Windows 7 Gets Stuck After Installing Restart @ Finishing Installation?
May 12, 2012
System Specifics:
Every part of the computer is completely new.Its a selfconfigured system...
Processor: AMD FX-8120 3,1GHz
Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-970-UD3 (BIOS F4)
RAM: DDR3 2x4GB 1600MHz
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 TI 1GB
SSD: 120GB SATA 6Gb/s
DVD: SATA Liteone iHas122
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
So basically my problem is what is stated in the topic already.Windows loads the data off of the ORIGINAL (purchased it today) DVD, extracting files etc. Then after the Computer restarts and loads, the installation process comes back up again, and shows the "moving dots" behind "Finishing Installation Process" for about 10-15 seconds, then they freeze... i left it for 2 hours. Nothing happened.I tried unplugging everything during the reset, after another try to install it. It freezes.I tried the "Shift+F10" --> explorer.exe . It freezes.I tried a downloaded copy of Windows 7 Prof.... same thing, it freezes.I tried 3 different Sata2 HDDrives, same thing it freezes.
I did a clean install of Windows 7 64bit Enterprise Edition. Downloaded the IE9 offline installer i.e. IE9-Windows7-x64-enu.exe but was never able to install it. The error is:"Internet Explorer did not finish installing. For more information, see the Internet Explorer Troubleshooter. This link is also on your desktop for later reference." The OS came with IE8 as default, the interesting thing is that when I go to Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features on or off, I see IE9 there not IE8 ! As I said I was never able to install IE9. Things I tried:-Removed IE8 from Turn Windows Features on or off, rebooted, tried installing IE9 cleanly-Tried in Safe Mode with and without networking-Turned AV/firewall off-Run in CMD sfc /scannow-Tried Windows Update, but it never comes up as an update-Checked Programs and Features > View Installed Updates, not there also-Run the Windows Install Cleanup Tool-Tried installing using Windows Clean boot-Run Windows Update Readiness Tool from MS but found no errors
I recently build myself a gaming computer the specs are as follows: i5 3570k 16GB G.Skill 1600 Mhz ASRock Extreme4 Evga 750 Watt PSU Asus GTX 670 2GB
After I Installed all of the drivers for everything but the graphics card it was finally time for that and as soon as I downloaded the newest drivers from Nvidia and restarted my computer I immediately got into a reboot loop and any time I've tried going into safe mode to delete the drivers my computer restarts. On top of all of that there are these red vertical lines all over my monitor.
I installed an ocz vertex 4 ssd (256g model) into my msi gt70 laptop. A product key came with the laptop, and I've burned windows 7 to a disc. I made sure the ssd has priority in the BIOS too.
When I start up the installation, it gets to the "Installing updates" step, but doesn't progress any further, the laptop is effectively frozen on that step. I've tried re-installing a couple times now and it continues to get stuck on "Installing updates".
Do I need an active internet connection for this step by any chance?
So, my computer is stuck in a restart loop. every now and then I see a screen with option to start windows normally or safe mode, but it loops faster then I can hit enter. being a comp guy and knowing enough about comps, tried to load Windows 7 install disk as well as Ubuntu Live Disk.. No luck, loops before they can load. Tried disconnecting everything except CPU, Graphic Card, HDD(3 different), and RAM (1 and all sticks).. No luck there either.
I'm trying to install Win7 on my PC. I'm getting a black screen right before the language screen is suppose to be shown. This is happen right at the beginning : the white installation line is running in the bottom of the screen and then a Windows logo appear, right after that suppose to be the small window with the language selection, but instead , I see a black screen.
I CHANGED the cd's for couple of times, this is not the cd. I also copied the image to a flash drive and tried to install from there - Stuck exactly at the same phase.

Right, straight to the point. I've recently been given a few parts of computer from my friends that has now been assembled into a working desktop.I've got Windows 7 saved as a .iso file on a usb-hdd. I manage to get it working up to the point where i click "Install Now" on the Windows 7 installer programme, then after a couple mins of loading once clicked it comes up with this message."A required CD/DVD drive device is missing. if you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step."There are 3 options that come up with this pop up being "browse" "ok" and "cancel" After clicking "ok" it comes up with another message saying"No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK."
I wanted to install windows 7 on my notebook compaq. When I finish most of the steps. The first windows welcome screen can not load and stops just blue screen.
First, my laptop is a Aspire 5250-BZ853. I received it back in October, I think...may've been earlier. But anyhow, it was working just fine yesterday until I did a Windows Update. I had to restart, and it was fine again. But then it began running sluggishly slow, and just terrible overall so I restarted it once more and that was when the problems began.
