My windows 7 install stars nfrom beginning after it does restart and now i have 5 windows 7s in boot to choose but none of them works because if setup wants restart my install starts from beginning
View 5 RepliesI just built a new system today, and I have been running into some significant issues whenever I try to reboot. Basically, the system hangs up on the Starting Windows screen at the exact same instance whenever I reboot. This has been happening since I installed Windows 7 64-bit edition. After I booted and installed off of the installation DVD, it froze up on the first restart. I then tried to install Windows again. That worked, but it then again froze on the first reboot. I then had to manually shut down the pc and start it up again. Fortunately, it picked up where I left off and finished the Windows 7 install.After I installed Windows 7, I have had no problems whatsoever expect for when I restart, as the system freezes at the point specified on the image above. However, if I shut down my computer and then start it up, everything loads fine.
Here are my specs:
AMD Phenom II Black Edition dual core 3.2 ghz CPU (all four cores unlocked, overclocked at 3.8 ghz)
HIS Radeon HD 4670 GPU
BIOSTAR T A870+ mobo
Seagate Barracuda SATA 7,200 RPM 1TB HD
4 gigs G.SKILL DDR3 240-pin RAM

Now the problems start right here, now installing Avast v6 the computer is restarting by it self . Tried Windows 64 b repair options but no solutions.

Installation went fine and really quick but on the last restart and first starting up of windows 7 screen become black and i cant do anything. The only thing that i see on the screen is flickering bios cursor and only command that respond is ctrl+alt+del. I cant get into my bios at all.
View 1 Replies View Related[code] everything is detected with in the bios but the boot device LED stays solid on, I've booted it from a Windows 7 DVD then THE COMPUTER RESTARTS?!? It's only restarted after I've booted from the DVD, sometimes when it's at the language part but always does it when its at the install part right at uncompressing files at 0%.Now I've but about 6 rigs over the years without a problem and it's really getting to me. I've tried most sata settings (IDE & AHCI), different hdds, different sata cables & ports, cleared the CMOS(removed mains power, removed the CMOS battery, moved jumper waited 5min, held down power button, waited 5min, replaced battery, moved jumper back, replace mains power) the mb memOK function gives the RAM the all clear as well as the windows memcheck after 5 passes, everything was seated with a wrist strap, I've checked the ssd with sata to USB interface and my laptop gives it the all clear (oh yeh I chech with a diff HDD) and the mb has the latest firmware, USB flashed.

So basically my problem is what is stated in the topic already.Windows loads the data off of the ORIGINAL (purchased it today) DVD, extracting files etc.Then after the Computer restarts and loads, the installation process comes back up again, and shows the "moving dots" behind "Finishing Installation Process" for about 10-15 seconds, then they freeze... i left it for 2 hours. Nothing happened.I tried unplugging everything during the reset, after another try to install it. It freezes.I tried the "Shift+F10" --> explorer.exe . It freezes.I tried a downloaded copy of Windows 7 Prof.... same thing, it freezes.I tried 3 different Sata2 HDDrives, same thing it freezes.
when i type g i get gr, when i type h=hu etc. When i delete a letter the arrow goes to the very beginning
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have set the TV recorder defaults to start recording 15 mins early and still, the recordings are beginning late!As a result I miss half of the show and have to delete it.It seems as though the time for the shows are wrong from the guide data e.g. it will say X show starts a 8.06pm instead of 8pm.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've read a bunch of posts of this happening to people too but it doesn't seem like there was a permanent solution to any of them. I just installed windows 7 on a dell dimension 3000 and im using the onboard video. Everytime i reboot it wants to automatically install the "Standard VGA Display Driver" even though I uninstall it and install the Intel Display Driver that works much better and actually plays movies.
I even moved the display.inf out of the windows folder but now when i restart it still trys to install another driver over the one i have and just says that it cant find the driver for the device. And since I cant install the drivers then plug the device in, i'm kind of stuck in a rut right now. Any suggestions?
I'm still 3 days old to Windows 7 and i had this problem.
I installed the latest driver for Windows 7 for my display card ATI HD3870 and downloaded the driver from the official website.
My problem is, after installing the driver.
The installer didn't prompt me to restart the computer.
But since my notification area didn't appear any of ATI icon so i restart it.
But yet after restarting my pc i still don't see any icon and i went to check program files and i saw ati technologies but inside it i don't see a single item.
It's an empty folder.
So did i went to device manager and right click on my display driver and press update driver but it says I'm on the latest driver already.
I recently build myself a gaming computer the specs are as follows:

