Windows 7 Premium - No Bluetooth Devices Found (Green Bar Loads To 99 Percent)

Dec 30, 2009

When I double click on the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar the Bluetooth Devices window comes up, the green bar loads to 99% and nothing happens, even though I have 2 turned on Bluetooth devices near the dongle. I have also tried using the software (BlueSoleil) that came with the dongle, but that doesn't work either. All the devices in the device manager are installed correctly (no unknown devices). I am using Windows 7 Premium.

Cannot Detect Or Add Bluetooth Devices In Windows 7 Premium?

Nov 30, 2011

I have an Iogear bluetooth dongle that until a couple of weeks ago was working fine. I use it to connect to a bluetooth keyboard. I went on a trip and took the keyboard with me, where I paired it with my iPad. When I came back, the bluetooth could no longer find the keyboard, or any other bluetooth device for that matter.I've gone through all of the usual troubleshooting steps, including making sure it is set to run automatically, making sure the device drivers are updated, removing and reinstalling the device drivers, making sure the bluetooth settings are correct as far as set to find devices etc. with no luck.It does appear to be working as far as the device goes. There is a blue light on the dongle that blinks when I click to find a bluetooth device. When I put the bluetooth on the computer into discover mode, my phone is able to find the bluetooth radio, but it cannot connect with it. All of this, and the fact that it worked fine before, leads me to believe it may be a problem with my computer. I ran antivirus software, and although it found a couple of malware programs, nothing changed.

Windows 7 Ultimate X64 New Installation With No Devices Found?

Jul 2, 2012

I completely formatted my computer to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit from Windows 7 Home Edition x64, I put in the correct product key and then when I attempted to connect to the internet I couldn't because I don't have the correct drivers.Back when I used to use Windows XP I put a little CD in and then installed the drivers from Device Manager but now with Windows 7, I put the CD in and I can't install the drivers. They show up with a tiny symbol with a yellow exclamation mark on it (it was like this too back when I used XP, but I had no problems then,).

The uninstalled drivers are these:

Base System Device
Base System Device
Ethernet Controller
Network Controller
SM Bus Controller

Also, if this helps my laptop is an Acer Laptop.

Windows 7 Home Premium
AMD A-Series Quad-Core Processor A6-3400M - 4MB cache, 1.4GHz
15.6" HD 1366 x 768 pixel resolution - 6GB DDR3 SDRAM
500GB hard drive
integrated Super-Multi drive
5-in-1 card reader
AMD Radeon HD 6520G Graphics

Make Bluetooth Devices Work On Windows 7

Nov 4, 2009

Here's what you need to do for both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7 systems:

- Download the 'Windows Mobile Device Center' ( current version is 6.1 ) which you can download it from url...this works for both Vista and Windows 7. I've tried it on both.

- Install the downloaded software but it may not look like it worked on Windows 7 PCs. Vista automatically configures the settings on the bluetooth devices but for those who have Windows 7, here are the things you should do:

- Go to 'Device Manager' from 'Control Panel' -Or- just right-click on Computer Icon and choose 'Properties' and then click on 'Device Manager'.

- You'll see an 'Unknown Device' named 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device'

- Right-Click it and click on "Update Driver Software" -Or- anyway you find it easy to bring up the Update driver window.

- Click "Browse My Computer for Driver Software" button.

- Click "Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer".

- Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the list if it asked you to select and then in the next window, it will show a list of drivers with Company Names in one list and Drivers in another. In the Company List choose 'Microsoft Corporation', not only Microsoft.

- From the drivers list there may be one or more drivers with the name "Windows Mobile-Based Device Support" with different driver versions. Select one or the latest.

- Ignore any warnings and keep pressing next and then Finish at last. If all goes well, the last screen will show the message that device driver is successfully installed.

Now, after manually updating the driver for your bluetooth device, in 'Device Manager' when you click on 'Bluetooth Radios', it should display one more item which will say 'Windows Mobile-based device support'.There are few more things that you want to pay attention to. If you have already added the device in your 'bluetooth device list' that didn't work, then remove the device and add it again. After you add it, you might need to restart the computer if it gave you a connection problem error message. Every PCs that had Windows 7 and Vista worked after installing this software and I hope it will work for you too.

Bluetooth Will Not Discover Devices After Windows 7 Upgrade

Mar 6, 2012

I recently upgraded my Acer Aspire One AOD150 Netbook to Windows 7 (32Bit) Home Premium with a clean install, everything works fine except for Bluetooth. I have installed latest drivers from the Acer site but to no avail. According to the Acer Hardware detection utility I have a Broadcomm Bluetooth card.

