A couple days ago my mouse started to turn off.I thought it was the USB and mouse drivers so I updated them but it was no good.So I deleted the drivers and reinstalled them but that was no good.I checked in the device mannager and there was nothing about the mouse.BTW I'm using a leptop.
View 2 RepliesI've been having longer the normal windows load time after getting my second 6950 in my comp. I noticed that it starts up then goes into blackscreen with cursor then takes another 5 seconds to completely load into windows. Im thinking its something to do with adding another video card as i haven't experienced this before.
My Windows is installed on my Intel 320 80 GB SSD. Game performance stays the same. just the load up time for windows has slowed down a lot
i just got my pc on july 24 and never had many problems with it but now it shuts off and turns back on. please help because i don't know what to do and im in school.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a HP Pavilion g series laptop, which has recently, when being turned on, powering up as normal by turning the light of the power button on and lighting the screen, then quickly shutting these off again, and then continuing to turn on as normal.It hasnt been doing this for very long, I have no idea whether it is a serious problem or not as I don't know anything about computers. I must add that I don't use my laptop with the battery in; I use it with the battery out as I mostly use it plug into the mains.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy computer qwill freeze for a few seconds followed by system lag which seems to get worse (freezing every few seconds/taking 2 seconds to recognise a click etc.). If i reset my computer it resolves the issue but i was hoping you guys may be able to give me more insight as to what the issue may be.It nearly always happens when i am browsing in firefox. Have never had it happen to me during gaming etc. which is why i'm hesitant to believe it is to do with my GPU or it's drivers which are always kept up to date.i have included pics of the cursor and what processes were running at the time of the freeze/lag
View 9 Replies View RelatedWere working fine yesterday. Today I return home and find computer had mysteriously turned itself on. Mouse not working but keyboard allows me to try to shut down. Taking very long time so shut down with power button.
Now my keyboard and mouse both do not work on Windows login screen. Same for safe mode. Before this, in BIOS, other screens can get to by holding down keys as computer starts, keyboard works.
As Windows loads, can see keyboard illumination switches off. Same for mouse laser. My other USB peripherals (extra HD and wireless thingy) still have lights on. Fairly new computer. Cost me �300 new about 6 months ago.
I tried to 'roll back' Windows - there was only one option - for when I installed Itunes maybe a week ago, but that failed. I chacked inside and outside the case to see if there's any sockets for PS/2 keyboards, but there aren't any.
I currently have Windows XP SP3 installed on drive CDrive D is empty - Used to have Windows XPDrive E is my data drive.I put the Windows 7 64 Bit DVD in, it boots up and states loading files, then I see the coloured dots make the Microsoft window, then a blue screen with coloured lines and what looks like leaves. The mouse works, but that's where it all stops. I don't see anything else. Do I need to do anything special at this stage to proceed?What I want to do.I want to install Windows Ultimate onto Drive D but keep my Windows XP install as Dual Boot for now. I imagine, the CD would give me options to install like XP used to on drive of my choice, format my D drive and install.

When I first got it, it arrived without the video card so I used a temp one. The computer started crashing, so I thought it was because the video card was old. I borrowed another one from a friend and uninstalled the old drivers and installed the new ones. The same thing happened with this one. I decided to run some test so I downloaded prime95, memtest86+, and a video benchmark. Everything passed except for prime95. Memtest ran for 11 hours with no errors and prime95 crashes after a couple of minutes. I returned the motherboard because I thought it was faulty, but the same thing happens with replacement. I tried moving the memory sticks to different slots and using one and then the other. I tried installing windows 7 32bit and 64bit. I ran the diagnostic test for the cpu and everything passed. I have installed the latest updated drivers.
So if it's not the motherboard, memory, cpu, nor gpu, what could it be. Can someone please help me identify the problem(s). I don't know where the .dmp went but here is a screen shot [URL] and I will attach the PERFMON HTML file.
have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite Pro U400, I recently did a clean install of windows 7 home premium 32bit and when I turn it on the mouse freeze but everything els works but it doesn't unfreeze unless when I turn it off and on then it will work but the problem happens again after I turn if on and off again

View 5 Replies View Relatedi am able to turn my computer on for a few seconds but then it automatically shuts itself off after a few seconds but the thing is after letting it sit for a couple seconds it says something about how the clocks on my processor have been overclocked too high and asks if it wants me to restore them, so i do that and then the computer works fine, but then when i turn it off and turn it back on it does the exact same thing until i get that message again.i've tried manually reducing the clocks on my cpu even though they were already at stock clocks and that didnt work

However when he opens Windows Live Email it turns off Num Lock. I tested to see if opening Windows Live email would turn Num Lock on if it was off but it doesn't. It only turns Num Lock of if it is on.

i just got over my BSOD problem by disabling crossfire on my system. It was working fine for a few days (And it still technically is), but I'm having a strange issue now. The computer turns on and loads windows fine, but the screen is black until Windows actually loads. Basically, I don't see a splash screen for the motherboard and there's no way for me to get into the BIOS.

After some hick ups at being stuck at the blue wallpaper, I was finally able to fix the issue and click through the options to start the install. As the install starts and it gets to the "expanding files" progress bar, after a 2-3 min, my monitor goes into sleep mode or power-save mode - the screen goes goes to black and my monitor switches from DVI to VGA several times looking for a signal presumably and then just goes into standby like when I am inactive in windows xp for a few min. My computer is still running, however I am unsure whether the installation is still in progress - the dvd drive is still spinning, and the activity LED is still flashing. Some people say to connect the monitor via VGA, however I do not have a VGA port on my Gigabyte P35 DS3R Motherboard. My Video card is a Nvidia 8800 GTS 512mb, with dual DVI ports. I only have 1 monitor connected for the install.

It looks like my disk is working (or trying to work) constantly. I am only able to use my computer normally every 5 minutes (and just for 20 seconds). Only the mouse works all the time. View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever my display turns off, all my windows in explorer closes even when I am moving files. I don't really know how this happened but it is very annoying. Also, my windows explorer crashes like 5 times a day. It says that windows explorer is not responding and I have to wait for it to refresh but there are also times when I can't open it anymore then I'll have to restart my computer.
I have already done a full virus scan and system file checker but there were no threats or errors found.

Every time when I log on, I'll get a Temporary profile.I open RegEdit and check: C:HKEY_Local_MachineSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionProfileList and there is a .bak file on my true User profile. So I rename the temp_userfile to .fault and delete the .bak on my true User profile. I also change the value in the State Word to 0 (there's always a number here: 36840). After that a press F5(Update) and restart my computer, and everything works like a charm!
Then, on the very next day when I start the computer I have to do it all one more time!Why is the State-word always overwritten?
I have an Asus X72J series running windows 7 64-bit. To make it simple, windows doesn't manage to boot normally, but it works if I start it in safe mode. I would like to know if there is any tutorial which proposes step by step processes in order to locate the source of the problem.I have alreay run startup repair 5 times with restarts between each, and it ended up it could not resolve my problem.
Besides:
- I have not installed any software before having this trouble
- I have not installed any new peripheral or driver
- I checked the memory and HDD and both are fine
- My guess is that there is a driver or hardware compatibility problem somewhere, since the trouble appeared after a long time passed in hibernation (extended stand-by mode) in which I unplug the computer, and this is ot the first time my WIndows has some troubles after this.