16GB G.Skill 1600 Mhz
ASRock Extreme4
Evga 750 Watt PSU
Asus GTX 670 2GB
After I Installed all of the drivers for everything but the graphics card it was finally time for that and as soon as I downloaded the newest drivers from Nvidia and restarted my computer I immediately got into a reboot loop and any time I've tried going into safe mode to delete the drivers my computer restarts. On top of all of that there are these red vertical lines all over my monitor.
I have two hdds (500gb 7200rpm) in my laptop and have 260gb of data on the second one. I wanted to create a partition for games at the beggining of the 2nd drive (the left side) as i heard it increased performance to put games in anoher drive and at the beggining of the drive.Will it make difference to make a partition at the beginning or at the end of this drive when it comes to gaming performance?My cousin showed me one game in the same drive installed in the 1st of four partitions of a 500gb 7200rpm (the same i have) performing with 3-5 fps more than that game installed in the 4th partition of that same drive....
View 9 Replies View RelatedI obviously have a problem with Windows 7. My computer worked fine until yesterday evening when suddenly Windows stuck. It looks like my disk is working (or trying to work) constantly. I am only able to use my computer normally every 5 minutes (and just for 20 seconds). Only the mouse works all the time. When I start the task manager nothing looks wrong.Everything works well in safe mode (I am currently using it) so I am a bit confused. Could it be an issue with the hardware?

Every time when I log on, I'll get a Temporary profile.I open RegEdit and check: C:HKEY_Local_MachineSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionProfileList and there is a .bak file on my true User profile. So I rename the temp_userfile to .fault and delete the .bak on my true User profile. I also change the value in the State Word to 0 (there's always a number here: 36840). After that a press F5(Update) and restart my computer, and everything works like a charm!
Then, on the very next day when I start the computer I have to do it all one more time!Why is the State-word always overwritten?
A couple days ago my mouse started to turn off.I thought it was the USB and mouse drivers so I updated them but it was no good.So I deleted the drivers and reinstalled them but that was no good.I checked in the device mannager and there was nothing about the mouse.BTW I'm using a leptop.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Asus X72J series running windows 7 64-bit. To make it simple, windows doesn't manage to boot normally, but it works if I start it in safe mode. I would like to know if there is any tutorial which proposes step by step processes in order to locate the source of the problem.I have alreay run startup repair 5 times with restarts between each, and it ended up it could not resolve my problem.
Besides:
- I have not installed any software before having this trouble
- I have not installed any new peripheral or driver
- I checked the memory and HDD and both are fine
- My guess is that there is a driver or hardware compatibility problem somewhere, since the trouble appeared after a long time passed in hibernation (extended stand-by mode) in which I unplug the computer, and this is ot the first time my WIndows has some troubles after this.
the other day i went to turn my computer on and it says the starting windows with the glowing windows symbol but the problem is is that it never loads. i have tried startup repair and system restore, but neither have made a difference

