A few days ago I finished my first computer build. The process went smoothly until I installed Windows 7 and began to receive repeated blue screens. The BSODs have occurred in various situations such as: while attempting to update drivers, while installing Microsoft Security Essentials and during restarts. The problem is inconsistent and has caused various blue screen error codes that I cannot pinpoint (0x24, 0x3b, 0x34, 0x7e, 0x0a, 0xd1, 0x19). Within the last three days, my computer has blue screened 15 times .
As of now my drivers are up to date. I've also run chkdsk and memtest86+, but have yet to discover an error (in memtest86+ I tested my two RAM sticks individually and let it run for more than one pass).
My parts list consists of...
CPU: Intel Core i5-2400 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz
GPU: SAPPHIRE 100314-3L Radeon HD 6870
Mobo: ASRock Z68 PRO3 GEN3
RAM: G.SKILL Value Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
PSU: SILVERSTONE ST50F-ES 500W
HDD: Seagate Barracuda ST500DM002 500GB
ODD: ASUS 24X DVD Burner
I've also attached the two latest minidumps. Hopefully, I've provided enough information to help solve this issue. I want to use my new computer!
I have a 2 year old Gateway laptop (NV5929u) i5 430M w/ 4GB. It came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installed. The computer crashed with a blue screen a few months ago, and I could not locate the recovery disks, so I ordered a set from Gateway (1 System disk, 2 Recovery disks, 1 Language disk). My attempts at recovery were unsuccessful and I got the msg: failure disk 0 partition 3. I replaced the HD with a brand new one yesterday. My attempts at recovery went a bit further, to the point that the computer loads the information on the various disks, but when it tries to restart.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust purchased a new MOBO and some other new hardware a couple of weeks ago. I am using the same Windows 7 Pro copy I had on my previous mobo and HD. After I installed Windows 7 Pro onto my SDD (with a HD as my secondary storage), I was getting BSOD and SP1 would not install (but other updates would prefectly fine). I re-installed (cleanly) Pro a couple of days ago. Now, barely any of the updates work. There are various failure codes, such as the ones in the title--and no distinct problem.
I was able to download some updates by only selecting 1-3 at a time. However, with 118 updates...I eventually lost my patience (plus, sometimes a few would still fail even at only 1-3 at a time).
The failure process at first was at the download stage - the progress would freeze randomly at 7% or whichever. After several more attempts it got through to the installation phase. Now installations randomly stop at a random file. Upon restart, Windows fails to configure updates and nothing is accomplished.
Now a weird thing is, that with some of my larger files (2+mb), I will sometimes see like 5.1mb - 10mb for the listed file size. Also, on my main Windows Update screen (the one which lists how many important and optional updates you can download), it says "79 important updates selected, 236.2 MB - 1,059.8 MB."
I have tried:
-FixIt
-Deleting all temp files
-Deleting DataStore
Random Specs:
Windows 7 Pro
ASUS P8Z77-V Pro
Samsung 830 64GB SSD
I have installed my office 2007 in my new computer. Everything seems to work fine, except the Autocorrect function. I always use this function to add new corrections - or formatted texts. It has always worked well in Windows XP and Vista, but not on this Windows 7.)

I really don't know a way to describe this other then that, they just do not sound like they used to. They sound like they are not reaching their maximum volume, even though the volume ( master and others ) are all the way up, maxed out. Also, my Dell and the Audio drivers come with an IDT control panel, I do not know how to set up the IDT control panel for best playback, and I do not know how to fix this issue. i am using 7 ultimate 32 bit.
I updated Windows 7 64bit and it installed IE9 64bit. I used to be in IE8 64 or 32bit. I'm not sure. When on IE9 I had so much problems with flash player. So I uninstalled the updates to IE9.Now my IE8 doesn't fully work anymore. I updated Flash player, thinking that was the problem. Some thing with Internet Explorere (non-64bit)I play a lot of those Facebook applications like farmville and cityville. I can get to the game ok, but any popup within the game to ask request, don't work anymore.I am already using firefox for my other account, so I need IE working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Windows 7 laptop connected via a WRT54G2 wireless router to an XP SP3 desktop. Both the laptop and desktop can see shared resources and both can connected to the internet.
In the Laptop's Network and Sharing Center, however, things are not correct. The Laptop has two connections to the router, lan and wireless. The lan's connection appears OK, but I cannot generate a map. I get "Windows cannot discover any computer or device." The wireless network is public.
I don't know why and I don't know how to change it. Also, when I try to create a new network connection, the laptop sees only a WRT160N router (which I don't have; perhaps I did a while ago, when the laptop ran Vista). No place to add a new one.
I have Cisco's Network Magic and it can correct see everything, including the right router.
The strand thing that it's working perfectly in AIMP3 , but when I'm playing a movie in classic media player or YT video, only the center and right speakers are workinghe others have this weeird , super low delayed sound , barely Noticeable .This is my motherboard , maybe I've downloaded wrong drivers or something, but I'm pretty sure that before reinstalling my Windows 7, I had this user friendly configuration tweak with sound options . Now it seems to be gone .

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy laptop is an inspiron n5110 and before my warrenty expired i had to have the hard drive replaced. Its been maybe a year or two since that happened. My computer was not updating with windows update since mid oct. and my firewall was down for i dont know how long. I had the IT guy at my work look at it and somehow my BYTES (i think thats what it was) driver was deleted from my computer and my java update somewhere along the line had corrupted my updates too. He said to do a restore and if i wanted he could completly wipe my hardrive clean for me. Well i did a factory restore yesterday and finished installing the last two disks today. Now i cannot connect to the internet and it is saying my drivers were not downloaded correctly. Should i do a factory restore again or have the IT guy wipe it clean? We even hooked up my computer directly to the router through an eithernet cord.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded Spec Ops The Line (Video Game) on my Dell Laptop w/ Windows 7. After that I got a quick black screen while trying to save a picture of coupons from ActivateRewards. My laptop completely froze and I had to manually shut it down, after I turned it back on an odd screen showed up saying Startup Repair. It said it would take several minutes so I left and came back only to see that it "Could not repair automatically." I then tried to see if I had any backups, like a fool I didn't back anything up. I can't start up Windows normally, or in safe mode due to it being routed straight to Startup Repair, and I can't use Startup Repair because it doesn't fix anything. I tried clicking "Dell Local Safe Data Restore" (Something like that) and it 'loads' something but doesn't work. I tried using the command prompt using this video.
Not sure if I can post links, so sorry if it's against the rules. As I was watching the video I realized it said 7 files copied, whereas mine said "Could not copy all files, Copied 5" . I tried using Startup Repair once more and now it loaded up Dell Datasafe Local Backup
