i have an hp touchsmart tm2 tablet with an intel i3 processor. i started having problems after a windows update. at first it was freezing often, then once in a while it said it wasn't an authentic version of windows (but it is), then on random occasions it was telling me i had hard drive problems. Then it started freezing completely after 2 minutes of use, and now it won't even get passed the windows startup screen.Every time i start a scan of any sort it gives me the "scan failed" message, restarts and gets stuck again.
When I turn on the laptop (Dell Inspiron) it gets to the Resuming Windows screen then goes to a blank screen and then hangs forever.
There is just a blank black screen and the mouse cursor. I can move the mouse cursor but there is nothing to click on. F8 does't seem to take me into safe mode or anything like that.
I can get into bios and boot menu before it gets to the Resuming Windows screen but don't know what to do there.
M/c starts with a nice blue screen with left and right icons and mouse cursor all operatig .It will go no further.
when this first occured it went into Repair mode twice - said it could not fix and pointed to System32 DriversWDF01000.sys.Subsequent use of Repair now shows no errors.
Booting to Repair from my installation Disk reports eveything as OK.Moved to Restore point - section shows only one point of todays date -which apparantly was made before an automatic update - ran OK.
I have run SFCscannow but cannot interpret it. - sent to rapiddatashare -lost the ref No. for the moment.

My computer is running normally but without the Welcome screen at startupAfter the Windows7 logo the screen goes black and does not show anything (the blue Welcome screen) until it auto login to my desktop.If I create 2 account, I will have to blindly press enter to choose an account to login. But after log off I can see both of them.Normally its fine but if there is some updates, the computer will install the updates under black screen.

I have a desktop, custom built, that has been a nightmare since day one. Anyway, last time I brought it in for repairs they checked the motherboard and RAM- it was all fine, and they replaced my hard drive.For the past month or so, my computer will freeze or hang while I'm in the middle of working on something. I'm a photographer and it usually happens when photoshop is left sitting open for a few minutes. Firefox will freeze and so will PS and Bridge.When it freezes, nothing works. Ctrl+alt+delete will work to open the task manager, but it won't actually end any tasks when I try. I am forced to hold the power button down to shut it off. About 3 days ago I got a message upon start up saying that I needed to check disk but immediately said that it couldn't check disk due to a corruption? Stating that a recently installed software was the problem and I needed to do a system restore. I tried to do a system restore to before I installed my machforms update and it wouldn't let me! Stated that the c drive is corrupt and I need to do a check disk. So it's sending me in a circle and I can't complete either. Today, when I booted I received a lovely grey screen. This happened about 7 times before it booted normally. I tried to boot in safe mode but it froze.
Start computer from sleep, log into Teamspeak 3, open Play with Six and launch ArmA 2 OA ACE mod an play. But today, my computer screen freezed and I couldn't do anything except move my mouse. After doing a hard restart of my computer and getting an error(batch file f:dosmenu. BAT missing) and doing another restart and then I got a BSOD. Okay, so I woke up my computer from sleep mode yesterday, and it worked perfectly fine for all of five minutes before everything except my cursor froze. I waited for it to unfreeze or give me a "not responding" message for about twenty minutes, but when it didn't, I manually shut it down by pressing the power button, since I couldn't get to the start menu. But when I turned it back on, an error message appeared. I don't remember exactly what it said, but it gave me the option to either: "Launch startup repair (reccomended)" or "Start Windows normally". So I chose to launch the startup repair since it said that it would fix anything that had caused my computer to stop working, but it's been "searching for problems" for about five hours now! The blue bar just keeps scrolling past, but other than that, nothing's happening. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or should I call someone to check it out? Will I lose my files? I tried to "Start Windows normally" as well, but nothing happened at all... Oh, and it's an Acer laptop with Windows 7 on it
Recently my desktop has started having issues. I purchased it new in january and within this last month when I start it, it gets stuck in the startup screen. When I try to do startup repair it always is unsuccessful. When I view the details it lists this "problem signature 07: Bad patch" I have tried doing a system restore to every point it lists and it says "the instruction at 0xfba8ca53 referenced memory at 0x06e2f90f. The memory could not be read. Click ok to terminate". When I try to enter safe mode it doesn't work either.
When i do system repair it comes up with a cmd saying im missing files or something i will post pics if needed.I tried running a program that SIW2 gave to me with the cd and idk what to do.
I recently sold a hard drive and wanted to use the Windows 7 installation CD to format it. I booted from the CD-ROM, it booted all the appropriate files and I proceeded to a custom install where I can add/remove partitions/format etc.
The drive I was formatting was a secondary, please remember that.
Anyways I did my business, took the CD out and booted from the main drive but now it keeps asking me for the boot CD to install Windows because it is referencing the files from the above task. My main drive has Windows 7 on it.
I can't get around it, I tried to go into the CD and run a repair .
How the heck can I get past this and back to my Windows 7!
As of about 3 days ago my Dell Inspiron N7010 (Windows 7 Home Prem 64bit) fails to boot up. It gets to the initial Windows screen before the login screen and freezes, then sends me into Startup Repair. [code] I've tried running the diagnostics and get no error codes. I'm using I have a DELL4500S desktop, on startup it will not go to the login screen, the screen is just black with the cursor showing. I've tried restarting the computer, unplugging everything and restarting it. Nothing is working. When it first starts a pop up shows and says "This Application has failed to start because SAMLIB.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem."I'm not sure what it's talking about and what to re install and I can't reinstall whatever it is because I can't get to the start menu.
Everything shows up fine until the welcome screen after that it normally used to fade to the desktop but now it goes blank. The screen in Black with only the mouse pointer. Its not hung, i can move the mouse pointer. Then after a minute or so it advances to the desktop. Everything on the desktop loads up in less than 5s. The PC runs fine, it is really fast as there are only a few programs, but only boots slow. My total boot time is about 3-5 min. I think it should be like in a minute or so.I have not tweaked much with the system but have installed a few programs like MS office, Nero, Acrobat and Photoshop. These are the only heavy programs in the PC right now. The only games on the PC are AC1 and AC2. I have uninstalled my graphic driver and reinstalled. I already minimized the programs in the msconfig>startup to the minimum. I have run ccleaner, spybot s&d, Antimalware and i also have a trial copy of Kaspersky AV (upgrading later to 1-year license). there are no peripherals attached during boot except the USB keyboard and mouse. A printer is attached too but is most of the time turned off.

