when i record screen with any screen recorder (camtasia, camstudio) it records slow choppy, especially when i drag windows they move at 5 fps , it flickers. all in all is too slow. I have the same issue on 3 different computers. one with p4, one with core 2 duo 2.8 ghz with 9600 gt 4 gb ram, and on a q9500 ati 4770 4 gb ram. the same results. I believe it's windows 7, coz this is impossible. the same thing happened with windows vista, but they record fast in windows xp , even on my p4 machine. all computers record the same on windows 7. Do not tell me to adjust the setting coz i will laugh at you. I been douing that for 3 years. camtasia forums and support are not helpful. their products sucks.or can you recommend a different program (free or trial)?
I'm doing a video walkthrough on The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind right now, and I'm using Camtasia 7 as recording software. I'm recording at 800x600 so that viewers can read the on-screen text, and I can still have my notes off to the side. The problem is it seems like I lose half of my frames. A good example of this can be seen in a video from a couple months ago, when I did a fullscreen recording. Entire seconds go by with no movement onscreen. I know that reducing the amount of running programs while I record can help, but I'm still losing a lot of video. There are a few compressor options available to me:Microsoft Video 1 Intel IYUV codec Cinepak Codec by Radius TechSmith Screen Capture Codec Uncompressed So far I've been using uncompressed, because I wanted full compatibility with other programs (I edit in Pinnacle Studio). Would any of the other compressors reduce my frame loss and still work in Pinnacle Studio? Are there any less lossy alternatives to Camtasia?
I want to record Hedgewars, an open source 2D game. I discovered an open source alternative to fraps called Taksi. This seems like a very good option to use, but I cant play/record with it without encountering a significant amount of lag. The game itself though is virtually lagless. What is the best FPS rate/ settings for this, and is there anything else I can do to the computer to make it lag less?
I have some slow boot, I don't know if that's normal or not as I didn't have this slow boot with Windows 7 x64 RC1 7100. The welcome screen will take like 8 seconds and then the desktop appears without shortcut icons, it takes 2 seconds for them to appear.
So, I am now successfully dual booting vista and windows 7. No problems whatsoever with the installs or dual boot process.
However, randomly one day after just shutting my computer down and starting it back up again everything about the bios and subsequent loading of the bios and the windows loader screen (where you choose your OS to boot) is PAINFULLY chuggy and slow in response. I have never seen anything like it in all my years of computer experience.
The weird thing is, once it boots into an OS, be it vista or windows 7...I notice absolutely zero slowdown or chuggy issues within the OS. I have ran benchmarks and they are all equal to any other time I've ran them. Indicating that whatever this issue is, it's not affecting the OS itself.
I have hard reset the cmos and completely wiped the bios settings and this chuggy and slow issue still plagues me. I went in and was resetting all my bios settings and every single keytroke took 2 seconds + to activate anything.
Any idea as to what is causing this? Or has anyone even HEARD of this kind of thing happening before? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
i had a problem just this morning, when i opened any window (window explorer, any folder...) the windows were very slow to appear and then slow again to be closed (looked like dissolving).
Built my new computer yesterday and my windows 7 boots very quick all up until i type my password and the welcome screen pops up and takes about 10 seconds before it goes into windows. I've build alot of computers with windows 7 in the past and this has never been an issue. I've read that people with solid backgrounds run into the same problem? but this was back in 2009 and I'm not running a solid wallpaper.
For the past few days my Laptop has been very slow to load up once I have logged in. Bootup seems to be fine until the user selection page. I then select my user ID and then log in. Once I hit the submit button the screen goes white and it takes a while to load up the desktopThe mouse is visible, but nothing responds. The Windows Key doesn't bring up the Start Menu or anything.CTRL+SHIFT+ESC brings up Task Manager which shows nothing untowards. On boot-up there is no peripherals installed on the laptop, just the Power Lead and WiFi is Active.I have updates on Automatic and Windows 7 is Genuine Home Premium. Here are the PC Specs[CODE]
It started yesterday when my wife and I noticed the computer hanging a bit more than normal - even when doing basic things, like clicking "login" to check our email. But, it would always come back and really wasn't all that frequent. This morning I tried to start it up and it got stuck on a black screen after the motherboard POST image. I was able to get into BIOS and boot from the windows CD. A system restore fixed it. I'm just wondering what you guys think was likely to have caused it. Is it likely that my boot files got corrupted somehow? I ran a diagnostic and from Seagate and it says that my hard drive is fine - but I'm not sure if that's just because I recently restored Windows.I did recently install a big name game - but it ran fine for three days before this happened. The system restore point I had was from when I installed it, so it's now gone. What do you guys think could have caused it? I'm just a little concerned that restoring only patched over a problem that will crop up again - or, that I should be afraid to install that game again.PS: System Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 3.0GHz E8400 Intel CPU, 500GB Seagate SATA HDD, 4GB Crucial 800MHz RAM (x2 2GB), ASUS P5Q Pro Turbo LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard. The game that was installed was Vanguard: Saga of Heroes.
