Windows 7 Ultimate X64 New Installation With No Devices Found?
Jul 2, 2012
I completely formatted my computer to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit from Windows 7 Home Edition x64, I put in the correct product key and then when I attempted to connect to the internet I couldn't because I don't have the correct drivers.Back when I used to use Windows XP I put a little CD in and then installed the drivers from Device Manager but now with Windows 7, I put the CD in and I can't install the drivers. They show up with a tiny symbol with a yellow exclamation mark on it (it was like this too back when I used XP, but I had no problems then,).
The uninstalled drivers are these:
Base System Device
Base System Device
Ethernet Controller
Network Controller
SM Bus Controller
Also, if this helps my laptop is an Acer Laptop.
Windows 7 Home Premium
AMD A-Series Quad-Core Processor A6-3400M - 4MB cache, 1.4GHz
15.6" HD 1366 x 768 pixel resolution - 6GB DDR3 SDRAM
500GB hard drive
integrated Super-Multi drive
5-in-1 card reader
AMD Radeon HD 6520G Graphics
802.11b/g/n WLAN
Gigabit LAN

When I double click on the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar the Bluetooth Devices window comes up, the green bar loads to 99% and nothing happens, even though I have 2 turned on Bluetooth devices near the dongle. I have also tried using the software (BlueSoleil) that came with the dongle, but that doesn't work either. All the devices in the device manager are installed correctly (no unknown devices). I am using Windows 7 Premium.

Tolerance here, new to the forums as some of you may notice. Anyways I'm trying to install Windows 7 ultimate package on a PC that previously had Windows Vista. I've already ran the Windows Adviser program, and my PC seems fine so i went ahead and tried to install. First i tried using a burned ISO file to a DVD, with this i made my primary boot device the DVD drive, and my setup started normally. But after i selected the language, then a custom installation, and was directed to select the driver in which Windows 7 would be installed on i would get an error that reads, No device drivers were found. Make sure the installation media contains the correct drivers then click OK."
I've browsed these forums looking for someone with similar problems, and i did find them, and a lot of the threads were really annoying seeing as how so many people decided to reply with long irrelevant comments. Based on the answers from those threads I've tried burning the ISO file with a different burner (which was suggested often), but still with no prevail. So i was wondering if there was a problem with my system, or maybe my C: drive.

My system crashed and i get the blue dead screen. Now i want to install windows 7 (legal) from usb. When i get to the 'where do you want to install windows?' it gives me the following message: No drives were found. Click Load Driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation.I tried to go to my bios and change some things i read from other treads, but it didn't work out for me. I just don't know where in the bios i can change things, maybe my bios is different than others. This is my laptop: MSI GX700 Intel Core 2 Duo T7500-processor @ 2,2 GHz This is what my BIOS tells me:

I recently built a desktop so that I could play SWTOR, all the parts were salvaged from other computers, but they are all working and compatible, to the best of my knowledge, except for the hard drive, which was broken, so I went out and bought a Western Digital 1 TB hard drive and a new copy of Windows 7 Home Edition. When I got home I plugged the hard drive, a SATA drive, in and popped the install disk in, only right after I got to the "Install Now" button and clicked it did I get this message; No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OKFollowed by;A required CD/DVD drive device is missing. if you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now.Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step

Its my own fault, I was doing this in a daze. Having installed the new SSD and gone into Windows 7 setup, I thought id created a new partition on the drive for Windows to go on. Anyways, Windows was saying there was some sort of problem, so I thought, ok , rinse & repeat - and so I hit delete...Now nothing is showing up in the drive list. It is visible in bios - and I've since used the OCZ boot disk and did a secure wipe. Still nothing. So I used a PartitionWizard boot disc, and created a brand new NTFS system partition. Still nothing. Do I need some drivers or something? Setup does say I could use a disk to find some...

I am getting this <<This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer Package>> Yesterday I clean uninstalled my photo editing programs, Photplus X4 and PanoramaPlus, which are similar to Adobe Elements. The reason was that certain pics would not display, although displayed elsewhere. This morning my attempts to reinstall from the manufacturer's DVD Rom were unsuccessful with the above error.

I have an hp 9400f, and had windows 7 ultimate x64 or x86 installed. Two days ago, I unplugged my logitech keyboard. By doing so, it triggered some sort of reaction. The monitor visual showed the screen distorted in coloring, so i assumed that i moved the graphics card a little. I restarted my computer, and when i did, it wouldn't go past the bios screen. I'd get the "hp " blue screen, but would not work ( system recovery ) .The symptoms my computer has right now is the blinking underscore, and from that point on, nothing happens. It stays at that point, never moves on. I have restarted my computer countlessly. I also noticed that when its on this screen, and I press / hold on to a key, my motherboard will make a "clicking" noise repeatedly directly related to the amount of times i press the key. It's instantaneous. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it though .many people have encountered this issue. One forum had a comment which said this was a result from faulty ram. I have removed each stick of ram, but i have not seen any sort of change

