View 2 Repliesmy Toshiba laptop screen stays black, my laptop turns on but the screen stays black, I have tried many steps and none has proved, I wonder if it has to do with a cable or is the screen that needs to be replaced.

windows 7 ultimate 64bit

View 2 Replies View Relatedwe already checked the registry keys to ensure they were set to have Num Lock on at boot - and typically he has no issues with Num Lock. However when he opens Windows Live Email it turns off Num Lock. I tested to see if opening Windows Live email would turn Num Lock on if it was off but it doesn't. It only turns Num Lock of if it is on.
I have read a few threads on this forum and the last attempt at fixing this was ... Control Panel >> Ease of Access >> Make the keyboard easier to use>>Turn on toggle keys >> On or Off? However that was unsuccessful.
A couple days ago my mouse started to turn off.I thought it was the USB and mouse drivers so I updated them but it was no good.So I deleted the drivers and reinstalled them but that was no good.I checked in the device mannager and there was nothing about the mouse.BTW I'm using a leptop.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi just got over my BSOD problem by disabling crossfire on my system. It was working fine for a few days (And it still technically is), but I'm having a strange issue now. The computer turns on and loads windows fine, but the screen is black until Windows actually loads. Basically, I don't see a splash screen for the motherboard and there's no way for me to get into the BIOS.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just purchased a copy of windows 7 pro and I'm attempting to install it. After some hick ups at being stuck at the blue wallpaper, I was finally able to fix the issue and click through the options to start the install. As the install starts and it gets to the "expanding files" progress bar, after a 2-3 min, my monitor goes into sleep mode or power-save mode - the screen goes goes to black and my monitor switches from DVI to VGA several times looking for a signal presumably and then just goes into standby like when I am inactive in windows xp for a few min. My computer is still running, however I am unsure whether the installation is still in progress - the dvd drive is still spinning, and the activity LED is still flashing. Some people say to connect the monitor via VGA, however I do not have a VGA port on my Gigabyte P35 DS3R Motherboard. My Video card is a Nvidia 8800 GTS 512mb, with dual DVI ports. I only have 1 monitor connected for the install.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever my display turns off, all my windows in explorer closes even when I am moving files. I don't really know how this happened but it is very annoying. Also, my windows explorer crashes like 5 times a day. It says that windows explorer is not responding and I have to wait for it to refresh but there are also times when I can't open it anymore then I'll have to restart my computer.
I have already done a full virus scan and system file checker but there were no threats or errors found.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have rebuilt my system twice now and my system is still turning off the display and powering down randomly. I have followed all the guide lines for disabling sleep mode and it still randomly stops running by turning off the display and powering down. I have to push the power button again and then Windows start up in diagnostic mode where I can select safe mode if I want.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been having longer the normal windows load time after getting my second 6950 in my comp. I noticed that it starts up then goes into blackscreen with cursor then takes another 5 seconds to completely load into windows. Im thinking its something to do with adding another video card as i haven't experienced this before.
My Windows is installed on my Intel 320 80 GB SSD. Game performance stays the same. just the load up time for windows has slowed down a lot
I have an MSI a6205 laptop, and have recently reformatted my computer to reset everything in it. My problem is this: Ever since I re-installed Windows 7 my computer has been starting up, getting to the little 'Starting Windows' animation, then the screen turns off completely, with no back light (the fans and LEDs still function perfectly). The way I have been getting it to work is by turning it on, waiting for the screen to turn off, then tapping the power button and putting it to sleep, after a few seconds I hit the power button again to awake it, and the screen turns on and functions perfectly.
I know this isn't a hardware issue, because I also have Ubuntu 12.04 installed on the machine, and it works perfectly. It's just Windows 7 that is giving me this problem.
This will happen to me every once in a while, I'll either be watching a movie on Blu-Ray or I'll have a movie in iTunes playing, and after about an hour it will turn the screen saver on, and I've looked everywhere in the control panel for an option to turn it off selectively, and I cannot find one, is there a way to do this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust today i read a post stating that java has a bad virus. Know that i ran a malwarebites scan and it found 1 harmful item and i deleted the item. After restarting my computer from a prompt, my lenova v570 laptop now turns on with a black screen and a movable cursor right after the windows "welcome screen".
ctrl + alt + delete does not work
I have tried in safe mode and it turns on properly. So, i tried to do what others sujjested on other forums, which was to " roll back my graphics driver" after that, nothing has change.
I'm still fairly new to windows 7 and i have found a bug or something with mine. I normally have my windows start bar (the bar with all my open windows) set to be transparent. When I close my laptop screen it sets it to hibernation and a good portion of the time when I start it up again my start bar will be a solid light blue color.
It changes the way the windows work and frankly it's annoying! When I restart the computer it goes back to normal but there are times that I can't restart it due to a buggy Art program that won't allow me to save for a while and I'll loose everything. When I go into personalization I try and fix it and even if I change it back to transparent it stays solid until I restart my computer.
I am using kaspersky internet suite and disabled windows firewall. The problem is that turning the windows firewall off turns the pulic/home file/printer sharing and network discovery on.Turning on or off these settings starts the firewall.Disabling the firewall service permanently allows file sharing and network discovery for both public and home network, which cannot be turned off.I tried uninstalling kasperksky but nothing has changed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought this Fujitsu laptop for less than a year. Its only for my school work. It takes forever to bootup, startup and it sometime hangs when I open up a program or typing. For the bootup, it takes very long time on the window logo, after that the black screen, followed by the welcome page with the loading cursor. Each of this process take a long time. For startup, its not so long but its still quite lag. For the opening up of program and typing, everytime I open up my visual studio, it will take a long time to show up and even if it showed up, it will be "not responding".So I will have to open it a second time before I can start using itWhen I am typing my codes, it will randomly hang and show that the program is not responding. I am still able to move my cursor though.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am aware of the fact that my current gfx cards may be low end for DNF (Radeon 5750x2) but what is happening is that the game shuts down the monitor ingame. Like shutting down the signal (?). This occurs anytime from 5 minutes in to the game up to 30 minutes or so.
Only solution to get signal back is a hard reset.I have set up a GPU monitoring software (AMD Overdrive) to measure temps and will post logs here later, my intention with this post is to figure out any other verification measure I might take to verify that this is indeed this game overloading gfx cards?

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy first guess was that since we have an electrical instability in our home, perhaps the uneven flows of power would sometimes send a false signal to the power unit of the computer and trigger a start-up (quite often the lights in our home will briefly, and sometimes violently, wave up and down, especially at night).

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently my computer started to show signs that the power supply wasn't working properly. Every time it was unplugged and plugged back to the outlet, a light in the back will blink and make a clicking noise. Two days ago it did it again, when I unplugged it and plugged back in. I unplugged everything from the computer and try turn it on, but it didn't work. I checked all the cables inside and everything seemed to be connected properly. I unplugged the main cable from the motherboard and plugged the power supply and light at the back stopped blinking and remain lit. I decided to plug the motherboard cable. After doing that, the computer started but now it won't boot. All fans are running and there are no clicking or beeping sounds.