I've installed my copy of Office XP (which works perfectly well for my purposes and I don't need any new features of later versions!), and Powerpoint 2002 runs very slowly re-drawing the screen. After selecting a "Slide design" from the view menu, it takes a two or three seconds to redraw the background if I switch between slides, type some text in a text box over the background, resize the window etc. (No delays when switching slides during a slide show though.)It works very fast on my old laptop running XP. My Windows 7 desktop computer is a Core Duo E7400 with a GTX260 graphics card (latest drivers installed) so should be about 10x faster than the laptop!
I am using win7 professional 64-bit os. It takes about 8-seconds to come for logon screen. Whether below mentioned procedure is suitable for the solution of slow startup:
1. Click on the Start orb, enter "regedit", and press the "Return" key. 2. Go to the following "folder" (also known as "keys" in Windows registry slang): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem 3. If you see an entry called "DelayedDesktopSwitchTimeout" on the right-hand side of the folder, move on to the next step. Otherwise, you need to create the entry. To do that, right-click on a free space in the folder, and select "New/DWORD (32-bit) Value". Type in "DelayedDesktopSwitchTimeout", and press "Return". 4. Double-click on the entry. Now all you need to do is to enter the number 5, and click "OK".
my pc is suddenly shut down and blue screen seen and restart againand after starting work again than see msg check online solution your window not workingor close the program
If a key is pressed down for longer than 2 secs, it apparently stops working, i.e. the display halts. If I release the key, the (apparently unprinted)characters appear at once. If I hold it down long enough, it even beeps. This happens with all the keys including backspace/arrow keys making my browsing experience miserable. (i.e hitting backspace on google box, the deletion seems to stop abruptly. But when I release it, I see multiple characters deleted at once)
This is reproduced in Firefox/Wordpad/MS-Word (At its worst in Firefox, much better in Notepad, but still there.) I rolled back to a 1 year old backup image via CloneZilla but the problem still exists. Probably its a hardware issue? (My laptop is now about 2 yrs old, it has switchable graphics, 512mb amd raedon card). Just tried it again with headphones on, it gives me a 'drrrrr-r' sound. Its even happening now as I'm typing this at a moderately fast pace.
recently I found that my computer running Windows 7 Home Premium is becoming slower. And the annoying thing is that, when my computer plays music or video, the audio occasionally becomes the BUZZ sound, with the discrete "jumping" of mouse cursor if it's moving.Once when the issue was bad, a Bluescreen occured with an infinitely repeating noise (buzzing again and again), and the screenshot of the Bluescreen is uploaded.
Some specs: Windows 7 Home Premium on Laptop Dell V130 2G RAM, (usually 85% is used); CPU: i3 @ 1.30GHz Processes: 81 (as currently - too many?) Services started: ~80

I want to record sound of a video playing and save it as a wav file . How can I do this the best , before in XP i used the voice recorder in windows , but now when I run the video and click record , nothing gets recorded. How can I live record from within the computer, I am not looking to record from the speaker. I know it's possible just not sure on the settings. I have Creative X-Fi soundblaster and I don't know how to go about capturing the audio to wav file.
IE9 has stopped recording my internet browsing history. Instead it only records my computer document history, like any saved pictures I open or any documents I openDoes anyone know why its done that and how I can put it right?
I wish to record iPlayer to DVD and have seen a software called 'Replay Capture Suite'. Is this the best around or do you know of others that are better? I have PC with OS Windows 7 Ultimate.
i want to record a short sound that is present on a website for a ringtone, but i can seem to get the sound recorder on W7 to "see" any type of recording device so i can record directly form the sound-card (onboard).url...the issue is i am not seeing the "Wave out Mix Device" that is supposedly disabled by default.
I am having a problem on recording my screensaver, whenever I use screen recording programs such as Camtasia Recorder or Snagit and open the preview or open the .scr file, it don't record the screensaver instead it record the desktop! So what should I do to make the program record my screensaver? Is there a program to convert .scr to .mp4 or .avi or any video format?
i am trying to record some game play for a Internet channel and i keep getting lag spikes on 1 game. when ever i play league of legends i always will have a frame rate drop. i usually get around 120-90 fps without recording and 60-40 fps with recording but for some reason there will always be a drop to around 1-10 for about 2 secs.
It would seem that 7MC won't utilize both tuners when recording back to back programs on the same channel. What it will do is use one tuner and cut off the first program and start another recording. Its really not apparent when there is a 6 minute commercial break between programing, but it is apparent when one program ends and the next starts right up. I have played around with the "padding" under recorder defaults and have set them to 2min before and 2min after, going as far as 10min before/after trying to force the thing to switch tuners and nothing works. It simply cuts short to first program by 10mins.
I've tried playing with the "priority" settings and it seems to me that "priority" has no effect whatsoever. I've tried going into the "series settings" and having it end 5min after without the "when possible". It would seem that the "recorder defaults" over rides the series settings. I am quite sure the 2 tuners are configured correctly because I had to set them up with 2 stb and IR blasters and I can start a manual recording on channel 269 and then watch channel 5. It simply won't tune both tuners to channel 5 simultaneously. I don't remember having this problem with XP or Vista. My tuners are Happage 1850 hybrids PCIe 1x with just the analog tuners having signal. The HD broadcast tuners are open.
