I have set the TV recorder defaults to start recording 15 mins early and still, the recordings are beginning late!As a result I miss half of the show and have to delete it.It seems as though the time for the shows are wrong from the guide data e.g. it will say X show starts a 8.06pm instead of 8pm.
View 2 RepliesI understand without being in some sort of perfectly quiet environment/home studio, nothing can be perfect.That aside, I recently purchased a new USB condenser mic (cardoid) and it can pick up all sort of sounds from my keyboard typing, mouse clicks, and my PC fans. My PC is positioned about as far as it will go without pulling the plugs out. It might also be worth noting there are no speakers on my PC. I've also read there is supposed to be a Microphone Boost in my recording settings as well as a Microphone Enhancements tab? There never has been, on any mic I've used on my PC. And it's been suggested that this might be a possible fix, but I'm sort of doubtful on that.I've been thinking of investing in more audio equipment (shock mount, scissor arm, pop filter?) or perhaps returning it for a different mic altogether.

I created system repair and recovery disks however; he knows very little about computers and didn't do the same. I will have to admit I know little about the system recovery process since I have always had a windows installation disk for previous computers and have not had to fall back on the system recovery process so don't know exactly how it works.I told him I would assist in creating a system recovery disk for his computer but wonder if it is too late at this date?
View 4 Replies View RelatedLast weekend I switched from Vista to Windows 7. Unfortunately I noticed some problem with my external USB drive: WD MyBook 320 Gb. When I log in, in 75% of trials there is a pop-up that new storage device was found (the same when you put USB flash into your PC).
Strange, because the disk is plugged into USB all the time... It means that when I log in just for a second the system does not see the drive, which has some some nasty consequences:
- shortcuts directing to files on external drive are damaged
- outlook cannot open archive folders on external drive (I have Outlook in autostart)
- at startup system cannot reopen explorer windows (path not found)
- etc.
After this faulty second everything is normal, i.e.disk are discovered properly and the are working well.
I tried to turn on login password (to give system more time), but it didn't help. This issue appeared neither in XP nor in Vista. Then I played with msconfig and unfortunately it didn't work. When starting in selective mode (startup items off, all non-Microsoft services off) approx. 50% trials
I think that folks at MS wanted Windows 7 to boot faster so external usb drivers are initiated after logging in.
resulted in the popup.
Is there any way to make system discover external drive sooner?
with my gpu Radeon HD 5570.It's working fine but every time i shut down my pc and want to turn it up again, I wait 5 minutes only for the gpu to turn on,then the system boots and everythings ok. With the old gpu Radeon HD 4350 I had no problems like this,it turned on normaly with the system.

But when I play games, when I hold the W button for a pretty long period, the games still thinks I'm holding the W button for a short period of time. This happens in any games. I have two hdds (500gb 7200rpm) in my laptop and have 260gb of data on the second one. I wanted to create a partition for games at the beggining of the 2nd drive (the left side) as i heard it increased performance to put games in anoher drive and at the beggining of the drive.Will it make difference to make a partition at the beginning or at the end of this drive when it comes to gaming performance?My cousin showed me one game in the same drive installed in the 1st of four partitions of a 500gb 7200rpm (the same i have) performing with 3-5 fps more than that game installed in the 4th partition of that same drive....
View 9 Replies View RelatedI had windows vista 32 bit earlier. Then I got windows 7 professional upgrade in trial period. I didn't notice how it happened. Of course it must be my mistake. Now when i boot from windows 7 it shows 64 bit and in vista it shows 32 bit. The system asks before booting which one to choose. It's today only that I have installed but I am not facing any problem as such except that i need a product key within 30 days. Should i leave as it is or uninstall vista somehow. Would i be able to reboot my system using the 32 bit vista CD?

View 4 Replies View Relatedi am trying to record some game play for a Internet channel and i keep getting lag spikes on 1 game. when ever i play league of legends i always will have a frame rate drop. i usually get around 120-90 fps without recording and 60-40 fps with recording but for some reason there will always be a drop to around 1-10 for about 2 secs.

I have the same issue on 3 different computers. one with p4, one with core 2 duo 2.8 ghz with 9600 gt 4 gb ram, and on a q9500 ati 4770 4 gb ram. the same results. I believe it's windows 7, coz this is impossible. the same thing happened with windows vista, but they record fast in windows xp , even on my p4 machine. all computers record the same on windows 7. Do not tell me to adjust the setting coz i will laugh at you. I been douing that for 3 years. camtasia forums and support are not helpful. their products sucks.or can you recommend a different program (free or trial)?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt would seem that 7MC won't utilize both tuners when recording back to back programs on the same channel. What it will do is use one tuner and cut off the first program and start another recording. Its really not apparent when there is a 6 minute commercial break between programing, but it is apparent when one program ends and the next starts right up. I have played around with the "padding" under recorder defaults and have set them to 2min before and 2min after, going as far as 10min before/after trying to force the thing to switch tuners and nothing works. It simply cuts short to first program by 10mins.
I've tried playing with the "priority" settings and it seems to me that "priority" has no effect whatsoever. I've tried going into the "series settings" and having it end 5min after without the "when possible". It would seem that the "recorder defaults" over rides the series settings. I am quite sure the 2 tuners are configured correctly because I had to set them up with 2 stb and IR blasters and I can start a manual recording on channel 269 and then watch channel 5. It simply won't tune both tuners to channel 5 simultaneously. I don't remember having this problem with XP or Vista. My tuners are Happage 1850 hybrids PCIe 1x with just the analog tuners having signal. The HD broadcast tuners are open.
In the past, I used to record music from Winamp with Streamstripper. It does not work in Windows 7.
