Windows 7 Start Bar Turns Solid Light Blue Color After Hibernation

I'm still fairly new to windows 7 and i have found a bug or something with mine. I normally have my windows start bar (the bar with all my open windows) set to be transparent. When I close my laptop screen it sets it to hibernation and a good portion of the time when I start it up again my start bar will be a solid light blue color.
It changes the way the windows work and frankly it's annoying! When I restart the computer it goes back to normal but there are times that I can't restart it due to a buggy Art program that won't allow me to save for a while and I'll loose everything. When I go into personalization I try and fix it and even if I change it back to transparent it stays solid until I restart my computer.

I've been using computers since Win 3.0, but have recently built my own computer for the first time. Generally, everything works great right up until the point it doesn't.Sometimes my PC will randomly just "lock up". The screen freezes, the keyboard is completely unresponsive (including ctrl-alt-del), the mouse cursor is the spinning circle. The only way out is to hit the RESET button.It seems fairly random, and has happened while I was using iTunes, Outlook, or other programs.The one constant is that every time it happens, I can see that the HDD activity light is *solid*. It's not flickering / blinking like with normal HDD access, just solid. I don't know whether there is something truly being accessed, or whether the solid light is just a red herring.
Also, I don't know if the system is actually frozen, or whether there's something hogging the system to the extent it's so slow that it appears frozen. It's a pretty beefy system, so whatever it is would have to be really doing a number. I've only ever waited like 2 minutes before giving up.Given that every time it happens the HDD light goes solid, I have to suspect it's something with the hard drive subsystem, but I don't know how to begin troubleshooting whether it's a mobo SATA port issue, an Intel RST driver issue, a hard drive issue, a cable issue, or maybe it's not the hard drive at all!Here's some details (see more in my Systems Spec)Recently purchased DZ68BC mobo Prior to Windows 7 installed, verified mobo BIOS default was AHCI Installed Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium Win 7 appears to use AHCI After installing Windows, ran Intel utility to update/install all drivers, including Rapid Storage Technology drivers (did *not* update mobo BIOS) I am NOT running any RAID.Again, everything seems to work really nicely, right up until the point it decides to instantly freeze It's hard to troubleshoot because it's so random, I don't know when to expect it, and after it happens I can't bring up any tools (i.e. Resource Manager) to see what's going on.

When I try and change the background to an image it just stays as the solid color, I use to be able to change the background but I accidently set it as a solid color and I can't change it.I've tried Ease of access method.

My desktop background became solid black colors and can only select from solid colors.Even if I select image it still shows solid color and thumbnail of image inWindows 7/personalization does not work. I have Windows 7 and no matter if I am using Chrome or Internet Explorer, the color of the text that appears is so faint that it almost blends in with the background. Instead of black text, the text is like a gray color. It is so profoundly irritating I cannot stand it! It isnt like this on all websites. For instance, as I am typing this post. The text color is black and does not blend in with the white background. Although, it could have better resolution.

I have just installed Windows 7 pro on my older computer (PCi slots only). I have an HP IIIp laserjet that I have used reliably for many years - love the quality of print. It has a parallel port connection to Mobo.I have installed the updated drivers and computer recognizes it but when I direct a job to it , it just briefly turns on the receipt light then does nothing. I then have to go to the printer and cancel the print job.Does this mean I have to abandon this jewel? (No support available form HP)[CODE]

Went to use my laptop this morning (windows, 15 inch screen) and all I could get on the screen was several large black circles with the screen being a very light blue, like maybe sky blue. I can see the screen flickering, but nothing appears in the screen whatsoever.

I shut down the computer but did not unplug it from the surge protector. We were messing with the main breaker box in the house.When i went to turn it back on nothing. Monitor work everything and else that is plugged in to the surge protector. Took the computer apart and opened and cleaned all dust out Plugged it back in and nothing. There is a green light on the back just under the plug which is lit up (Green) as it was before I took it a part. Can't say I remember weather or not it was lit previously. Check on line and suggestions are the power supply may be bad. However I can't seam to find out if the power supply would be bad would the green light be on, which seams to be connected to the power supply box.