I bought a W7 Home Premium, the discounted version for students, and I'm trying to install it on my Acer 6930G (500GB, ram 4GB, ...right stuff for W7).
I'm actually running W Vista x86, and I know that in order to run W7 x64 (the one I bought) I must do a custom installation from the boot. And I'm doing so, well trying to...
After the window asking for my location and keyboard input, I continue but then I get stuck.
A new window pops up asking me for a device driver...it stated "device driver not found"...
I read a lot on the internet, but that's driving me mad...
how can I solve the problem and having that OS running?!
I'm going to sue Microsoft if that OS is not gonna run... xD

I am running windows 7 sp1 and downloaded the german language service pack.but i can t install it and at the end of the progress it fails, with out mentioning the reason or giving an error.I didn t do that from windows update because i wanted to have the installation file for the future, after reinstalling windows.By the way, i have enough free space on windows drive, have downloaded the same 32- bit as the system, and the installation file doesn t seen to be corrupted.I also try to install it, instead of double-clicking- by going to region and language sections and install from there, but in browse window i can t give the installion file to it and it says that : no valid installation package is founded in this folder.

So, as @karlsnooks and @golden had said, I downloaded an ISO file from Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River My Digital Life. And using a Windows 7 USB/DVD Tool, I burned it into a USB stick. Now, when I boot from it, I get to the Window home screen, and when I proceed, I get this message:"A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step." <Browse> <OK> <Cancel>When I browse and point it to the Boot folder, this message comes:No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers and then click OK.

I got the upgrade ultimate win 7; i am upgrading to 64 bit from xp pro 32; as directed i am going with the clean install; my system is already partitioned; at first i jus loaded the disc and change my start up to boot from disk and it would freeze at expanding files tried 3 times and all froze at different %s; after reading a few blogs i disconnected all usb's, multi card reader, all other disc drives and only kept the one running this disk; took out my 2x1GB RAM and left the 2x2GB to only run one channel;i did leave my usb mouse (Logitech MX revolution) and had to connect my key board for a sec when I had to tell it to start win normally since I interrupted boot, but disconnected again; after all this the upgrade seemed to be going awesome i selected my the partition with XP already to wipe out (150GB) and went all the way to completing installation and it froze! so i restarted after 1 hr of waiting and let it run all the way to booting from HDD and error came up saying installation not complete, restart to complete but it just keep coming up, so i started from scratch and now i froze again at expanding files..

I had a retail version of the genuine edition of Windows 7 Ultimate edition, but I threw away the disk upon moving. However I do still have the CD key for it.I'm wondering how I can do a reformat of the hard drive without a CD/DVD. If there's an official ISO file out there anywhere, I could just enter my CD key again.I have no way of getting to the desktop right now because of BSOD on boot.

So I have searched around and none of the solutions worked, but let me get to the basics:
DFI LanPark DK 790 FX Motherboard
3.2 GHz AMD Athlon X2 64 bit processor
4 GB DDR2 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS Video card with 720 MB Ram
Hard drives:
Western Digital Raptor @ 70 GB (going to be used as the OS drive)
Western Digital Caviar @ 80 GB
Maxtor 120 GB IDE drive (the other 2 are both SATA drives)
Sony DVD R/RW Drive
using onboard audio
Okay so I am running a fresh, clean install (the only "information" is on the IDE drive, and that's my backup for iTunes and Steam) using the Windows 7 Ultimate DVD. The DVD kept hanging @ "completing installation", so I took it to my laptop, and using the instructions on here, made a bootable flash drive.I just tried completing installation from the bootable flash, and it still hangs at that step. When it hangs, it's in a locked up state.. I can't even press Shift + F10 (nothing happens). Also, the CD correctly makes the "System Allocated" section on the drive. Also, i removed all USB drives, and am running both a PS/2 mouse and keyboard.

I have a HP dv9920us. A month ago I upgraded to win7 from vista. Everything was working fine until a couple of days ago when returning from work I found a black screen and an error message " no operating system found". No attention paid since I thought that my hdd went bad. So got a new one installed it but got the same message. So went into BIOS and saw that no hdd was detected. My laptop has 2 sata ports so I changed port and to my relive BIOS recognized my hdd in this 2nd port leading me to believe that the first port had gone bad. I did a clean win7 install. Everything went fine. Installed drivers etc no problem. During the first boot after and right after the post message the laptop just suddenly shut down and rebooted and then shut down again just after the post message. This loop went on for a couple of times and finally ended to a black screen with the message " no operating system found". Checked the BIOS again and the hdd was there. Booted the machine with the installation dvd in the drive this time and after the same loop for a couple of times (boot-post message- shut down- reboot ) instead of going to the no "operating system found" it continued and loaded win7. I've performed every possible test that I know for checking memory, hdd etc and everything looks good. The bottom line is that now the only way that I can use my laptop is to boot it with the installation disc in and it loads and works perfectly. If I try to boot it without the disc I end up with the "no operating system found".
