Windows 7 Ultimate X64 New Installation With No Devices Found?

Jul 2, 2012

I completely formatted my computer to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit from Windows 7 Home Edition x64, I put in the correct product key and then when I attempted to connect to the internet I couldn't because I don't have the correct drivers.Back when I used to use Windows XP I put a little CD in and then installed the drivers from Device Manager but now with Windows 7, I put the CD in and I can't install the drivers. They show up with a tiny symbol with a yellow exclamation mark on it (it was like this too back when I used XP, but I had no problems then,).

The uninstalled drivers are these:

Base System Device
Base System Device
Ethernet Controller
Network Controller
SM Bus Controller

Also, if this helps my laptop is an Acer Laptop.

Windows 7 Home Premium
AMD A-Series Quad-Core Processor A6-3400M - 4MB cache, 1.4GHz
15.6" HD 1366 x 768 pixel resolution - 6GB DDR3 SDRAM

Make Bluetooth Devices Work On Windows 7

Nov 4, 2009

Here's what you need to do for both 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7 systems:

- Download the 'Windows Mobile Device Center' ( current version is 6.1 ) which you can download it from url...this works for both Vista and Windows 7. I've tried it on both.

- Install the downloaded software but it may not look like it worked on Windows 7 PCs. Vista automatically configures the settings on the bluetooth devices but for those who have Windows 7, here are the things you should do:

- Go to 'Device Manager' from 'Control Panel' -Or- just right-click on Computer Icon and choose 'Properties' and then click on 'Device Manager'.

- You'll see an 'Unknown Device' named 'Bluetooth Peripheral Device'

- Right-Click it and click on "Update Driver Software" -Or- anyway you find it easy to bring up the Update driver window.

- Click "Browse My Computer for Driver Software" button.

- Click "Let Me Pick from a List of Device Drivers on my computer".

- Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the list if it asked you to select and then in the next window, it will show a list of drivers with Company Names in one list and Drivers in another. In the Company List choose 'Microsoft Corporation', not only Microsoft.

- From the drivers list there may be one or more drivers with the name "Windows Mobile-Based Device Support" with different driver versions. Select one or the latest.

- Ignore any warnings and keep pressing next and then Finish at last. If all goes well, the last screen will show the message that device driver is successfully installed.

Now, after manually updating the driver for your bluetooth device, in 'Device Manager' when you click on 'Bluetooth Radios', it should display one more item which will say 'Windows Mobile-based device support'.There are few more things that you want to pay attention to. If you have already added the device in your 'bluetooth device list' that didn't work, then remove the device and add it again. After you add it, you might need to restart the computer if it gave you a connection problem error message. Every PCs that had Windows 7 and Vista worked after installing this software and I hope it will work for you too.

Bluetooth Devices No Longer Work After Applying Service Pack 1 To Windows 7?

May 4, 2011

I recently updated my Windows 7 Ultimate with Service Pack 1 through Windows Update and after the reboot my Bluetooth devices dont work. I have two Dell mice and a Dell keyboard and they no longer function.I deleted the devices and added them back and while they were discovered and did attach they dont function. Additionally, detailed information on the devices is no longer present. One of my mice was a Dell Travel Mouse and before it showed up as an icon that looked just like my mouse not it shows up as a generic mouse.

In trying to troubleshoot this i disabled the internal Bluetooth and plugged in a Belkin Bluetooth Dongle and it behaves the same way. However as this was an external device it has a flashing light showing when it is receiving a transmission and when I moved the mouse the light would flash so the signal is getting to the computer however nothing is happening on screen. This dongle works perfect on my other Dell D620 Laptop with Windows 7 and no service pack.

Bluetooth Dongle Is Installing, Properly Recognized, Can't See Devices

Oct 28, 2011

Purchased a brand new Asus USB-BT211 bluetooth dongle with the express goal of connecting a wiimote to my new computer. the machine runs Windows 7 x64, the drivers for the dongle install without a problem, and the bluetooth searching mode on the "add a device" screen appears to be running without a hitch.

when i place the wiimote into sync mode (holding down the red button), it never appears to be visible to the computer, and doesn't show up on the add a device screen. When I attempt this procedure with either of my other two laptop computers, (running Windxows Vista x86) using the same dongle, the wiimote syncs without a problem and can be used with other utilities such as glovePIE and JoyToKey and Dolphin.