This entire day, this has been driving me nuts. I have important files on here, and I backed up most on my external harddrive a bit ago but there were a few I missed and hadn't the chance to get (ironically enough the most important, papers and such.) At first, it said my password was wrong -- as if someone had changed it! I restarted it once more, thinking it an error or something, and did that again so I restarted it again. Finally, it worked but I think it logged me in as safe mode somehow. After that, it restarted on its own and began this loop. I did a LOT of searching on Google until finally someone suggested to someone else to try pressing "ALT + F10" I think it was as it was starting, and finally I made progress. Before that, it was just going into a constant rebooting loop and I couldn't even log into safe mode. Trying to reset it back to a time it was working was futile, because it said there was no recovery time there! So that shot that idea down. At last, I got somewhere.as well. I clicked the reset to factory settings, but still keep all the files (and they would be saved to "C:Backup" and I thought it had finally worked. But now as it reinstalls, I got an error saying something about how it needed to restart or something...so when I clicked "okay" it began again, and finally it all just came to a stop on "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation."
In Windows installation process, After installation files of Windows 7/Vista are copied, laptop can not boot anymore to resume the process. Also this occurred even after the image backup is restored on formatted C:! However, after this the laptop can not boot by any bootable DVD! - it pauses on a black screen with a blinking hyphen.
After C: is recreated and formatted, this process can be repeated!
I repeated this with a new brand HDD; That occured again! I think something wrong with my laptop (hp pavilion dv2000).
windows 7 never finishes loading. sometimes i get the desktop with all icons but the mouse pointer has the loading icon and i can't do a thing. other times i only get the background image and the start bar but again, i can't do a thing. all this started after i had to force-shutdown my laptop after it froze while i was watching a maximized Internet video on firefox 4... what can i do?
I was trying to format my computer, I had installed the OS of Windows 7 Ultimate x32 bit, and decided to take the opportunity to install a new one, but this time of x64 bits, this was my first time formatting my computer but apparently didnt finish good.
1: When first restart the computer to finish installing the OS, it Said That "The intallation of windows could not be completed. To finish installing Windows, restart the installation" 2: I try to do what it say, but when I try to restart the installation with the OS disk in, I get to the same window (not sure if that's what meant by what I just explained). 3: When I turn on my computer says something like: "select the operating system you want to use", and I get the "Windows 7" option twice.
I just found out according to format the computer i had to delete the partition that was the old OS and create a new one, but I cant get to that window, because as explained in section 2 always get the same message from section 1.
Okay so i have this machine, acer m3100, that originally had windows vista. I tried to do a clean install of windows 7, with an original windows 7 installation cd.Everything would go okay until right after the computer restarts and goes to the part of COMPLETING INSTALLATION. At that moment my screen suddenly flashes with the blue screen of death. i wasnt able to right the error that shows up though. Then the computer restarts and goes to setup devices and right after that an error message appears saying, windows did not complete installation, due to an unexpected restart, restart the computer and restart the installation. If i click okay it will go into an endless loop. Restarting one time after another. So i thought i would install windows vista again. Try to make things the way they were before, but i get the same error. i'm only able to install xp. With XP everything works fine. I do want to be able to install windows 7 though.
I am trying to install Windows 7 through USB in my Dell studio 1555 Laptop. Every time it gets stuck at "setup is starting".I have already disabled all other boot options except USB. There is no floppy drive option.I have gone through more or less every post related to this problem , but the common solution that is to remove all the USB, Firewire etc. attachments. It does not work in my case as I am installing from USB.
So I reformatted my computer last night and reinstalled windows on it. It goes through the installing windows etc, then when it reboots it goes to a black screen, then it turns into the windows loading screen and just sits there with the colors above it. I checked the hard disk for errors and there are none. I also used 2 different windows cds and made a new one; none of these are scratched.
I have a HP notebook with Windows 7 Ultimate installed I removed Avira anti virus and after that I installed Avast anti virus. Now the problems start right here, now installing Avast v6 the computer is restarting by it self . Tried Windows 64 b repair options but no solutions.
i got a prob with my Windows 7 after the installation n the first reboot, and Starting Up Services, it comes on Completing Installation screen when it ends, it doesnt reboot, neither turn off, it just stays on black screen for hours. with the computer working, and the mouses`s cursor moving.
Cant remember excactly the PC specs 2,6Ghz Intel CPU Nvidia GeForce 7800 or smthng 512mb 4GB ram 2x120GB WD HDz
I attempted to install Windows 7 x64 RC version on my new desktop, and about 20 minutes into the "Complete Installation" section my computer crashed for a reason of which I'm not aware (I saw a blue screen with writing for about a second or two before my computer restarted). I now get the following error after windows attempts to "start services":
"Install Windows. The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation".
I've now clicked "OK" about 10 times, with my computer restarting properly each time, and the same error pops up every time.
