Right, straight to the point. I've recently been given a few parts of computer from my friends that has now been assembled into a working desktop.I've got Windows 7 saved as a .iso file on a usb-hdd. I manage to get it working up to the point where i click "Install Now" on the Windows 7 installer programme, then after a couple mins of loading once clicked it comes up with this message."A required CD/DVD drive device is missing. if you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step."There are 3 options that come up with this pop up being "browse" "ok" and "cancel" After clicking "ok" it comes up with another message saying"No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK."
I wanted to install windows 7 on my notebook compaq. When I finish most of the steps. The first windows welcome screen can not load and stops just blue screen.
Okay so i have this machine, acer m3100, that originally had windows vista. I tried to do a clean install of windows 7, with an original windows 7 installation cd.Everything would go okay until right after the computer restarts and goes to the part of COMPLETING INSTALLATION. At that moment my screen suddenly flashes with the blue screen of death. i wasnt able to right the error that shows up though. Then the computer restarts and goes to setup devices and right after that an error message appears saying, windows did not complete installation, due to an unexpected restart, restart the computer and restart the installation. If i click okay it will go into an endless loop. Restarting one time after another. So i thought i would install windows vista again. Try to make things the way they were before, but i get the same error. i'm only able to install xp. With XP everything works fine. I do want to be able to install windows 7 though.
I am trying to install Windows 7 through USB in my Dell studio 1555 Laptop. Every time it gets stuck at "setup is starting".I have already disabled all other boot options except USB. There is no floppy drive option.I have gone through more or less every post related to this problem , but the common solution that is to remove all the USB, Firewire etc. attachments. It does not work in my case as I am installing from USB.
i got a prob with my Windows 7 after the installation n the first reboot, and Starting Up Services, it comes on Completing Installation screen when it ends, it doesnt reboot, neither turn off, it just stays on black screen for hours. with the computer working, and the mouses`s cursor moving.
Cant remember excactly the PC specs 2,6Ghz Intel CPU Nvidia GeForce 7800 or smthng 512mb 4GB ram 2x120GB WD HDz
Every part of the computer is completely new.Its a selfconfigured system...
Processor: AMD FX-8120 3,1GHz Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-970-UD3 (BIOS F4) RAM: DDR3 2x4GB 1600MHz Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 TI 1GB SSD: 120GB SATA 6Gb/s DVD: SATA Liteone iHas122 OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
So basically my problem is what is stated in the topic already.Windows loads the data off of the ORIGINAL (purchased it today) DVD, extracting files etc. Then after the Computer restarts and loads, the installation process comes back up again, and shows the "moving dots" behind "Finishing Installation Process" for about 10-15 seconds, then they freeze... i left it for 2 hours. Nothing happened.I tried unplugging everything during the reset, after another try to install it. It freezes.I tried the "Shift+F10" --> explorer.exe . It freezes.I tried a downloaded copy of Windows 7 Prof.... same thing, it freezes.I tried 3 different Sata2 HDDrives, same thing it freezes.
When I insert the disc and wait until the CD boots and the files loaded the installation screen appears and is just stuck. The mouse goes off and the keyboard is all so off. My configurations are Core i5 2400, 8GB ram
I'm trying to install Windows 7. I've tried a full format and once it saves files and reboots it doesn't continue further it just starts from the beginning again. The HD has come from another PC that was working. Where can I start?
i was trying to upgrade my windows7 from 32 bit to 64 bit. i downloaded the ISO image and burned it to DVD by right clicking on the iso file, then open with, then widows disc image burner. now when i try to boot with the DVD and i get the "press any key to boot from cd or dvd" message with a black background. but if i press keys nothing happens and it remains same forever. why it doesnt proceed further ? what to do?
alternatively, i tried pressing F11 during restarting, then selecting cd or dvd for booting and hiting enter, but then also it takes me to the black screen with the "press any key to boot from cd or dvd" message and blinking cursor, if i press keys nothing happens !
It really sucks because it's a driver that, when not installed, causes me to crash all the time! I've already tried disabling Windows Security Essentials' Real-Time Protection.
Well this computer is brand new its supposed to have windows 7 its a Eee PC. A message pops up saying The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.as far as I know new programs were not added and the installation was completed the first time. I already tried safe mode but it does not allow me.