So, tell me, Why is it that Windows 7 refuses to see the wiimote when i try to make the connection?

Installing Windows 7 Pro Over Ultimate

Jan 15, 2013

I unwittingly purchased a dodgy copy of Windows Ultimate a few months back - Microsoft just informed me a week ago. So I have now purchased a good copy of W7 Pro thinking I could just replace one with the other but on researching this, it doesn't appear to be the case. I have backed up all my files and programs onto an external hard drive and I have partitioned my C drive. If I install W7 Pro on the partition, will it work over and above the Ultimate? If not, can I just do a clean install with the W7 Pro from scratch and if so, will that work? I really don't want to mess my PC up as I use it daily for work.

After purchasing the drive I decided it might be an idea to also have Win XP Pro on as some of my hardware like scanner does not have a driver for Windows 7. Windows 7 Ultimate Not Installing

May 10, 2012

I have an hp pavillion a1130n with 1.5 GB of ram. I am trying to install windows 7 ultimate x64. I am positive my PC can handle this. Despite its lack of .5 GB of ram. I have tried to install windows 7 ultimate 5 times. Two of them sent me directly to my windows XP SP3. The first gave me BOOTMGR is compressed. Press ctrl+alt+del to restart, followed by an endless loop. The other two times went like this: windows let me use the wireless on the pc to connect to my router, set a system time and user. When it finalizes its settings, it gives me 4 error windows. They each say I am missing a disc. I pressed "cancel" the first time and "retry" the 2nd time. This does not change the outcome, which is windows says "Welcome", followed by "shutting down". When I turn it back on it gives me the "black screen with the cursor" error. This is the error I am having. However, I can boot my windows XP again. I can also reinstall windows, if there is a point in trying. Things I should mention: I am using a usb to install do to my lack of a physical disc. I am not certain the ISO I have put on my flash drive is valid. What I do NOT want people to tell me: 1 install x32. THAT WILL PISS ME OFF. 2 Get a disc. I CAN'T. 3 Install more ram. I can't order any and I lost my 2GB ram card. And, plus, I am using my flash drive as ram once I am done with this. 4 use a different windows version (proffesional, home, basic, etc.) So, I would like a solution to this, because my windows xp is slow.

Installing Windows 7 Ultimate On Netbook?

Sep 9, 2011

I just got a netbook and it came with Windows 7 Starter, and a whole lot of preloaded crap. Apparently it also doesn't come with a boot disc, that the 'factory settings' are hidden deep within the system somewhere. Well, I don't seem to like the factory settings, and I want to install Windows 7 full version, clean, with no preloaded crap, but I don't know the best way to go about it, since this netbook doesnt have a disc drive. Also, I'll be departitioning and formatting and installing blank, but if something goes amiss, I don't have a disk to reinstall the starter edition? I've heard I can turn a USB into a boot drive to install an OS off of, but can I download a backup copy of Starter Edition to put back on the computer in case anything goes wrong?

Help With Installing Operating System Windows 7 Ultimate

May 10, 2012

I just bought a new laptop. It has one hard drive (C/)with 600gb and I partitioned it. However Im not sure if i did this correctly. I had to provide a file path etc and the only place to save the partition (E/)was on the primary C drive itself. (So now theres a file on the C drive called "E" with its own amount of memory).

I made the new partion into a primary drive and it shows up as such on "my computer". The current OS is windows 7 home premium but now I want to install windows 7 ultimate. I realise that Ive done things kinda back to front - my question is: if i install the new windows 7 ultimate OS, will the partition remain as it is or will it be ereased because its located on the C drive?

If I want to install windows 7 64 bit on the primary C: Drive (Clean install) would it affect the other partitions, which has data on them? (D: , E: etc?) like erase or not make them function. Also will my external hard disks which worked on 32 bit system (seagate goFlex Desk) work on the 64 bit after i plug it in after the install?