I've had my HP laptop for going on two years now and it's been acting up. It's mainly in the hibernation field and it started when i turned the start up GUI off (saved me about 15 seconds in start up) and first installed Ubuntu. I've read elsewhere and it said that my drivers need updated, but Windows update AND HP support assistant said that everything's up-to-date. I want to start from hibernation again. Oh, one more thing the screen is just a white dash (_).

I have a lenovo pc 9210 all diags pass all hardware is good. was running xp fine loaded vista ok loaded windows 7 32 bit runs ok, needs windows 7 64 bit...loaded windows 7 64, reboots after load begins first time setup then completes as normalreboots ....and hard drive light blinks .... then starts to start windows 7 but gets the four colored dots then just sits there no more hd lights no , no nothing.

Recently I've disabled hibernation ( powercfg -h off in cmd ) on my computer coz I'm using an SSD and I wanted more space.Now I wanna have it back ( powercfg -h on in cmd ) but the option to hibernate does not show up in start menu.I can choose to hibernate after clicking power button in power options and hibernation itself is working.

After some recent updates and/or software installs, at some point the "hiberation" option no longer appeared in my start menu shutdown options. I searched the web and found many posts suggest that the fix is simple -- all I have to do is enable hiberation via one of two ways
- run "powercfg -h on" from an elevated command prompt
- modify the registry to enable hibernation
Well I did both those things and neither worked.The registry already had the correct value for the key -- hibernation is enabled.

I have an annoying little problem when my computer is turned on the fans start but the green light in the front is just flashing. I can get it to boot if i push the other button which is set to turn on off sleep but it takes a random amount of times before it works. When I put my computer in hibernation, sometimes when I wake it, it hangs at the user select screen, or it just shows a black screen. Sometimes I can reset the computer after it has hanged, and try again resuming from hibernation, and many times it will work after a couple of tries. Other times after resetting I won't get the prompt to try again with resuming (the other option is to delete hibernation data and reboot the system) but I will get the usual screen that says that Windows was not shut down correctly (with all the options for safe mode, etc). If I cannot resume and I get the screen with safe mode and all the other crap, I finally log in I get a notice that there was a critical error, in the details I see BlueScreen and other data, but I actually never get a blue screen. In the dump folder, there are no dmp files related to the hibernation hanging.
Anyway, when it happens, I see several Event 18 WHEA-Logger in the event viewer, about 6 of them every time.What's weird though, is that I literally have NO problems with this computer other than this. The only times it hangs is when I resume it from hibernation. I can play games or run stress tests with or without overclock and the system is 100% stable. But there is some problem that prevents it from resuming from hibernation correctly, so every time I use it is basically a gamble because it has like 50% chance of working.I tried EVERY SINGLE solution I found with google related to hibernation problems, and it's still there. I even formatted and reinstalled Windows from scratch, and it's still there. I'm positive I updated every single driver for every hardware I have and nope, no solution.I know the WHEA error is related to the hardware but like I said, everything works PERFECTLY once the system starts up properly, or when it resumes from hibernation properly. using windows 7, have a blue screen at start up issue, memory dump. Sadly the PC wont start so unable to try too much, it lets you select user, attempts to ,log onto the user then just goes to mthe blue screen and starts the cycle again. It will not start in safe mode either, basically the same result although sometimes it loads and you are in but when you try to do anything it goes to the blue screen again. I did get the error code (not always the same on the blue screen but this one comes up most time), "driver IRQL not less or equal"

I could successfully change my background image of the start menu with sevenforums existing threads. Unfortunately I could not find any image IDs for the start menu all programs background image. I searched through the threads and through Restorator, but with no result. share the IDs for 'all programs background image'?

I been working a a friends netbook for about 2 weeks now and I can't seem to find a fix to the problem. Once I got Windows 7 on it but when my friend started putting music on it it crashed. So then after that I installed Ubuntu on it and that worked for a little bit but it still crashed. Then I installed Windows 8 on it and it worked for fine for a few days then it quit working. So I decided to install Windows 7 back on it and after it dose a complete install where the screen should install the drivers I got a short blue screen then the netbook restarted. So now when you boot it up it try's to load windows but after it bets passed loading it restarts the computer. The netbook is a Asus Eee PC 1001p.