I've just installed windows 7 from dvd over windows XP. Installation went fine and really quick but on the last restart and first starting up of windows 7 screen become black and i cant do anything. The only thing that i see on the screen is flickering bios cursor and only command that respond is ctrl+alt+del. I cant get into my bios at all.
[code] everything is detected with in the bios but the boot device LED stays solid on, I've booted it from a Windows 7 DVD then THE COMPUTER RESTARTS?!? It's only restarted after I've booted from the DVD, sometimes when it's at the language part but always does it when its at the install part right at uncompressing files at 0%.Now I've but about 6 rigs over the years without a problem and it's really getting to me. I've tried most sata settings (IDE & AHCI), different hdds, different sata cables & ports, cleared the CMOS(removed mains power, removed the CMOS battery, moved jumper waited 5min, held down power button, waited 5min, replaced battery, moved jumper back, replace mains power) the mb memOK function gives the RAM the all clear as well as the windows memcheck after 5 passes, everything was seated with a wrist strap, I've checked the ssd with sata to USB interface and my laptop gives it the all clear (oh yeh I chech with a diff HDD) and the mb has the latest firmware, USB flashed.
My windows 7 install stars nfrom beginning after it does restart and now i have 5 windows 7s in boot to choose but none of them works because if setup wants restart my install starts from beginning
When I insert the disc and wait until the CD boots and the files loaded the installation screen appears and is just stuck. The mouse goes off and the keyboard is all so off. My configurations are Core i5 2400, 8GB ram
I was going to going to reinstall windows 7 professional x64 version of windows in my laptop but during installation I got structed at the point where the earlier partitions are to be deleted and new ones are to be made(I got the option from custom install) to give the path for new C:// drive and others. Here is the basic of problem, the installation was taking very long time to delete my earlier partitions(nearly 30 mins.). So I derectly pressed the power button and shut down (while the deletion of earlier C:// drive was going on) my laptop eject the DVD on next boot, but now nothing was appearing after booting. So I again tried to do the same installation but this time the installation was stucked at the windows icon ('Starting Windows' Icon).
My machine has been stuck on installing this update all night. I think my hard drive may be full, what should I do? Been meaning to format that thing and reinstall windows to it since its just a 40 gig SSD.
I just received my new ASUS HD7850-DC-2GD5 video card. I installed it, booted up Windows, and installed the drivers from the included CD. Then I rebooted Windows. However, my system hangs at the 'Starting Windows' screen. Actually, it seems that only the video hangs--because if I type in my password and hit enter, as if I could see the welcome screen, I hear the 'correct' sound that normally plays when I log in. I just can't *see* what's going on.
I reset the system and booted into safe mode, where I entered Device Manager and uninstalled the HD7850 display adapter. Then I rebooted Windows, and again I'm able to operate normally -- but without the AMD Radeon drivers. I've tried downloading the latest drivers from the AMD website, but installing those leads to the same problem. I get stuck at the 'Starting Windows' screen.
This has me totally perplexed... I bought an ASUS-branded card specifically to try and avoid drama, as I also have an ASUS mobo (the P8Z68-VPRO/GEN3). My CPU is an i7 2700k, not currently overclocked at all. My PSU is an XFX PRO850W XXX Edition Semi-Modular 88Plus 850 Watt PSU, which should be up to the task, right?
all I see during install is press any key, then I see a panel saying starting windows, but then the computer just restarts and goes right back to the bios. this is a clean install of windows 7 from the upgrade cd on a 120 gb hd which until recently was working fine with windows xp until I got an error about a system 32 folder being no longer there, so I assumed I had to reformat, but when I tried my windows xp home cd the computer always froze during the installs "searching for previous version of windows", so I purchased a win 7 upgrade cd hoping I could install that, but it just restarts during the install right at the very begining before I even have an option for repair. What do I do?Im typing on my old 2001 computer, and the other computer is unable to repair or fix, so I was just hoping I could install fresh. Although it definetly isn't working.
My lenovo G560 laptop fails to start. Its showing one message. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer. But I don't have disc..
I'm trying to install Windows 7. I've tried a full format and once it saves files and reboots it doesn't continue further it just starts from the beginning again. The HD has come from another PC that was working. Where can I start?
I have a 2.8 Ghz, P4 processor with 768 (512 + 256) MB ram and an Asus p5rd1-vm motherboard with a 128 MB ATI-Radeon Graphics Card.I have been running Windows XP for years. I have decided to upgrade to Windows 7 finally after reading all the reviews. I managed to get windows 7 installed but after i rebooted, "unknown error" appeared on screen. Any ideas why? I have not upgraded my BIOS (bcoz I don't know how to safely do so for my hard disk).
