Just got a new notebook and Java is installed (64 and 30 versions), but it is not working. I am using IE 9, Windows 7. I checked all settings in IE and they are correct. Web pages using Java do not load properly and I cannot install Mcafee software.
View 3 RepliesMy installs of Windows 7 was working fine and all of a sudden it wont boot anymore. Yesterday I put in a required Java Program update install and I think Windows just added a couple of critical updates as well. I have tried booting in every way possible, rolling back, safe mode, etc, and nothing works.
I keep getting the screen telling me there is a problem and must do a system repair. Then the repairs and all it wants to do is shut down. I managed to pull up some error reports and it seems two files are corrupt which are TCPIP.SYS and one called FWPKCLNT.SYS.
TCPIP.SYS is located in C:/WIndows/System32/Drivers
FWPKCLNT.SYS seems to be in drive F:/ which is not an actual drive. It must be a temporary boot drive created by Windows 7.
I have an older XP on another partition on the same hard drive so I booted in XP to see if I could possibly delete the reported corrupt TCPIP.SYS file and replace it from another Windows 7 install from my laptop just to see if that might work. But it wont let me delete the TCPIP.SYS file. It says it is in use, but I can't understand that since I am trying to delete it from the Windows 7 partition while I am booted up from the XP boot partition.
I can't open certain programs, as it says that I don't have the correct java, or its not recognized. I've always had java before, and when I tired to update, it was telling me that it either A. Couldn't do it, or B. It wasn't installed for some kind of error. I've deleted the java, and redownloaded it, and still the same problems. Also, on the automatic updates, its not letting the windows 7 SP1 update either. Maybe has to do with the Java, or vice versa?
View 1 Replies View RelatedShe did the annual update and it failed leaving no copy of the program on the machine.Long story short I got her into her Mcafee account and dl'd the updated version. It would not install because of a Java error. This is also the problem preventing with her logging onto her bank account.So I updated her Java to version 7 and confirmed it on Java's site.Still no joy. Mcafee will not install for the same reason and by the way, she is updated to SP1 on Win 7.I'll put a log from TSG SysInfo up a bit later.

I can not enable Java in Chrome or Firefox even though both of the settings claim that Java Runtime is enabled.

I have a Java app that runs just fine on Windows XP. However, on Windows 7 there is a problem related to a job being done via a Java thread. Background: The app spawns a separate job via a Java thread and continues on while the spawned job executes. In other words, 2 things happen at once.
Problem: On Windows 7, when the app spawns the job, Windows sits and waits for the spawned job to complete before it continues on. In other words, 2 things DO NOT happen at once. It's as if Java threading does not work in Windows 7.
i only ever use firefox, and would always keep it and other programs such as flash and java up to date. one day, some websites just quit working, like facebook, Internet, netflix, and various game sites. this problem continued for a few weeks, and i didn't do anything to try and problem solve it. then everything seemed to magically fix itself, so i figured that an automatic update had done the trick. however, a few months ago those problems started again and since then i have read many threads on how to fix them, uninstalled and reinstalled ff, java and flash countless times, including past versions of all of them. i even tried using ie and chrome, but i had the same problems with those browsers. as of right now, i cannot view flash based game sites (such as omgpop). i used to not be able to play games on facebook, but as of yesterday those suddenly work again. i cannot watch streaming videos on netflix, but Internet works fine. i cannot view content on many web pages (for example google images does not work at all, nor does googlemaps or mapquest). some pages only load partially even though it says they are 'done'. i often see 'javascript:void(0)' on websites. currently i am running the current versions of java and flash and ff 3.6. i have checked pop up blockers and script enabling and just about everything else. i am at a total loss of what to do. i already installed my java 64 bit but still my psp emulator pops " the required version of java is not been installed.. anyway my java 64 bit version is 7.0.30.5.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just performed a complete re-installation of Windows 7 Ultimate x32 onto a friend's Acer Aspire 5920 which was previously running Windows Vista x32.
All was perfect until I installed a Java and a program that needed it. When I ran the Java dependent program, it came up with an error message stating that Java Runtime Environment was either missing or outdated. I then uninstalled Java and reinstalled directly from the Java website. However, on the verification screen after the installation, my Java was not detected and I was told that "Something is wrong. Java is not working."
I followed the troubleshooting instructions on the website and alas it still will not work/be detected.
I then went searching around online for answers and I ended up doing a clean boot in safemode. There I disabled all running services that were not from Microsoft. Then I revisited the Java site and it was able to detect it. However, after rebooting to normal windows Java still can not be detected even with not running the services I turned off in Safemode.
I'm using java 7 latest version.I've installed the 32 version and am using windows 7 x64. Java is not working in any browser. I've uninstalled all browsers, reinstalled them, removed older versions of java and the current one and reinstalled it. I've also been into the Java settings to ensure Mozilla is enabled. I've also turned off all firewalls and virus software. Nothing is working and I'm out of ideas.When loading the java splash screen shows and it looks like it will load, but then it fails, always with a ClassNotFoundException.

In any browser.... they didn't work in the previous versions before i updated both Firefox and Chrome.As far as security software that I'm using, I've tried disabling all of it, and still have the same issues. Those programs are: Spybot S&D, AVG Free, Comodo firewall.Here's a good example of a java thing on a site that won't work for me.Covers.com has a login / password thing in the top right corner of their main page. I punch in my name and password, and neither hitting enter nor clicking on the Login link do anything. But I am experiencing this type of issue on many other sites. I can get on my laptop and go to the same sites and I have no issues, so it's something to do with this OS. Unfortunately, my laptop charger was lost so that's not an option. Plus, I'd really like to be able to use my tower for everything I do on the web.

And when I try to install craftbukkit I only get errors.I have copied these errors so you can view them at...So I searched all over google and tried to go to my computer, advanced settings, path and add the path there but i still get the same errors.I've been all over the mine craft and bukkit forums but no one there can explain how to fix it

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed Windows 7 a week ago and today a very weird thing happens - Aero Peek doesn't work all the time. One thing I noticed is that when it does not work the taskbar icons seem like stuck in selected mode. What I mean is when you go over them they change their color - e.g. like they are selected. But when you go away they become transparent once again - well when Aero Peek stops working mine don't go to transparent.
I've attached an image. The bar on the left is how all bars should look like when they are not hoped over, yet as you can see the right bar has its "selected" color stuck. After I make a few "show desktop" switches, and then switch between windows - it somehow gets fixed. Totally random. I've tried closing programs, did the troubleshooter (said it's all OK), went into settings... basically everything I managed to find and thought of - I tried and nothing worked. All other functions of Aero work.
Installed a new hard drive and did a clean install of windows 7 on it. Installed the the drivers from the recovery cd and I get the message " windows update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running".

I like to keep my PC up-to-date, and since I wasn't in the middle of anything urgent I had my Windows 7 32-bit PC download and install them. WU asked to reboot my computer, so I got to a stopping point and clicked reboot.When I rebooted my PC, my 2nd monitor stopped working and wouldn't detect.So I downloaded installed the latest drivers and restarted, nothing. Tried rolling back to a restore point before the updates, nothing. Uninstalled the video card and rebooted, nothing.
I have an ATI Raedon 3600 Series video card, installed into a Dell Optiplex 360, running 2 Dell 19" LCD monitors. Nothing super fancy or extravagant going on hereI am a bit at a loss. I was going to maybe take out the video card and try reinstalling it physically and "softwarically". But I do not think that will aIt was working fine for months, and so I am guessing it has something to do with the Windows Updates that were installed.