Windows 7 desktop can not load after welcome screen appears just a black screen come and stuck a white mouse pointer works but nothing else.safe mode works and last known good configuration works whenever i start in above mentioned mode it works and then i had repaired win. 7 startup and chkdsk perform on c drive. then restart the system and it start properly as it worked. But after a day i start same problem came again.
I have a problem, a small 1 i hope: i can' t seem to login normally into windows, i end up getting stuck at a blinking login screen with the message "please wait". When i try booting through safe mode it is successful. I have no restore point to fall back 2. All i did was uninstall a windows clear theme, prior to this event i could not install any .themepack file as it ends up displaying "could not find the msstyles folder". Is there a way around this predicament of mine or do i have 2 format my hard disk?
Out of the blue this morning my comp wont start up, W7 blue screens before the login screen appears and instantly reboots. No new hardware has been added. Here is what I have tried.
Change graphics card. Change RAM. Memory diagnostic. System repair. Safe mode (works). LKGC. Uninstall AVS video converter (only new software installed yesterday). Uninstall Daemon Tools. System repair from Windows DVD (fails - incompatible version).
All I'm left with is a format and reinstall if I cant solve this - safe mode works fine so it must be fixable!

If you see an entry called "DelayedDesktopSwitchTimeout" on the right-hand side of the folder, move on to the next step. Otherwise, you need to create the entry. To do that, right-click on a free space in the folder, and select "New/DWORD (32-bit) Value". Type in "DelayedDesktopSwitchTimeout", and press "Return". 4. Double-click on the entry. Now all you need to do is to enter the number 5, and click "OK".
I've been facing this issue for the past month now. thing is sometimes after a cold boot, a screen appears which gives two options 1. repair windows 2. start windows normally.
the first time this screen appeared i chose repair option and system hanged after 4 or 5 minutes, i used the power button to shut it down. Since then whenever this screen appeared i always chose normal start up. if its ok to choose normal startup or should i go with the reapir option and if the system freezes what should i do?
I am building a computer for my parents and, after reaching the "starting windows" screen and the logo popping up, it hangs. I got win7 like a month ago and it was going pretty well. Just last week i got a new second monitor a 22 in dell and it was fine i ran dual monitors before with a 19 in with no problems. Now is when things started to go downhill. I was just surfing the web one day and suddenly my screens went black. I was like wtf for like 5 seconds then everything reappeared with a windows error box saying windows has just recovered from a Nvidia driver failure. I was like ok... i thought nothing of it but the next day when i turned on my computer i got a screen with red lines through it everything loads until it gets to the windows icon and then, boom blue screen of death. I then tried every single repair windows option. with nothing working. Even put in my old hdd witch has windows xp. still blue screen of death. Now i know you may be wondering why i did not try safe mode. See i have some unsigned drivers for my ipod on my pc so I have to click f8 at start up to chose disable driver reinforcement. If I do not my mouse and keyboard do not work. I can only run one f8 command so if i chose safe mode i will not be able to use any mice or keyboards.
I currently have only 1 user on my system which is myself & it does not have a password, until recently it booted to desktop without any problems & then out of the blue, which I think after a bunch of windows updates I am now presented with the user select screen which I have to click to load into the desktop. How can I disable this as I have looked at the user controls & everything else I could remember to check & every time I reboot or boot up it goes to the user login screen which I only need to click because I don't use a password.
Whenever I boot Windows 7, after it starts, instead of showing the login screen, it show a black screen with a movable cursor. Now, I can go into safe mode, and it works, but, hell, I can even put my password on that black screen, press enter and it will go into Windows and work just fine. But the thing is, it's supposed to show the login screen, not just a black one, so I'm a bit worried of what might be causing the problem, and whether or not it could expand into something worse.
