Windows 7 Ultimate Won't Start Without Installation DVD

Apr 23, 2012

I formatted my hard disk (it has two partitions) and installed Windows 7 Ultimate on one of the partitions. Then when I tried to start Windows 7 Ultimate it said that I must repair the Windows installation.I tried to repair with Windows repair disk the start up but Windows 7 Ultimate won't boot again and says "bootmgr is missing".I tried again to repair with the command prompt,to rebuild with "BOOTREC/REBUILDBCD but it still won't boot.It boots only if I change the Bios and make my DVD as the first booting device and put my Windows 7 DVD on it.If I put other disks it won't boot. Can anyone tell me a way of how to boot without the Windows 7 DVD on the drive.

Windows 7 Ultimate X64 Or X86 Installation?

Jun 1, 2011

I have an hp 9400f, and had windows 7 ultimate x64 or x86 installed. Two days ago, I unplugged my logitech keyboard. By doing so, it triggered some sort of reaction. The monitor visual showed the screen distorted in coloring, so i assumed that i moved the graphics card a little. I restarted my computer, and when i did, it wouldn't go past the bios screen. I'd get the "hp " blue screen, but would not work ( system recovery ) .The symptoms my computer has right now is the blinking underscore, and from that point on, nothing happens. It stays at that point, never moves on. I have restarted my computer countlessly. I also noticed that when its on this screen, and I press / hold on to a key, my motherboard will make a "clicking" noise repeatedly directly related to the amount of times i press the key. It's instantaneous. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it though .many people have encountered this issue. One forum had a comment which said this was a result from faulty ram. I have removed each stick of ram, but i have not seen any sort of change

Upgrating From XP To Windows 7 Ultimate 64 / Freezes During Installation

Sep 1, 2010

I got the upgrade ultimate win 7; i am upgrading to 64 bit from xp pro 32; as directed i am going with the clean install; my system is already partitioned; at first i jus loaded the disc and change my start up to boot from disk and it would freeze at expanding files tried 3 times and all froze at different %s; after reading a few blogs i disconnected all usb's, multi card reader, all other disc drives and only kept the one running this disk; took out my 2x1GB RAM and left the 2x2GB to only run one channel;i did leave my usb mouse (Logitech MX revolution) and had to connect my key board for a sec when I had to tell it to start win normally since I interrupted boot, but disconnected again; after all this the upgrade seemed to be going awesome i selected my the partition with XP already to wipe out (150GB) and went all the way to completing installation and it froze! so i restarted after 1 hr of waiting and let it run all the way to booting from HDD and error came up saying installation not complete, restart to complete but it just keep coming up, so i started from scratch and now i froze again at expanding files..

Windows 7 Ultimate X64 New Installation With No Devices Found?

Jul 2, 2012

I completely formatted my computer to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit from Windows 7 Home Edition x64, I put in the correct product key and then when I attempted to connect to the internet I couldn't because I don't have the correct drivers.Back when I used to use Windows XP I put a little CD in and then installed the drivers from Device Manager but now with Windows 7, I put the CD in and I can't install the drivers. They show up with a tiny symbol with a yellow exclamation mark on it (it was like this too back when I used XP, but I had no problems then,).

The uninstalled drivers are these:

Base System Device
Base System Device
Ethernet Controller
Network Controller
SM Bus Controller

Also, if this helps my laptop is an Acer Laptop.

Windows 7 Home Premium
AMD A-Series Quad-Core Processor A6-3400M - 4MB cache, 1.4GHz
15.6" HD 1366 x 768 pixel resolution - 6GB DDR3 SDRAM

Reformat Windows 7 Ultimate Without Installation Disk

However I do still have the CD key for it.I'm wondering how I can do a reformat of the hard drive without a CD/DVD. If there's an official ISO file out there anywhere, I could just enter my CD key again.I have no way of getting to the desktop right now because of BSOD on boot.

Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) Install Fails At Completing Installation?