P.S. its the mini so it has no cd rom to insert the cd and it did not come with a cd.
i have toshiba satellite A205 win 7 its been freezing a lot lately i dont know why so i tried to install Windows 7 OS again (its not genuine) i usually do this successfully if i get virus but i dont think its virus this time but during the installation it got stuck it passes the copying windows file up to completing installation but it says it needs to be restarted and i did this several times it either hangs up or tells me cannot be installed restart.whenever i start all over again a black screen comes up with listing windows 7 several times asking me to select 1.i select the latest but same thing happens allover cannot access safe mode either i tried to install win 7 ultimate geniune but same thing happens.i also tried the repairing option its not working keeps telling me to restart..i believe its the hdd thats corrupted.i need to get my files.
I have an acer aspire desktop, which I recently restored, or attempted to anyway. It has become stuck on a screen saying 'software installation' then a loading bar with 'installing nvidia vga 3d vision above it. it has been like this for at least ten hours, and seems to have gotten nowhere. I tried turning it off, but it just resumes in the same place, anyone know anything?
Ok, so earlier today i decided that i needed to restore my laptop to factory default. As you can see from the title, i use an acer laptop which means i used the acer Erecovery software. All went well at first, although it took a stangely long time at a screen which said "setup is starting." The problem now is, I am now stuck on the acer 'software installation screen!' It is stuck at 41/48 where it is trying to install clear.fi v1.0. I think i heard the sound of an error earlier which worries me as i dont want to force restart my laptop as it clearly says not to do that and doing this caused my hard-drive to break last time
I installed an ocz vertex 4 ssd (256g model) into my msi gt70 laptop. A product key came with the laptop, and I've burned windows 7 to a disc. I made sure the ssd has priority in the BIOS too.
When I start up the installation, it gets to the "Installing updates" step, but doesn't progress any further, the laptop is effectively frozen on that step. I've tried re-installing a couple times now and it continues to get stuck on "Installing updates".
Do I need an active internet connection for this step by any chance?
I am re installing Windows 7 on a Dell Inspiron laptop. I used the disc that came with the system. Everything went smooth and restarted a couple of times but once it got to "Completing installation", it's been stuck on it for about an hour. I'm assuming that's not right because I've installed Windows 7 numerous times. The green status bar on the bottom isn't moving at all if that helps. What should I do?
Unplugging all USB devices that aren't needed. Updated Bios to the most recent version available and reset back to defaults. Double check that all essential hardware is compatible with 64 bit ( the documentation I've found says that all of my hardware is ok). Tried booting from DVD, burned at slowest speed. Tried booting from USB. Tried both 32 and 64 bit versions with the same results
why Windows hangs at the "completing installation" point?
My system has Windows 8 with UEFI. I want to install Windows 7 Pro on another partition. I have turned off Secure Boot in the UEFI/BIOS. When I try to install Windows 7 Pro from a DVD it shows "windows is loading files" and then gets stuck on "Starting Windows" for ever. This happens even when no USB peripherals are attached.
I have just got Windows 7 Ultimate.I accept the Licence Agreement, set my partitions as i want them but when it gets to the expanding files part it will hang at 0%. This happens on both the 32 & 64 bit disc. This is a brand new purchase which I opened it about an hour ago.The laptop has a 400GB HD and 2GB of ram. It came with Home Prem x64 pre-installed, So the hardware meets the requirements. What seems to be the problem?
I just bought a new hard drive and a brand new Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit disc and I am doing a clean install on the new hard drive. it seems that everything is going normal, but at a random time during the installation, the computer just shuts off.sometimes it doesn't even get to the installation when it shuts off. sometimes it shuts off in the middle of the "windows is loading files..." black screen. there are no beeps when it shuts off or when I turn it back on. there are also no error codes.whenever i turn it back on it simply acts as if it never tried to install windows and starts the boot all over from the disc
So i have a new SSD Corsair Force 3 240 gig and all I want to do is install Windows 7 Pro on it. This board does not support parted magic (cannot wake from sleep and there are no onboard video to wake up to) so ive resorted to clean all.I have not been able to successfully boot the OS on the SSD. I never intended on setting up raid but apparently all the literature i see is on raid. I created a USB install disk as reccomended onto a 8gig ntfs primary active did the bootsect /nt60 X: and it successfully worked copied the cd over to the flash drive and copied the rste drivers in a folder called drivers My SSD is installed on port 1 6gig sata intel (as this board doesnt have marvel apparrently) My DVD is installed on 3gig Sata port 6 I set up Raid in the bios as reccomended by others (as this is the only way to install ssd?).
