was going fine with setting up until it came to printers.I have 3 printers connected - Brother HL2030 laser, HP Photosmart D6160 and Epson Stylus photo R2400 - and NONE of them will work. All three came up with "your device is installed correctly etc etc" message. I can't print documents or even a test page. I've downloaded and installed Brother's W7 driver - zilch. HP site says you lose most of the functionality of toollbox etc but "the windows 7 default driver should work" - it doesn't. Likewise the Epson. Nov 25, 2009I am an avide genealogist and use Ancestry and Find my Past as research sites, I have been using these sites for a number of years and been able to print from these sites certificates etc that I have found in my research. Of late I have experienced an anoying problem in that I cannot print these any more from the screen shot, if I save the screen as a file to a folder I am able to open the files and print from the file.
I know that both these sites use Djview as a viewer for viewing the files from their sites, but if I can view them surely I should be able to print.

Am running IE8, However can print from library.Have tried disabling firewall and altering Internet options settings. Jun 29, 2009I have recently installed Windows 7 , and can not print to my Epson Stylus photo R220.
The printer was not in the default list of printers, so I got the driver fro the Epson website ( used the Vista driver ). It appears to install correctly on port LPT1, and the printer then appears in the devices and printers window, but if I try a test print , nothing happens, If I try to print a text document I get an error message saying that the printer is not configured correctly !
Any ideas ?
Unable To Print Out Of Browser - Printer Not Installed
Mar 29, 2012Printing's been working fine up until about a week ago. Suddenly I'm unable to print out of chrome. Whenever I try to print I get an error that says "Printer not Installed" in the browser. I disable the "print preview" chrome has recently implemented but that doesn't work. I reinstall Chrome to no avail. I try to print in Firefox and get a different error... "An Error Occurred while Printing." I do some research and then realize I can't print out of Acrobat Pro. My print settings dialog in Acrobat is unlike any I've ever seen and no options work. I can't change the paper size or access the printer settings from the Acrobat Print Dialog.
Steps I've taken so far:
Reinstalled the printer
Restarted Print Spooler
Deleted the Port
Reinstalled Printer again with new drivers
Successfully Printed Test Pages after each of these steps. Still could not print out of other programs.
Successfully Printed out of MS Word
I logged in under a different user and was able to print out of firefox.