Feb 9, 2010

So I have searched around and none of the solutions worked, but let me get to the basics:

DFI LanPark DK 790 FX Motherboard
3.2 GHz AMD Athlon X2 64 bit processor
4 GB DDR2 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS Video card with 720 MB Ram

Hard drives:

Western Digital Raptor @ 70 GB (going to be used as the OS drive)
Western Digital Caviar @ 80 GB

Maxtor 120 GB IDE drive (the other 2 are both SATA drives)

Sony DVD R/RW Drive
using onboard audio

Okay so I am running a fresh, clean install (the only "information" is on the IDE drive, and that's my backup for iTunes and Steam) using the Windows 7 Ultimate DVD. The DVD kept hanging @ "completing installation", so I took it to my laptop, and using the instructions on here, made a bootable flash drive.I just tried completing installation from the bootable flash, and it still hangs at that step. When it hangs, it's in a locked up state.. I can't even press Shift + F10 (nothing happens). Also, the CD correctly makes the "System Allocated" section on the drive. Also, i removed all USB drives, and am running both a PS/2 mouse and keyboard.

Error Code 0x8007050 During Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Installation

Jan 27, 2011

I have been encountering this same error code in one of my machines. I get the Error Code: 0x8007050 during installation of Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. It occurs during the expansion of files phase, during instalation, with the message "Windows cannot install the required files. Make sure the required files are available..."

Machine Specs:
Intel DP43TF MB
Intel Quad Core 8300 CPU
4GB OCZ ATI DDR2 RAM
Antec 500 Watt PSU
Hitachi HDS725050 KLA360 HD
and later a Seagate ST3640323AS HD.

In previous installations of Win 7, I've observed that about 29MB are copied to the System Reserved partition. In this scenario, only 11MB are copied. I've performed the following trouble shooting in order:

- Changed out the DVD drive. Tried installation again without success.
- Performed factory system restore on the hard drive. Tried installation again without success.
- Replaced the hard drive with a new one. Tried installation again without success.
- Removed all PCI cards, and tried again with just the PCI-E video card. Tried installation again without success.
- Replaced the PCI-E video card with a PCI card. Tried installation again without success.
- Cloned the "System Reserved" partition from another PC with a functioning install of the same OS. Tried installation again without success.

It should be noted that this specific machine was previously running Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. I was simply attempting to upgrade the hard drive. I've also tried to install Win 7 Home and Win 7 Pro, all with the exact same error code, which occurs during the same phase of installation. I also tried to perform an Upgrade install. The machine accepted a complete install of Win Vista Ultimate 64 bit (twice), but had the same error codes appear during the Upgrade install to Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. I reformatted and reinstalled same Vista 64 bit OS. I tried to install Win 7 Pro 64 Bit, and again encountered the same error codes. Incidentally, I have used 3 different Retail Win 7 install media. The machine passes all MemTest and CPU diagnostics.

Unable To Start Windows 7 Ultimate?

Mar 20, 2011

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate and yesterday I did my first image backup using Acronis True Image 2011 (I'd previously been using an earlier version with no problems.)

When the backup completed I told the computer to shut down and it went to a screen that said the following:

"Operations in progress. Please wait. The machine will be turned off automatically after the operations are complete."

The screen had a blue background with the blue ring with the white bit going round and round to the left of the text and the Windows 7 Ultimate logo at the bottom.

I left the computer and came back over an hour later and the computer had gone into standby. When I pressed the start button the same screen was still displaying so I left it for a couple more hours and came back to it and the same thing happened. I turned the computer off at the back and switched it on again this morning. I got the "Starting Windows" screen and then it went straight back to the "Operations in progress..." message.

Installation Of Windows 7 Won't Start

Mar 2, 2010

I thought about upgrading some HW in my machine. i put everything in there, put a DVD with Win 7 inside, booted. It showed up that loading bar, after that the win starting animation, than the blue flowerish background poped up, than even the mouse showed up, but after that nothing happens. No installation window, only background with mouse cursor. I tried to wait 10 mins with no results. I even tried my RC beta DVD but it does exactly the same (well the background is slightly different :-) ). So now I am using my linux dvd to get access to the net to ask this. And linux works fine.

I have:
INTEL Quad Core q9200
ASUS Extreme Maximus motherboard
2x2GB patriot kingston RAM
Genius PCI 5.1 Audio

everything else was there before the upgrade, so it shouldnt have effect on the problem. (its some ASUS EAH 3650 video, LG DVD - I got it specifically for Win 7 beta, the previous one was making errors during installs , some SATA hard disk)

Removed parts:
ASUS P5GDC PRO
2x 1GB RAM DDR1
INTEL Pentium IV 3Ghz

Windows 7 Ultimate / RAID 0 Installation - Reboot And Select Proper Boot Device

Jun 29, 2010

I can't install my Windows Ultimate 64 bit edition on my RAID 0 Western Digital 500GB hdd's because on the boot screen my computer keeps telling me to "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device", I've done both those instructions, rebooted, reinserted, all of it, no solution. I made sure my boot priority is the drive first, and raid drives after. Still nothing. But this is the interesting part, last time I fixed this problem by using my previous computers dvd drive to install instead of the blu ray, it installed and everything was right with the world.

