i changed the hard disk to ma laptop, and this hard disk was working perfectli fine before inserting it on this laptop, and after installing windows 7, then there is this message that says windows detected a hard disk problem that alws pops up. wht cud be de problem coz this disk ws veri good while on anther laptop?

I have windows and a data partition on the first drive (as C and D) and an extra data partition on the 2nd drive (as E).What I have found is that when I start the machine, the two drives seem to be randomly allocated as disk 0 or disk 1, it is not fixed. When I look at the bios, Sata drive 1 (C & D) is always the first drive and Sata drive 2 (E) is always the second drive (although I then need to reboot after checking the bios, so I can't rule out something strange going on in the bios?)

I have IOmega 1 TB hard drive. 2 days ago, my comp restarted suddenly after which my external drive is corrupted.I get the error 'H: is not accessble' The disk structure is corrupted and unreadable.It shows up in the disk management as RAW file system,I have almost 700 GB of important documents, pictures & files that I don't want to lose.Does anybody know of any good recovery software that can help.

I decided to reformat the hard drive, as I do not have the original xp discs, I bought windows 7 (the full version, not upgrade). While trying to install windows 7 and subsequently reformat the hard drive, the installation program can not detect any hard disk whatsoever.
Another problem is that the virus has corrupted my computer to the point where I cannot even load xp. All my computer is currently good for is watching it try to load.
Do I need to format my hard disk before installing Windows 7?