The Netbook OS was originally Win XP with a Logitech V470 Bluetooth mouse which worked perfectly, I could also discover and user phones and other bluetooth devices.

I have checked to make sure the Bluetooth services are started, and also checked to make sure that Power Saving on the mouse is not enabled (this caused loss of device problems with my new Windows 7 (64bit0 PC - so I disabled it on the Netbook as well)

It seems that no Bluetooth devices can be discovered, I have checked that the Bluetooth is switched on and tried discovering other mice, phones and computers but the system resolutely fails to see any Bluetooth devices at all!

Windows 7 Home Premium OS Not Found In Dell XPS 15

May 18, 2011

I recently bought a Dell XPS 15 L502X Laptop which has Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit OS.It was having only one drive and tried to make a partition.Without knowing the consequences i clicked the Mark Partition as Active in the Disk Management. Next time when i restart the computer. It showed BootMgr is missing. So i could not get into Win 7.So i tried using the Dell Data Safe Local Recovery disc which i created (Unfortunately i did not realise it is not complete and i burnt only one disc). I chose the option reinstall So it asks for the supplementary disc Insert Disk 2 which i dont have.

Bluetooth Devices No Longer Work After Applying Service Pack 1 To Windows 7?

May 4, 2011

I recently updated my Windows 7 Ultimate with Service Pack 1 through Windows Update and after the reboot my Bluetooth devices dont work. I have two Dell mice and a Dell keyboard and they no longer function.I deleted the devices and added them back and while they were discovered and did attach they dont function. Additionally, detailed information on the devices is no longer present. One of my mice was a Dell Travel Mouse and before it showed up as an icon that looked just like my mouse not it shows up as a generic mouse.

In trying to troubleshoot this i disabled the internal Bluetooth and plugged in a Belkin Bluetooth Dongle and it behaves the same way. However as this was an external device it has a flashing light showing when it is receiving a transmission and when I moved the mouse the light would flash so the signal is getting to the computer however nothing is happening on screen. This dongle works perfect on my other Dell D620 Laptop with Windows 7 and no service pack.

Dell D830
Internal Dell 360 Bluetooth
Windows 7 Ultimate
Service Pack 1
4 GB RAM
All Windows Updates applied

Bluetooth Will Not Discover Devices?

Jan 31, 2011

I upgraded my Dell Dimension 4600 to Windows 7 (clean install on new hard drive). At first everything worked perfectly. At some point, there was an update installed that included an updated Bluetooth Driver. Now, everything works except for my Windows Keyboard and Mouse Elite for Bluetooth. Windows Compatibility Center says it should work with default drivers but it doesn't. I tried rolling back the driver but that wasn't an option so I have uninstalled the device and driver and installed without internet connection so it would only install the native driver (verified by date and version). It still will not work. I have searched many forums including this one, probably tried 12 to 15 different proposed solutions and nothing seems to work. Device Manager says it is installed and working properly but when I go to Add a Device, it does not find anything (phone, mouse, keyboard) even though I have made sure they are discoverable, have working batteries, etc.

So, I went out and bought a new IOGear GBU421 Bluetooth 2.1 USB Micro Adapter that specifically says it is Windows 7 compatible. Per the instructions, I ran the Setup from the CD it came with and plugged in the adapter at the time the setup told me to. It installed all of the drivers and said I was ready to go. After a restart, I went to Add a Device and just like before it will not discover my mouse, keyboard or phone. I went to the IOGear website and downloaded and installed the updated driver with the same results. Still not working. I called IOGear and they stepped me through a few things and still not working. At their suggestion, I took the dongle to another computer that is also running Windows 7. At their suggestion, I just plugged it in and let Windows automatically install the drivers. After a restart I went to Add a Device and it worked perfectly on the other computer. So, their suggestion is to go back to my Dell, un-install what I installed from the CD and from the online update, remove the device via device manager and have it also remove the drivers, restart and plug in the dongle and let Windows find and install the drivers just as it did on my other computer. After doing all of that, it still will not work on the Dell.

So, I am thinking problem with my Dell. So, I boot to Ubuntu via CD and let it install it's native drivers. Bluetooth works perfectly with Ubuntu on my Dell. So, my reasoning and process of elimination, this has to be some setting with Windows 7. Perhaps there is something I did not remove? Perhaps there is a hardware conflict even though nothing shows up in Device Manager?

