Okay so I just installed the Windows 8 developer preview and with this I noticed my video card driver had changed to this:
And the problem is that this doesn't let me play Open GL stuff, and I don't have a clue on what my video card driver was before that (Don't know how to find it) or change to another video card driver
So each time I start up my computer, my mouse, keyboard, and headphones getrecognized. My mouse is the only device of those 3 to use usb. My blue snowball microphone and my hawking directional antenna don't get recognized until I unplug them and plug them back in. It take 2-4 times of unplugging and plugging in for it to recognize my snowball.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSmallish yet irritating problem with my Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit install - Autoplay doesn't work, and hasn't since I was forced to reinstall a couple of weeks back.Doesn't work for discs inserted, USB flash drives, memory cards, external HDDs plugged in etc (Firewire & ExpressCard/34 not tested). I have of course gone to the Autoplay settings and restored defaults, also tried setting every category (DVD, CD, etc) at "Ask me every time". No luck. I was working fine on the same OS before before I had to reinstall fresh, also on x86 version of Win 7, and on Vista.Nothing wrong with the USB ports/disc drive, inserted media is still detected.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I pop a DVD in my drive I use WMP 12 to play it and 2 interfaces of WMP 12 open to play it. One has the menu of the DVD on it and it's maximized ready to go and one is just WMP 12 minimized. The minimized one fades out, but that's not the issuue. Why do 2 of them open in the first place? Is it something to do with the fact that WMP 12 has both a 32 bit and a X64 when you're running Windows 7 HP x64? I do have the 32 bit as default with the Windows 7 codec package by Shark.

I was able to recover it but now I cannot open it or play it. I have tried programs that fix .wmv files and different recover programs and I have even tried recovering tthe file to a different drive.

Now when I try to open devices and printers I just get the green bar at the top and nothing shows up.On a side note (I assume it is related) at the same time the printer issue showed up I noticed that I can't get Word to open at all and when I go to page layout in Excel, Excel locks up.I have tried a clean boot and everything behaves the same. I have tried using Fix it for printer problems and the program seems to get stuck when checking for spooler errors.I have also done a search and found the posts about restarting the Blutooth services.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I open anything from microsoft office 2003, that can be outlook, that can be a word document, that can be a powerpoint presentation or an excel sheet, my windows 7 taskbar and the computer in general slow down considerably, but expecially the taskbar lags for at least 3 seconds whatever I do (like moving the pointer over several icons so that the aero-thingy shows up takes 5 seconds to pop up the little windows or opening a new explorer window). So when did it all start? At first everything was fine, office 2003 was running fine with w7x64, then I installed the cisco system vpn client (64bit of course) because i need it for university. After that the problem occured and I haven't been able to make it go away since then.
1. I uninstalled the vpn client -> no changes
2. I uninstalled office 2003 and reinstalled -> no changes
3. Office is updated with the latest patch -> no changes
4. I tried to turn of aero (who knows?) -> no changes
System in general:
CPU: Core i7 920

PSU: Enermax modu 82+ 625w
Graphic: Geforce gtx 260

I have a problem running Patran 2007 in Windows 7, the program seems to run fine, and I am able to open data bases and work on them. The problem comes in when I want to either save the database, open a new database or just open a current database. For each of these functions a new smaller window pops up so I can navigate to the correct file or path to click on it or whatever.
Initially the window opens as I would expect, but as soon as I move the mouse or try to use the keyboard to navigate, the window goes blank and I can do nothing with it. Strangely, using the compatibility setting to open the program in a 640x480 display, they do seem to work fine, but because of the small resolution, I cannot actually see the part of the window where the files are - so that also doesn't help me.
It seems as though there is something between Patran and Windows that one of them don't like, but it baffles me that everything else works fine. If any one else has had the same problem, maybe with a different program even, let me know what you did to resolve it. Otherwise any advise would be useful.