But I have since then thrown out the old DVD drive, and now have nothing to install with. So what I did in the past hour was used a freinds DVD drive to install and it did not work. When my System Config, is set to RAID, it calls both my blu ray and his dvd drive, ATAPI CD, when in IDE, it calls my blue ray a blue ray and his dvd drive a dvd drive. I simply want to do a clean(custom) install of my windows 64 bit on my two RAID 0 HDDs, I've checked the boot priority, I've put both hdds in RAID0 and I've also used someone elses dvd dive to try and install.

EMachine EL 1850 Hang On Start Windows 7 Ultimate

Jul 4, 2012

I have zero history of this box. I aquired it from a friend. eMachine EL 1850 Win 7 First power on, asks to start in repair or normal Starting with repair, hangs on Starting Windows screen. Screen does not full load, 'Starting Windows' is very light in the back ground. No colors over this text. Power off/Power on same message Starting with normal startup, it hangs at almost the exact spot, except 'Starting Windows' text is fully visible, and you can see two color dots from the rest of the logo starting to appear.

I've never seen a computer freeze at this point ever. So starts the battery of tests. Physically, the computer looks OK on the inside. No burn marks, etc. Delete key takes me to CMOS. Settings are correct. Attempt restarts with USB settings disabled yields same result as before. F8 takes me to start options. Every single option yields same result:

Safe Mode
Safe Mode w/Networking
Safe Mode w/Command Prompt
Debugging

Like eight different options, no success. Alt + F10 takes me to a screen with a command line (no prompt) and nothing else Will not boot from Windows 7 CD. All attempts to do so yield same results as above. Safe Mode stops loading after Classpnp.sys I am utterly stumped. We have tried everything we can think of and it all takes us to the same half loaded loading screen. We tried a DOS boot disk, but were unable to see it completely thro as the disk seemed to be made incorrectly.

Programs Won't Start Correctly Running Windows 7 Ultimate

Jun 12, 2011

Bought some pieces, assembled a new PC, installed Windows 7 Ultimate, then SP1, then several programs and everything seemed to be fine. But the next day, without changing anything, some programs won't start correctly, to be more precise: their processes seem to start (or at least they show up on Task Manager, but consuming only a few KB of ram and no CPU) but no program window appears whatsoever. Sometimes rebooting the PC will stop this from happening, but not always. Here I attach screenshots of CPU-Z and the customary files for debugging BSODs. Full system specs: [URL].

Enable AHCI BEFORE Start Installation Of Windows 7

Sep 6, 2011

Okay I plan on doing a clean install of Windows 7 on my laptop. I have an SSD from crucial.I know that I need to enable AHCI BEFORE I start the installation of Windows 7...correct? I saw this Intel website in regards to AHCI.Intel Rapid Storage Technology” Configure the BIOS for RAID or AHCI on an Intel Desktop Board.I know that my laptop has a chipset that supports AHCI."Enabling AHCI or RAID after installing the operating system is not recommended or supported when a SATA hard drive is the boot drive. Enabling AHCI or RAID after installing the operating system might cause an immediate blue screen with an 0x0000007b error code, followed by a reboot. If you use AHCI or RAID, enable them before installing the operating system.".it looks like enabling AHCI is the absolute last thing I should do before installing Windows 7. As in this is the routine I should follow.

1) Back up any drivers/files/etc that I need
2) Insert Windows 7 Installation Disc
3) Close out of pop up install window.
4) Restart Laptop
5) As laptop is restarting enter BIOS
6) Follow Intel's step by step guide for enabling AHCI
7) Change system to "Boot from DVD Drive"
8) SAVE new BIOS Settings....EXIT

At that point my computer should REBOOT and this time it will do so from the DVD drive and Windows 7 installation screen will appear correct? OR am I missing something? Do I need to do anything in Windows 7 itself before I do anything with the BIOS?