Cannot Connect Bluetooth Devices?

Jul 21, 2011

I have a Medialink Bluetooth dongle that I am unable to get to work with all my bluetooth devices. I have the drivers installed and everything seems as if it should be functioning properly. However, I am not able to pair my two Android devices or my Turtle Beach PX5 headset. I was able to connect with my printer so I'm sure the device itself is working properly. I'm just not sure what I am doing wrong with my other devices.

Bluetooth Headset Won't Show Up In Playback Devices?

Dec 15, 2012

I recently bought a new Bluetooth headset. I paired it with my computer, and got everything working fine. The next day, when I resume my computer from hibernation, I find that it's not immediately working. I check the Playback Devices in Sound, and it shows up as "Disconnected". I right click, and attempt to reconnect. Nothing happens. I go to my Bluetooth Devices and remove the device. I pair it again successfully. I go back to Playback Devices, and it still won't connect, so I restart my computer completely, and it still doesn't work. I try reinstalling the driver for the headset, and it reinstalled fine, but now it won't even show up at all in Playback Devices, despite it being paired fine, and showing up in my Bluetooth Devices.

Though I don't think it matters, the headset is a Kinivo BTH220 Bluetooth Stereo Headphone, exact specifications can be found here: Amazon.com: Kinivo BTH220 Bluetooth Stereo Headphone - Supports Wireless Music Streaming and Hands-Free calling: Cell Phones & Accessories

Cannot Remove Bluetooth Mouse From Devices Window

Dec 28, 2012

I have a Microsoft 5000 bluetooth mouse which doesn't work ever since I updated my bluetooth drivers. My bluetooth keyboard and numpad work fine. I want to re-pair it with the computer but Windows will not display any device which is already installed when looking for devices and my mouse currently shows up in the devices and printers window. I want to remove the mouse from this window but it is the only device which doesn't have a "remove device" option when I click it. The keyboard and the numpad both have this option...

How can I remove this device so I can pair it again with the computer?

Bluetooth Dongle Is Installing, Properly Recognized, Can't See Devices

Oct 28, 2011

Purchased a brand new Asus USB-BT211 bluetooth dongle with the express goal of connecting a wiimote to my new computer. the machine runs Windows 7 x64, the drivers for the dongle install without a problem, and the bluetooth searching mode on the "add a device" screen appears to be running without a hitch.

when i place the wiimote into sync mode (holding down the red button), it never appears to be visible to the computer, and doesn't show up on the add a device screen. When I attempt this procedure with either of my other two laptop computers, (running Windxows Vista x86) using the same dongle, the wiimote syncs without a problem and can be used with other utilities such as glovePIE and JoyToKey and Dolphin.

So, tell me, Why is it that Windows 7 refuses to see the wiimote when i try to make the connection?

Intergrated Bluetooth Not Working On Laptop Can't Find Any Devices?

Sep 18, 2012

The intergrated bluetooth doesn't seem to work. When i try to add a bluetooth device under devices and printers in control panel, it just keeps saying "Searching for devices... Make sure your device is discoverable".I found out that it didn't work, because i just bought a new microsoft notebook Bluetooth mouse 5000, and when i try to install/connect it to my computer, windows just can't find the device. I know it's not my new mouse that isn't working, because i have tried connecting other bluetooth devices aswell, but windows still can't find anything. I have both a Intel Bluetooth driver and an Atheros bluetooth driver (V7.4.0.115) installed. Both downloaded from the Asus support website.I have tried reinstalling both programs a lot of times, and i have runned a lot of different driver update programs, to check if i was using the latest versions or missing any drivers. I have spent a lot of time browsing the web to find a solution to my problem

Can't Connect Wifi Devices To Wired Devices?

Jun 25, 2011

I have been unable to connect to anything on my wired network, for about the last week. I don't remember making any changes however, I just became unable to connect.I having done a little troubleshooting.1. I can connect to the shares of my Windows Home Server if I use the IP address. The name does not resolve.2. Flushed DNS and restarting DNS server. Flushing DNS works on one client, to allow browsing by the name & restarting DNS works on the other. However neither works after a restart.3. Only my Wifi clients are experiencing this issue. My wired clients, desktops, PS3, Xbox 360, and Boxee can connect perfectly. This issue is not limited to my server. I can't connect to shares on my desktop, nor print to my wired printer. Some network background:I have DSL through CenturyLink and have a Linksys E2000 router.
