Installed Windows 7 Ultimate On Dell M1330 And Audio Does Not Work?
May 27, 2011
I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate on my Dell M1330 and my audio doesnt work (though my headphone jack works). I have looked at several other forums for solutions for this problem, installed several drivers (including but not limited to, R147073, R167846, R171786, and what ever driver dell support recommended me install) and I had my speakers and motherboard replaced. I am pretty sure its a windows 7 problem (according to Dell tech support and my research)
I have a Dell M1330 laptop purchased some years ago which is currently running Windows 7. Despite my latest attempts to correct the audio problem, it still persists. My internal speakers are the only ones affected by this problem. When I plug external speakers into my computer they work just fine. The problem doesn't change depending on what type of audio or video I am running. I have run the windows 7 integrated driver updating software and it has said that all of my audio drivers are up to date.
I have a dell latitude laptop D610 and I absolutely cannot get my audio to work after i installed windows 7. I have went everywhere and checked every forum i could find and i cannot find any solutions. i have installed and uninstalled and restarted my comp dozens of time with no results.
After upgrade from Vista 64 to Win7 the internal speaker work, as do all audio jacks (both speaker and microphone). But when I connect my laptop to my HDTV via HDMI, I get no sound throughput. Also I can not see in playback devices the HDMI audio option.
I already updated the SigmaTel Audio Driver and the Intel GM965 Express Chipset Video Driver and still the problem.
I put in a copy of Windows 7 the complete disk and I got windows 7, but then I've noticed that the audio isn't working. I've been to the Dell website but they only have the drivers for xp and I've tried to look up Vista drivers but I can't find them anywhere. Also, everytime I try find a solution through windows it won't let me update the driver.
I have a Dell XPS M1330, Windows 7 64bit RC1, and have never been able to hibernate it. It sleeps fine, but when I press the hibernate button, the screen fades out, turns off momentarily, then comes back to the desktop. If I have "require password on wakeup" turned on, it will come back to the locked login screen.
The drivers are up to date on windows update. I have tried every combination in the "Advanced Power Settings" window, I have tried powercfg -h off and on, and setting size to 100% but nothing helped.
I'm going to be traveling soon, and having the hibernate option would help a great deal. Can anyone help?
I have very recently installed Windows 7 7100 64bit with little success. I can use the M1330 for about 20 minutes and then bam..... the lappy will turn off and when I try to turn it back on I get nothing but a weird white screen. Not even the dell boot screen will appear.
When I first installed Windows 7 it found all drivers but due to this issue I have sought to change a few key drivers. Such as, the nVidia 8400 drivers and I have updated the SATA drivers to R154198
My specs are:
- 4 GB of RAM
- 2.4 CPU
- 200GB HD; 7200RPM
- nVidia 8400 Video card
I have heavily searched the net with no joy. please help.
I also have no sound coming from my Hdmi out after upgrading to RC 7.
I have a Dell XPS 1330 notebook. Audio is Nvidia HD Audio and IDT HD audio codec, both have latest drivers.
When i open Sound mixer and set HDMI to default device and default com device i see sound coming from source and registring on the volume bar graphs.
It seems to stop right at the cable. My computer (unlike a couple of other posts i saw) does recognize the cable and seems to be doing everything right.. just no sound through my .
Anyone have any ideas? i really don't want to go back to vista.
I formated my Dell Optiplex GX620 Desktop. Now the sound is not working. How do I get the sound on? Are there Audio drivers for Dell Optiplex GX620 for windows 7 Ultimate over the internet that I can download?
2 Issues with a fresh install of Windows 7 RC 7100 x64 on a Dell XPS M1330.
Issue 1
Every other reboot my mouse stops responding. I need to do another restart with the keyboard and then it functions again. Then if I do another restart it stops working. Its like clockwork.
Issue 2
Sleep mode crashes. It goes in to sleep mode fine. if I come back a little bit later and open the lid it doesn't turn on. I push the button and it boots up and tells me it shutdown unexpectedly and has safe mode options.
These are the same 2 issues I had with an earlier version of windows 7 6 months ago. They still haven't fixed this kind of basic stuff?
I just loaded windows went as far as accepting key code #'s and it went to update registry and it crashed. After waiting to see if was going to reboot five minutes I rebooted and it starts with wanting an option to start windows and it will run to the start of the logo build and crashes and restarts the cycle of windows startup options ???
I bought a a serial key of Windows 7 Professional x64, but I accidentally have installed Ultimate x64. And I spent 2 weeks setting up my computer, installing soft-wares, games and other stuff. And now I figured out that the key of Professional x64 wont work on Ultimate. Is there any way to shift it to Windows 7 Professional x64 without affecting all the files and settings.
I installed windows 7 ultimate, i did not just upgrade I did the more advanced install. I iinstalled it on a HP pavillion g series that was already running windows 7. I did back it up fully. However, the problem is that it is now not recognizing a properly installed network adapter.
i was installing Ubuntu on my hp laptop and i accidentally installed it over my windows 7. and i cant get it back. i tried installing another version from a cd, but it just booted to ubuntu.