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an ongoing problem with my Windows 7 PC. Originally I had a Dell precision workstation 490 with 16 gig of RAM. The hard drives were Western Digital one was a 1 TB the other was a 2 TB. The precision workstation started to have a reboot problem. After 5 to 15 minutes of use it would simply turn itself off. It's not actually restarting itself it just quits like you pulled the plug out of the wall with no warning.I have a background in computer repair and after thoroughly troubleshooting the hardware decided that the old precision workstation might have a power supply problem. That power supply is no longer made so you can only buy used ones mostly from eBay. I decided that I would buy a new computer and swap out the hard drives video card and other hardware. Before I switched out the hardware I may an image file and recovery disks so that I could reinstall Windows 7 back into the new computer. I thought this would cure the computer from turning off.
I bought a new motherboard, new power supply, new Pentium four Ivy Bridge processor. I swapped over the drives and video card then installed the drivers for the motherboard and reinstalled the hard drive from the image. Seemed to work well but my computer dropdead problem came with the old hardware.I performed a in-depth VirusScan using Microsoft security essentials software. I did the complete scan are the in-depth scan and did find two Trojan viruses that were really nasty on the hard drive. These viruses were quarantined and then removed from the hard drive. Also I removed several older programs that I either don't use anymore are don't like. I have searched through config MS for a potential problem. But I don't see any problems there. I've found a program on the Internet that monitors the boot up and shows you what services are devices or whatever has been loaded to your system. It seems that the operating system loads over 2 million services a lot to shift through. I have gone through a lot of this checking out what I do not understand with the Internet. I really don't see anything that could be causing this computer just to turn off after about 5 to 10 minutes sometimes 15. Once it does turn itself off and this is the tricky part I can restart it and it will run the rest of the day without fail are causing me problems just after you turn it owns when it falls down.
I just bought a Dell inspiron laptop with windows 7 - I have not had any help from Dell. The issue is that when i shut down my PC it starts to isntall updates and warns me not to shut off the PC. However the updates go on for ever. Every time I shut down, there are two or 10 updates. each update takes 1 hour and can go on to 48 hours. I cant do anything with the PC unitl the updates finish. I force it shut down but when i bring it back up it starts installing the updates. very frustrating. I am very disappointed with Dell because they wont help until I cerate a tech support with them for $300.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI access the safe mode boot menu by pressing f8 during start up. Once there I choose boot in safe mode, hit enter and then windows lists the drivers it is booting with. The boot continues, however once done, the computer is not in safe mode, but is in normal operating mode (i.e. there are no "safe mode" indications at the perimeter of the screen, and all apps are up and running as usual).
I am not trying to fix any problem, I just wanted to be sure safe mode was there in case I needed it. A couple of days ago I actually had a piece of malware that disabled my Avast anti-virus and was preventing me from accessing the internet, and at that time I tried to boot into safe mode and had the same problem. I restored the computer with an image I had taken when the machine was new, which resolved the malware problem, but not the safe boot problem.
Incidentally, I have looked at the registry and the safe boot entries are intact:
(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSafeBoot is there along with it's subkeys Mininal and Network).
I am using Avast anti virus (paid version), Libre Office, Skype, Firefox and have a HP office jet 4500 printer. The machine is an ASUS U43F with an I5 processor.
I am looking for a way to wild card search. I have a bunch of project and they all start with 06. How I can search folders only for all names that start with this. I tried 06??? and 06* but I get so many hits because I have files that are named like there mother folder I don't even care if it has to be done in DOS. Or is there any 3rd party free software that can do it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSomething must have gone haywire installing blackberry desktop 6.1 software or windows installer is going nuts but I really don't know where to begin. I built a computer from a bare bones kit. It is running windows 7. It has been running just fine for months now. But all of a sudden I think *THINK, that when I click on any video file on my computer the windows installer starts and says it is trying to install blackberry desktop 6.1 software. Then it has some not found error and never finishes installing and keeps restarting the installer. I have not found any other programs that cause this. Only video related things. I do have BB desktop software installed and it runs just fine and backs up my phone regularly so I didn't think it was a problem with the blackberry install, which by the way, was done months ago also. I watched task manager processes when this happens and all I see is msiexec.exe and msiexec.exe*32 pop up in the list. Nothing about blackberry or anything.
