I have installed the latest version of Java, and have used the command prompt to verify that I do indeed have Java. I can also play Minecraft, which requires Java. I can not enable Java in Chrome or Firefox even though both of the settings claim that Java Runtime is enabled.

I've uninstalled all browsers, reinstalled them, removed older versions of java and the current one and reinstalled it. I've also been into the Java settings to ensure Mozilla is enabled. I've also turned off all firewalls and virus software. Nothing is working and I'm out of ideas.When loading the java splash screen shows and it looks like it will load, but then it fails, always with a ClassNotFoundException.

In any browser.... they didn't work in the previous versions before i updated both Firefox and Chrome.As far as security software that I'm using, I've tried disabling all of it, and still have the same issues. Those programs are: Spybot S&D, AVG Free, Comodo firewall.Here's a good example of a java thing on a site that won't work for me.Covers.com has a login / password thing in the top right corner of their main page. I punch in my name and password, and neither hitting enter nor clicking on the Login link do anything. But I am experiencing this type of issue on many other sites. I can get on my laptop and go to the same sites and I have no issues, so it's something to do with this OS. Unfortunately, my laptop charger was lost so that's not an option. Plus, I'd really like to be able to use my tower for everything I do on the web.

i only ever use firefox, and would always keep it and other programs such as flash and java up to date. one day, some websites just quit working, like facebook, Internet, netflix, and various game sites. this problem continued for a few weeks, and i didn't do anything to try and problem solve it. then everything seemed to magically fix itself, so i figured that an automatic update had done the trick. however, a few months ago those problems started again and since then i have read many threads on how to fix them, uninstalled and reinstalled ff, java and flash countless times, including past versions of all of them. i even tried using ie and chrome, but i had the same problems with those browsers. as of right now, i cannot view flash based game sites (such as omgpop). i used to not be able to play games on facebook, but as of yesterday those suddenly work again. i cannot watch streaming videos on netflix, but Internet works fine. i cannot view content on many web pages (for example google images does not work at all, nor does googlemaps or mapquest). some pages only load partially even though it says they are 'done'. i often see 'javascript:void(0)' on websites. currently i am running the current versions of java and flash and ff 3.6. i have checked pop up blockers and script enabling and just about everything else. i am at a total loss of what to do. (even as i am typing this, i cannot click on any of the text editing tools or smilies and this is showing up as one big paragraph...)
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows 7 x64, JDK 7 U4 and the Java plugin just won't work correctly in any browser, be it IE9, Chrome 19, or Firefox 12. Both the Java installation and the browsers are 32-bit versions. The browsers simply hang or display nothing when a Java applet is supposed to load.I do Java development, so I need the JDK.I have tried everything it seems. Completely removed the JDK and reinstalled it, tried both JDK 7 U3 as well as whatever the latest version of JDK 6 is, tried with just the JRE, but the problem is still the same. I also used a tool called JavaRa to completely remove any remnants of Java before re-installing it.The Java plugin seems to be correctly listed in all browsers (for instance in "about : plugins" in Chrome), with the correct version, too. In Control Panel -> Java, I also have "Enable the next-generation Java Plug-in" enabled.Apart from the browser issue, Java seems to be correctly installed, as I can run "java" or "javac" from a command prompt and it will give the expected output. I am also able to compile Java source files as well as run Java bytecode without issues.A few times I have been able to get it to work in a browser. All of these times were directly after a fresh installation of the JDK/JRE, but then it seems to stop working after a short period of time.

It would not install because of a Java error. This is also the problem preventing with her logging onto her bank account.So I updated her Java to version 7 and confirmed it on Java's site.Still no joy. Mcafee will not install for the same reason and by the way, she is updated to SP1 on Win 7.I'll put a log from TSG SysInfo up a bit later.

Oh. Its an Acer ASPIRE 5534. Win 7 home premium, 64bit.
My installs of Windows 7 was working fine and all of a sudden it wont boot anymore. Yesterday I put in a required Java Program update install and I think Windows just added a couple of critical updates as well. I have tried booting in every way possible, rolling back, safe mode, etc, and nothing works.
I keep getting the screen telling me there is a problem and must do a system repair. Then the repairs and all it wants to do is shut down. I managed to pull up some error reports and it seems two files are corrupt which are TCPIP.SYS and one called FWPKCLNT.SYS.
TCPIP.SYS is located in C:/WIndows/System32/Drivers
FWPKCLNT.SYS seems to be in drive F:/ which is not an actual drive. It must be a temporary boot drive created by Windows 7.
I have an older XP on another partition on the same hard drive so I booted in XP to see if I could possibly delete the reported corrupt TCPIP.SYS file and replace it from another Windows 7 install from my laptop just to see if that might work. But it wont let me delete the TCPIP.SYS file. It says it is in use, but I can't understand that since I am trying to delete it from the Windows 7 partition while I am booted up from the XP boot partition.
I can't open certain programs, as it says that I don't have the correct java, or its not recognized. I've always had java before, and when I tired to update, it was telling me that it either A. Couldn't do it, or B. It wasn't installed for some kind of error. I've deleted the java, and redownloaded it, and still the same problems. Also, on the automatic updates, its not letting the windows 7 SP1 update either. Maybe has to do with the Java, or vice versa?
View 1 Replies View RelatedPrinting's been working fine up until about a week ago. Suddenly I'm unable to print out of chrome. Whenever I try to print I get an error that says "Printer not Installed" in the browser. I disable the "print preview" chrome has recently implemented but that doesn't work. I reinstall Chrome to no avail. I try to print in Firefox and get a different error... "An Error Occurred while Printing." I do some research and then realize I can't print out of Acrobat Pro. My print settings dialog in Acrobat is unlike any I've ever seen and no options work. I can't change the paper size or access the printer settings from the Acrobat Print Dialog.
Steps I've taken so far:
Reinstalled the printer
Restarted Print Spooler
Deleted the Port
Reinstalled Printer again with new drivers
Successfully Printed Test Pages after each of these steps. Still could not print out of other programs.
Successfully Printed out of MS Word
I logged in under a different user and was able to print out of firefox.
I have Dell Inspiron N5110 i7 and with 8Gb RAM and I have replace DVD drive with SSD disk in caddy, and that this is working fine ( when formatting I can copy files), also I have selected AHCI for SATA controller in BIOS. After that my plan is to put Windows 7 on SSD disk. So I have make one USB flash with Windows 7 installation from iso file.
Then during installation when I got to point to select SSD disk as disk where OS will be installed I receive message: "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu." What I need to do, I have formatted SSD disn with HTFS, I have leave it blank, I have tried all possibilities.