Nothing UEFI is enabled There are no other drives hooked up to the computer. Just SSD, USB cordless mouse, keyboard and no network cord or WIFI i started with a clean ssd as reccomended my bios recognized the ssd on post i booted into the win 7 install (MBR not uefi) i loaded the 64 bit rste drivers from asus as reccomended by others i left the machine to install the usb then booted into windows install (for whatever reason) i pushed f8 to boot my corsair windows brings up an error on a black screen File: windows/system32/drivers/adpahci.sys driver did not load Status: oxc0000221 Info: Windows Failed to load because of a critical system driver is missing or corrupt
I am installing Windows 7 (Custom installation initiated from Windows XP) but I get the following error message when the installation is on the "Installing updates" step of the installation:
"Setup cannot continue due to a corrupted installation file. Contact the vendor of your Windows installation disc or your system administrator for assistance."
Do you have any idea what the problem may be with the installation? Is there a way to see what file that may be corrupted?
I have tried to burn the DVD in low speed, but the error appears anyway. I have a MSI K8T Neo2-Fir mainboard and the Windows 7 upgrade advisor application says that my hardware is okay for upgrading.
First, my laptop is a Aspire 5250-BZ853. I received it back in October, I think...may've been earlier. But anyhow, it was working just fine yesterday until I did a Windows Update. I had to restart, and it was fine again. But then it began running sluggishly slow, and just terrible overall so I restarted it once more and that was when the problems began.
This entire day, this has been driving me nuts. I have important files on here, and I backed up most on my external harddrive a bit ago but there were a few I missed and hadn't the chance to get (ironically enough the most important, papers and such.) At first, it said my password was wrong -- as if someone had changed it! I restarted it once more, thinking it an error or something, and did that again so I restarted it again. Finally, it worked but I think it logged me in as safe mode somehow. After that, it restarted on its own and began this loop. I did a LOT of searching on Google until finally someone suggested to someone else to try pressing "ALT + F10" I think it was as it was starting, and finally I made progress. Before that, it was just going into a constant rebooting loop and I couldn't even log into safe mode. Trying to reset it back to a time it was working was futile, because it said there was no recovery time there! So that shot that idea down. At last, I got somewhere.as well. I clicked the reset to factory settings, but still keep all the files (and they would be saved to "C:Backup" and I thought it had finally worked. But now as it reinstalls, I got an error saying something about how it needed to restart or something...so when I clicked "okay" it began again, and finally it all just came to a stop on "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation."
For over a month our HP Compac Presario CQ57 displayed that our Windows 7 might not be genuine. Hence, the computer keeps crashing. This morning the computer crashed and would not come back on again. The computer is stuck on Welcome. I finally got back into the computer and put a product key number, which I took from my other new computer, and it stated that the PN was accepted. However, we are still having the same problem. It will not start in Safe Mode, it will not work if we do a repair, because it asks for a cd, which we did not get with our computer. What can we do get our computer to go past the welcome screen?
I've seen many different discussions about this but they don't have the same problem I have.but in the recovery disk but this is what it says

I can only access my main computer running windows 7 64 bit in safe mode + networking - normal access gets stuck on welcome screen after entering password just prior to loading desktop. In safe mode looking at icon notification (show hidden icons) I saw windows update stating 'is downloading updates (71% complete) (whatever I have done 71% remains constant) running windows update troubleshooter finds problems I get two lines of results both saying 'Repair Windows update components Not fixed. I Have tried previous good configuration, system restore, (to 2 days ago prior to a windows update installation) and disabling windows update service. none of these have made any difference still stuck on welcome screen if I do normal start up. Also nothing happens when I try to run windows update from Start and All Programs, no error message just nothing
I now have another issue with my pretty new laptop. Windows won't start up. Well it starts up but when I get to the password screen and type that in my laptop just gets stuck on the welcome screen. I don't know what to do fix it. This all started last night when I accidentally pulled the power cord out of the wall and the CPU shut down. The battery pack wasn't in( didn't wanna bust my battery)
I Have a HP Dv4 Laptop runninh windows 7 that is not booting into windowsIt is getting stuck at the windows log on screenIt won't let me boot into safe mode.I was able to get all of the data off by using a Ubuntu CD and copying information to an external HD. The windows repair option is not working
